Ati’s  Designs: Apartment 1 - Shopping List (3)
So lets jump right in. Okay to start us of, I’ll detail the complete shopping list if you want to copy this design verbatim. Remember the fun of designing is in adapting to things to how you like them and thinking up designs that reflect who and what you prefer, so feel free to adapt this list to meet your own preferences.
Additionally i will also include the full list link on Garland tools database, which will detail how to attain each of these items in great detail! (really if you aren’t familiar with Garland Tools, you've been missing out! Its an amazing tool and its one of the best sites to assist you in keeping the spend low on your designs, as long as you have leveled up crafters and gatherers.)
In addition to the below items, it is also always useful, when designing anything, to keep a spare Riviera Wall Shelf, White Partition and open partition to assist you in using the various glitches needed to make many designs work. (these have not been added to the below list, so as to avoid confusion)

Ati’s  Designs: Apartment 1 - Initial Concept (1)
Hello fellow designers,
sorry for my recent absense but im finally back from my travels and ready ot get started on this tumblr.
Okay so to ease us into the hopeful ongoing theme of this tumblr, I thought we’ld start with the overall imagery of my most recent project, an Apartment.
This post will contain an array of broad angle shots. Which should give you the general look of this most recent project.
For me, when starting a project, I always choose a few features that I know I want and then theme the house around those ideas to give them a cohesive finished look.
In this one I wanted something that had a slightly nautical theme, alot of natural light and I wanted to utilise a loft and stairway. Knowing all that, I also wanted the home to feel airy but cosy and a fusion of modern post 2000 design but with elements of more classical grandeur.
To achieve the modern feel, I went with a stripped back white palette for the loft and bookcase area, with the minimalism that's been seen post 2000, but paired it with stone work, a dark piano and brown earth tones, to give it a more classical and warm feel.
Especially of note is the union of the fireplace with the sheep rug, which has a deep pile effect; giving the sitting room a warm wooden 70′s lodge, type feel while justapoxing it aginst the hyper modern bareness of the loft space.
In total the whole design utilised all 100 slots available for an apartment design.
In future posts I will break down the overall room into areas and explain how to construct your own version of this design. To help you in finding all these posts in the future, all posts relating to this build will be tagged ADA1.

Okay for abit of clarity.
Set up your 2 sub commands. Both your placement and confirm.
Spawn your troupe stage from storage. (Preferably at an angle to the point you want to attach it too)
Now go into first person mode (home key on a PC) and run up again the wall to the side of where you want to place the stage.
Now I personally had no luck with Alice's directions but worked for me is when you move your mouse down from the wall over the top of your window, they'll be a point where it suddenly seems to jump down the window.
You need to place it just before that point. This has worked for me without fail and everyone I've shown this too, even those who struggled with the above method.
For me it's the sudden mouse jump down the window that shows your around the golden spot. Just move it fractionally back up, so it jumps back up and then place it. Works nearly every time.
(Also I found no way of making an even floor between the windows and front door when placing the troupe stage, as the door catch point seems way higher than the windows, or at least it is in lavender bed designs)
Also remember that you can place several troupe stages above 1 window so if you want a walk way but can't place above a door, place a troupe stage long ways on each window, by either side of the door to form the walk way, then place 2 more troupe stages at a 90 degree angle to those on the same 2 windows to make the loft space bigger.
This can be done repeatedly above all windows.
I bring good news my friends! A new way of discovering the loft glitch has been found and I made a video to show you how it’s done! Unfortunately this new method is trickier and finickier, but better than nothing.
Be sure to enable first person view and make sure Display Preview is checked in your edit menu for this.
What you want to do is make the furniture come out at an angle like I do so in the video. Take the furniture and smush yourself against the wall all the way and go into first person view with the camera aimed up towards the window. Position the furniture above the window so the center point is above the window. Now back away but still hugging the wall and keep position over the window. The objective is to make the center point touch the wall the closest it can. Once it’s close enough, use subcommand menu to place.

Absolutely love this! Would totally do it myself but worried it would gobble up my item limit. May well be worth it though!

Lovely concept. Dark, yet elegant.
The use of the hingan lantern to form a table lamp, through its placement low on the wall and then covering it, is inspired and results in a soft uplift of the decor.

Hello my intrepid designers. Right a wee introduction. I forgot to do that before my first posts but then I'm new to tumblr and just kinda finding my way.
So it will be a learning experience.
Anyway, my name is Atieno. I play on the EU legacy server, Ragnarok and was fortunate enough to get my very own small house, in the most recent batch of house sales.
After becoming somewhat obsessed by designing my small house, I realised the item cap would allow me to do either one floor well or 2 floors to a more medium standard. (I like a degree of lived in clutter), so I decided to do my basement.
Anyway the pictures of the basement flat posted before, are the result. I main Ast and thus I wanted a welcoming environment that shouted lived in, comfortable and astroligian. I wanted it to reflect my actual avatar proportions in size dynamics that would be true for the real world.
And I'm really happy with the result.
On the back of this first design, I landed my first commission. To redesign our FC mansion. The eastern themed basement bar is the result of that project being started.
I do not claim all my ideas are original, many are drawn from or amalgamated from ideas I've seen elsewhere or in other houses and the many talented designers their are.
So as the result of these designs I decided to make a place where I can share my own and others ideas for housing and hopefully help others get into designing their own wee private corner of Eorzea.
One minor difference about this blog hopefully, is my intent to break down my designs after posting the finished product.
So when I get back (I'm away travelling for the next couple of weeks), you can look forward too a complete run down of how to achieve a similar look to my basement flat.
Which I hope to post with buying guides, crafting guides and a general shopping list.
Hope to see you all then.
Happy designing!!!
