What does Peeta mean when he is saying Katniss is pure and for him she is perfect?

What If the Capitol numbered and genetically modified Peeta to withstand unlimited tracker jacker venom (causing manic violence when given tracker jacker venom), desensitized him to violence through exploitation, and made him kill Capitolites before they could harm him? If Katniss knew would Peeta lose Katniss's respect(or whatever respect he had when hijacked) and become a poor tortured soul, a mental charity case to her?

(There's alot that isn't known about the specifics of Peeta's torture but Snow wanted him to suffer, and it's Panem so it must have been unimaginable, and creative but this is just a hypothetical)

I don’t think Katniss could ever consider Peeta a mutt. although she called him that multiple times during mockingjay, I see it as a protection mechanism to not get hurt by his words, because if she doesn’t think of Peeta as Peeta, then the words should hurt as much (tho they definitely do). but deep down I don’t think Katniss ever considered Peeta a mutt, no matter what came out of her mouth.

“remember Peeta can camouflage himself because he’s a baker” said with a mocking tone makes me so mad because they completely misunderstand why he’s able to camouflage and why decorating cakes is mentioned in that context. Peeta was poor, a different kind of poor from the seam, but poor nonetheless. he didn’t have money for paints nor canvases. he is an artist, he creates, he uses his paintings after the first hunger games as his therapy. he loves painting, so he used whatever was available to him to show his artist soul. he was able to decorate cakes and pastries as if they were canvases because they were going to gain a profit from it, but I’m certain that in his free time he probably used the elements to draw and paint, these being water and mud and flowers and whatever he could find. plus he received official training the days before the games.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; the Elriel BC is one of the hottest things SJM has ever written; on top of the heaps of sexual tension, the yearning, the culmination of build up of four books of longing, you have Azriel questioning his entire religion for this woman, and I cannot wait to see it followed through with in the next book. If this is only a taste of what Elriel can give us, just imagine what their book is going to serve.
