If I were to rank my kintypes by importance it would go:

Tenth Doctor

Blue jay

Coastal wolf

Blue throated macaw

Even with this ranking, I am still all of these things. However some I just more prevalent in my life and the way I experience alterhumanity than other ones. I am also always the Tenth Doctor. So of course it will be highest on my list.

(To note: my fictional identity isn't as black and white as kin or fictive, it is fluid and complicated, but for the purposes of this post I said kintype)

If you have multiple 'types, it's not always a requirement to experience all of them equally. It took me a while to unpack that I wasn't quote-unquote ""abandoning"" any types by not putting the same amount of attention into them as the other ones.

I'm still my other kintypes, but being Beastpup gives me the most species euphoria so ofc I embrace that the most as much as I can.

Disheartening how many folks willingly engage with a kin blog that's staunchly opposed to endo systems and has a huge "endo systems DNI" banner on every post.

I got phantom paws while at the supermarket with my mother. The whole time, I felt so weird walking around on flat foot. But it's a bit hard to walk in boots on your tip toes and I didn't want to look like an absolute weirdo in the supermarket at its busiest time of day. So I didn't. Just suffered through discomfort for an hour.

Now, mind, I didn't have phantom paws for my hands. Just my feet. Hands would have been preferable, but fuck me, I guess.

Bare with me as I go on a bit of a ramble. Just having a moment™ /pos

Something that I am starting to connect to me being the Doctor is my love of helping people.

And that's not just in terms of physically helping people with things, though I love to do that too. But also helping people find information, learn things about others and themself.

Like, teaching questioning alterhumans about alterhumanity and the diverse experiences. Helping questioning plurals figure out stuff about themselves and their plurality.

Helping people who already have they're identity but need reassurance about it. Solidifying these peoples image of themselves through education and support.

Helping people set up their pluralkit bot for the first time. Helping people recall how to do certain things. Reminding people that they are allowed to just be.

I may not be saving entire planets or species anymore. I may not be protecting people from dangerous situations and people. But I'm still helping in someway. I'm being the Doctor in the way that I can. Is it a very human way? Absolutely. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't adore humans. Just by helping in little ways I'm being the Doctor. And that's pretty cool, if you ask me.
