Hibiclens never really worked for me unfortunately, but I know they’re some people’s saving grace. HS can be very hit and miss that way, so my best advice would be to try them out for a month or so and see what works for you. They can be very drying though, which can cause irritation so start using it maybe every other day/every couple of days to see what your skin can handle. I’ve heard they mostly help to ensure that when they do burst they don’t get infected.

I don’t have any experience with Panoxyl so I can’t help you there, sorry.

Other than the Vicks or Ibuprofen, not that I can think of, no. Just try to keep them covered if you can because friction is definitely your worst enemy. Use some gauze and surgical tape to hold it in place, or if the tape doesn’t hold a bandage wrap should work too. I don’t get flares as much in my armpits but I know how difficult it can be to keep something on that area and not have it fall off.

If you’ve noticed that they get worse/are more prevalent when you shave then I would say to stop for a while and see if that’s one of your triggers. If it is then, yes, you should probably stop shaving. ‘Does the pain get better overtime?’ Sorry to say, but not much. It’s pretty much hell every time you get one, again HS is the fucking worst.
