I NEED YOUR HELP WITH PROJECT VELARIS

Hello SJM fam, I need your help with a project I’m coming up with. So I used to be an avid video gamer when I was younger and one of my favorite games was Minecraft (Building was my A-game). It’s been too long and I miss it so what better thing to do than recreate the worlds of bae Sarah J Maas? If I dared, I’d do the entirety of the ACOTAR world and TOG. But for now of course since its quite a daunting task to build whole worlds, why not start of with the City of Dreams? 

I want to include as much of the fandom as possible so I just hope you guyyss can help out!! So for now I’ll be doing the building for the most part and you guyss..

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Send in photos/inspiration ideas of the architecture designs of what you imagine best of how Velaris would look like. Townhouses, Mansions, Shops..wHatEVeR it is that was described in the books. It can be paintings or drawings or actual places and just anythingg!!! 

If you’ve played Minecraft before or know a thing or 2 maybe you can help me find the best resource pack that fitss!!!

I really want to stay committed to this project and I hope you all can be part of it too. It’s the closest thing for now to having an actual world that we can explore. I’ll update you guys on the process and stuff, depends on whats gunna happen.

I love this topic!

I used to love Rhys so much but I really feel like acowar and the following books brought out his absolutely selective and one sided feminism, that he only shows when it serves him. The way he threw mor under the bus and confronted her with her abuser, let him into her safe space without a warning, doesn’t help the Illyrian women or the ones under the mountain that are literally trapped with powerful abusers... also how he constantly slut shames nesta, who is going through exactly what feyre was going through, only dealing with it differently. I think this could have been a great opportunity to show how even Rhys isn’t perfect and how he needs to learn, if they’d actually adressed how horrible his behaviour is and have him acknowledge and change it

Maybe this will happen in future books, with Elain. Because right now he’s fine with Elain because she doesn’t make a fuss, she’s just there being “pleasant” and “nice” and accommodating. I think it would be really amusing if she were the one who called him out for all of this crap. She’s just sitting there, watching how he treats everyone (which, to be fair, is a lot better than other High Lords treat people), and maybe one day she’ll snap. 

I wasn’t even thinking about how he put Mor in that position - and after acosf, it seems like his willingness to give any woman agency, even Feyre, is inconsistent.

Rhys was perfect for Feyre when she needed to leave an abusive relationship. I wonder how much of our view of him is based on Feyre’s perspective and experience, and how much of it is fanon. Now we’re disappointed that he isn’t living up to it.

Also, how much of our view of Rhys is relative - compared to Tamlin, Rhys is a great partner (save the pregnancy thing). Compared to Beron and Tamlin, Rhys is really progressive and supportive of his people. Compared to other High Fae, he doesn’t discriminate against lesser fae. And maybe part of that is because of how High Lords and the magic works? 

The bar in the acotar world is LOW, and Rhys just happens to be a bit above that.

ACOTAR tv series

Everyone’s out there super excited for ACOTAR getting a tv adaption and I’m here like: ‘better treat my baby right’.

It’s best to have no expectations.

Let’s all watch outlander in the meantime and hope for the best...

I genuinely feel nothing but dread over the idea of an ACOTAR TV series.

There is simply no way it could be done justice unless the production value rivaled Game of Thrones, a 100% chance the fandom will get even more toxic, the tags will get flooded and the community completely thrown off kilter, and SJM’s time will be split even more if she’s involved so we may never get the next books.

I’m really not trying to rain on anyone’s parade I’m so happy for the people who are excited about it, but I’m just letting it be known now that as an account I’d like to be excluded from this narrative thank yew ✌️
