Ibarra is someone who elias senses that has greater things set before him, but the pond he chooses to swim in is too restrictive of that (THE line....) Elias, on the contrary, perceives himself to be one more oppressed man added onto the pile of growing bodies

I should've skewed them on the more extreme end of carelessness (when it comes to each other ofc)

Simoun... has moments of his conscience haunting him, so I think it's only natural for that haunting to be present when it comes to him & elias'.... Thing; it's a guilty type of "I don't deserve this"

Elias would let god take the wheel, but simoun has a tendency of wanting to defy fate

Elias is self-sacrificial in the way he allows himself to be the victim of psychological whorefare w/ simoun & simoun is... in the middle because. I feel like he pretends he dgaf about elias leaving him (he does)

Elias is already proven to be accepting of his doom in noli so . I also believe that simoun has instances wherein he wished elias dragged him into the blue as well (this is the elias lives au whoops I need my radoactive men)

Elias lives to serrrrveee😫😍🔥& imo, his dynamic w ibarra naturally extends w his dynamic w simoun (ie. The want to leave gnaws at him, but this time, rather than letting him live, he stays for A Worse Reason). Pre-clarita death, simoun obvs has that "so what if you don't join me😒" attitude, but post-clarita death he still has that. Mindset, but the want to keep elias beside him is even more aggrevated becausd of Circumstances
