What's a green flag when it comes to CC creators?

Sims modders/CC creators, this is for you...

PLEASE put your name in your filename. One, someone will have a clue who it's by when they go to find more by you or to finally organize their Mods folder. Two, you're less likely to end up with the exact same filename as another creator.

PLEASE put your name FIRST in your filename. Alphabetization is super useful. It's less useful to alphabetize by the cute name you gave that hair or set of chairs.

PLEASE, for the love of all things Sims, consider not only using your initials. My Mods folder now has three different creators whose files start "MM". There might be even more of you MM's out there.

Plastic Surgery Scar Details

I wanted this for storytelling purposes in my own gameplay, so here we are lmfao. It's by no means perfect, and will look a bit different depending on several factors such as sliders and what skin overlay you use. But it should mesh pretty well with most skins! These are purely for storytelling purposes, and will have no gameplay effects.

Includes:

Breast augmentation scars: Inframammary fold incision, transaxillar incision, donut incision (breast lift), and periareolar incision

Abdominoplasty scars: Mini tummy tuck, extended tummy tuck, fleur-de-lis tummy tuck

Others: Bra line back lift, thigh lift, arm lift.

In 'Body Scar' category.

Allowed for random because I like the possibility of townies spawning with these for story purposes.

The results are out, and I'm interested in how this poll will compare with the others.

I can't help but notice the bulk of the votes were for the 2 weeks of Early Access, with 1 week and 4 weeks coming second and third respectively. Overall the bulk of the votes showed that an Early Access period longer than 4 weeks (or 1 month) was not considered reasonable, with the exception of select few who voted for 8 weeks (or 2 months) or more than 2 months respectively.

[note: 0.5% of 205 comes out to 1.025. So likely only 1 or 2 people voted for those options.]

Paid creator acts up for the 19348th time, site-wide outrage

Everyone pissed off about paid creator

Vague appreciation posts for free CC creators (but they still get fuck-all in terms of reblogs or exposure)

Everyone points out the fact there are places to get this paid CC for free

Paid creator releases new set, gets thousands of reblogs and everyone is putting it on their sims and in their houses and on their Simblrs and basically doing free advertising

Free CC creators go back to getting fuck-all in terms of interaction

The rest is under the cut.

For a site full of people obsessed with the ideal of a person who does no wrong, y’all are sure as shit in love with the people who cannot do anything right whilst the good folk get bugger-all!

When do people stop paying shitty creators and when do these same people stop freely advertising for them as well? 💀 And when it comes to when they fuck up, you know what they say about there being no such thing as bad pubilicity. There’s no way these people will actually be booted from the community because of the price tag making it look more special and desirable, and because people refuse to check out places like Rebels and DHM where you can get all this shit for free.

They can do whatever the fuck they like at this point because the callouts will only summon their white-knights and the rightful reblogged callouts and warnings will only get them more advertising - because most people only care about pretty desirable things and for whatever reason will gladly tolerate shitty business practices from these people.

So many decent folk and passionate folk in this community get nothing except empty vague mass reblogged messages about how much people love their creations whilst the scamming cunts get all the constant attention and advertisement. And all free creators get is pitiful exposure, none of the excited ‘look at this cool CC so and so made!’ and all they get is taken advantage of by paid creators. Don’t be surprised if even more free creators like myself leave the community because they’re tired of it. Scammers in the Simblr or wider CC community and thieves have fucked this up for everybody. Paid content has ruined the TS4 community, but at the same time the whole community almost revolves around it despite it.

Everyone talks about how people making stuff for free or just doing stories and challenges are the backbone of this community and then it entirely becomes about the paid creators. Again. And again and again and again, and it’s never-ending.

I think that we as a community should start repelling those people for real. We already know all they do is following trends, ignoring the rest of us, cc tracking, doxing etc. So why do we keep endorsing that shit? Why do we keep paying for it? If they're out there making that amount of money by SELLING cc, it's because there's someone to buy it. I know there are simmers that are out of the community. Mostly kids and teens who have no idea there is an entire community about it. Let the people who don't know about their evildoings raise them, why do we know and still pay for it? PSMBD is out there, dollhouse mafia, kemono party, ts4 rebels, etc etc. They will always have the stuff. And if they don't, is it really worth it? To give money to the kind of person who throws tantrums at a comment section and calls you a freeloader because you want one thing for free? I don't think it is, darling.

per your post about repelling those kinds of cc creators, i think it'd be really cool if free cc creators collaborated more! i don't see many things like that happen. i think it would help spread that ideal more.

i also think it'd be a good idea to make people outside of tumblr aware of what these cc creators are like, and why the 2 month+ and such paywalling is something that destroys the integrity of the community so fast. some people really don't understand it.

i've had these ideas for awhile, i just don't have a big platform to speak on it.

You're right! I actually remember how fun it was back in my days *back pain*, we would just go around asking people to collab with us because we thought that person was cool and that was it lol, a lot of friendships rose from that. Me and @infiniteraptor have been friends for way too many years. I even forgot how many. Also @zeussim, we regularly talk to each other and we didn't even finish our collab NEJMSKSMDSK anyway, many many others, and it was all fun. I guess this community really lost it's playful essence. I miss it when we were all excited to learn new skills from each other. Now it's all gatekeep.

I keep hoping someone big on youtube would talk about the paywall issue but it's all hopes, unfortunately. They're all sponsored.
