This highlighted section feels so inconspicuous, even dare I say obvious, but the fact that it's emphasised here just made a crazy amount of things click for me.

Like, the fact that she is loved by grown ups and people in positions of authority really makes it apparent to me that it could inform why she feels the need to be as competent as she is, and also where that need for attention and validation comes from.

Like, if everyone talks about how cute, sweet and helpful you are, you're gonna start to believe it yourself, or at least feel a need to live up to those expectations everyone's inadvertently setting you.

Like, I've felt she's an overachiever and even perfectionist at times, like when she finds the prospect of failing to earn a patch terrifying, or even a need to act mature for her age (see her leading her troop, eps like Lord of the Firesides REALLY emphasise this too).

She's always got to be the voice of reason, the level head, the one everyone can rely on. All of these social pressures and expectations... it's a lot. Makes you wonder if it's gonna be harder for her when she's older, too.

This is pure speculation, but I even wonder if this is a part of why she loves Phineas - she can be free of these burdens for a bit and just enjoy herself. Though of course, the tragic irony is that she ends up needing to act a certain way so HE likes her. But like, on her best days, she can just go and have fun with him. Maybe that's why she fantasises a lot too, the dreamy dreamer being an escapist outlet. IDK, I'm just spitballing, but one wonders.

I've also developed the headcanon that she kinda connects to Phineas because she feels these struggles similarly - Phineas is also a natural leader who's well liked by everyone. Granted, there's differences in their modus operandi, but there's broad connections you can make.

Obviously, Isabella is very self confident and hypercompetent, as is Phineas. But you still can't help but wonder if vulnerabilities surface, ie Isabella becoming attached to that validation and need to be competent.

So yeah... Isabella being this beloved and respected really makes a lot of sense to some of these nuances of her character.

Operation Upside Down Cake

Okay, guys I had a midnight mega brain wave! Do you think that there will be a flipped Operation Crumbcake episode in the new season? Like in high school Phineas finally has a crush on Isabella and keeps inventing ways to tell her or just do really nice but more I want to date you inventions, but because he is finally experiencing teenage anxiety and emotions he keeps self sabotaging them. Or distracting her from it last minute, or the ones she does see she misinterprets. I think it could be the most amazing yet aggravating episode ever ;]

Look at him experiencing absolute teenage panic, and it could maybe end with Isabella giving him a quick peck on the cheek. But both walking away thinking, well I blew that chance.

Biblical Womanhood =/= Trad Wife Bullshit

Young Christian girls, remember that the Proverbs 31 woman is a business owner. She makes and sells clothes. She bought a farm with her own money. She's intelligent enough to do her business WELL. The average working mother is much closer to the Proverbs 31 woman than these wealthy trad wife influencers.

Biblical womanhood is not about being docile or worshipping men. It's not about this creepy obsession with submission. It's about being intelligent, doing whatever needs to be done for yourself and your family. Following God's will. Deborah led an army. Judith murdered a King to save her people. Esther is the one who must intervene to save her people.

And to see Catholic women parroting this bullshit? When even our own Saints weren't these cutesy little trad life girls. God told St. Hidegard Von Bingin to preach. Imagine if St. Joan of Arc responded to God's call with "Bu-But I'm just a cute coqeutte girl 🎀". St. Teresa of Avila reformed and created the Discalced Carmelites. Even St. Maria Goretti, a child, fought to the death to protect her dignity and autonomy. It was women who spread the word of Jesus, who spread the word of His resurrection.

Jesus was born of a woman, Mary and God. No human male was involved in His birth. Never forget the importance of that. Christ protected women who committed mortal sins. He told men to gauge out their eyes if they can't respect a woman's dignity. He showed himself to a woman first. The late Pope Francis himself called St. Mary Magdelene the Apostle to the Apostles.

Never allow anyone to weaponize your faith against you. God does not view you as a helpmate. God has nothing but respect and reverence for women's power. Never ever ever let someone tell you that biblical womanhood is about being weak and dependent or being the most "pure" or the most feminine. Biblical womanhood is about strength, nobility, and love for God at the core of every action.
