Further OC-ifying Elidibus for Kit's canon. He's an All-Rounder, PLD/DRG/AST, ofc. Kit will never stop being an adventurer as long as she can put one foot in front of the other. In a world where he's been brought back to life, they need to be balanced. This means letting him have self-sufficiency to use the fighting skills he's gained over eons. No one is taking care of the other. They're a team. Full stop.

Plus I just fucking love battle couples.

The Shadowless hat is just because I've had it since 5.3 and SOMEONE is gonna wear it, ZDI. It's totally incognito.

Just Until Sunrise

“It doesn’t have to be you.”

Elissa looked up from packing her equipment to see Alistair leaning against the door frame, arms crossed, scowling. It wasn’t the first argument they’d had since she decided to go north, and if she didn’t leave soon, it wouldn’t be the last, either.

“It does have to be me.”

“You have other Wardens who are more than capable of investigating this new Blight.”

“I can’t send any of them, Alistair, I need them fighting here.”

He crossed the room, took away the boots she was about to shove in her pack, and grabbed her around the waist, pulling her down as he sat so she’d settle on his lap. “We need you fighting here, love,” he said quietly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She acted at first as if she was going to stand, but admitted the small defeat of letting him hold her and leaned into his hand. There would be no more of this once she left, and if she could store up a thousand of these embraces she would.

Oooh! Hey fun fact, Some Nights is a no-skip album for me! Those are rare!

I'm not sure I had any deep diegesis for choosing this one, except that Fun. as a band puts out a very 'yeah shit kinda sucks but let's keep trucking' vibe on this album. It feels like someone went through some shit and thought "Hey let's put Nate Reuss' gorgeous voice through some autotune and amp this positivity up" and here we go, here's "Carry On" on this perfect album of a band that gets a little slept on.

Kit gets up, even when she thinks she can't anymore, and presses onward. She always, always finds someone out there ready to catch her, even when she thinks she's alone. Some of that is the privilege of being WoL/WoD, but I think also it's emblematic of just how the love she puts out can get reflected back onto her if she's willing to see it.

If I had to pick a moment that really strikes for me...

'Cause we are, we are shining stars We are invincible, we are who we are On our darkest day when we're miles away So we'll come, we will find our way home

I had a little "This is some Hythlodaeus shit right here," moment, which I think was probably the deciding factor for it on this list. He's this cheerleader for... well pretty much everyone involved in WoL's story at Kit's lowest points. In many ways, I think he's the arms waiting at the end, promising it won't always be Like This if she just keeps going, as he knows she can. Even as a shade, he has compassion that rivals her own, and reflected that back onto her at the most complicated moments of her life.
