This is my favorite shot in Saltburn because not only is it foreshadowing Felix's fate, but it mirrors the lighting of the room when Sir James is trying to close the blinds so that the family doesn't have to see when they roll him by the window. The vampiric symbolism is just amazing. Oliver's silhouette being dark and hanging down like a bat from the ceiling revealing his predatory nature as opposed to the meek soft spoken façade he puts forward to others. Felix's final scene is similarly composed, he's on the ground, the minitour statue's shadow is towering above him.

i believe barry keoghan (5’8”) was cast alongside jacob elordi and archie madekwe (both 6’5”) in saltburn so the movie could have as many cinematic close up shots as possible of oliver’s baby blue eyes gazing up at men striking an intimidating pose. just always looking up. sluttily

Let's not forget that everything we see is through Oliver's eyes.

From the beginning to the end, we continuously hear 'adult' Oliver lying, with the imagery contradicting what he says (e.g., claiming not to be in love while showing us a montage of beautiful and magnetic Felix). His devotion later turns murderous upon Felix's "rejection"... Just imagine how devastated he is, that in his mind, he would rather Felix be dead than not be able to be near him anymore.

His attempt to cope with the aftermath of his actions, stealing what is lef of Felix's life (Saltburn and his family). I firmly believe that taking over Saltburn was not his goal from the beginning; instead, it is a form of self-punishment, living with the ghost of what he can't have anymore but unable to let go of the only thing he has left of him.

Of course he hates Felix it was his rejection what pushed him to do what he did.
