Congratulations to Megoy!

With only a few votes of diffence, Megoy managed to win over Maiggie, claiming the number one spot. Now, a full two months after the tournaments' start, the FHS shipping tournament has finally come to an end. I want to thank everyone who participated and voted, but especially everyone who sent propaganda, art and even just reblogged the polls with their opinions! You guys made this very fun :)

I hope you'll join me for the next event I've got planned (whenever that happens)!

Also! Since the tournament is now ending, I have one more poll that has to do with the format of any future tournaments we might have in this blog. Explanations for the options:

March Madness Seeding: The most popular character/ship goes against the least popular ones first.

Jacobian Ladders: The options are paired together with others of similar popularity (so, the two most popular go against each other and the two least popular go against each other).

Random: Self explanatory. I'll just use a random number generator to decide what the placement of each option will be.

Personally I like MMS because it ups the suspense with each round, as the weaker competitors go and only the most popular remain... But I worry that using it will just render all of the less popular options irrelevant, while the Jacobian Ladders style allows us to properly see which of those less popular options are more popular in relation to each other. But I don't know, what do y'all think?

FHS Ship Tournament THIRD PLACE

My only and best defense it's that one drawing and that they were GOING TO BE REAL BUT EDDO CHANGED IT AHHGGG They're literally took it away from us. 2016 was too afraid of wlws it seems They're sun/moon themed in my brain. The girlies ever. I wish eddo showed something more abt usagi that isn't related to loon and thus inmediatly forgettable so I could defend it from her side u_u From Joy's- considering the way her family treats her i just think having a more brave and adventurer gf is so nice for her,,,, like- almost two worlds meeting --- also i hc they both know karate and i love that for them. A classic rivals to lovers. Fox hates Golden's guts, but at the same time he respect him (has never punched him for getting close to Chica like he's done to Freddy) and secretly wants his praise (seen in Fox's dream where Golden is cheering on him with the crowd). He even worried about him when Golden dissapeared, going to his house to apologize and getting depressed when he wasnt able to do it. And, of course, he helped him out of the shadows and even recognized the possibility of Golden's job taking a toll on him. Golden never seemed to have anything against Fox until he started attacking him, and Golden just had to defend himself. So, if Fox were to try and befriend him, I think Golden would be happy. Also they lived together in season 2 and slept in the same bed. do I even have to say anything about that. The potential for them to start getting along, knowing more about each other and comforting each other when their trauma inevitably catches up to them... the domesticity of it all (Submitted by chocottang).

i mean first of all. this ship appeared in like one episode and it wasn't even meant to be a ship and it was enough to fuel the community for a lifetime of maiggie content. the camp episode speaks for itself; maggie is a very confident and very serious but easily annoyed person. mai, on the other hand, is very silly and goofy, and, while she does deal with serious themes such as the shadow world and magic in general, she is never really shown to be that serious. i think they have a really nice contrast and they both can bring the best out of each other, such as mai convincing maggie to indulge more in the stuff she likes instead of being serious all the time and pushing those things aside (Submitted by anonymous).

After a long and hard war, we're finally at the finish line! Now, with both brackets at their end, it's time for the two winners to compete in one last match: Megoy VS Maiggie. Let's see, for once and for all, what the most popular FHS ship is!

FHS Ship Tournament... Round 5!

Finally, we reached the semifinals. All of these ships have come far, but now it's time to decide which one will be the final winner and which ones will have to content themselves with second, third and fourth place.

Do you have any plans for other events, besides another shipping tournament?

I've thought about some ideas. I'd like to do a character or band event- kind of like the FHS week that started off this blog, but for a specific character or subset of characters. I'm not sure what others would think of that idea, though, since we all have different favorite characters and not everyone may end up interested in whatever character ends up having the most votes. Same goes for a ship week: Could be interesting, but not everyone likes every ship (and even if we did a general shipping week, not everyone likes romance).

I've also considered possibly organizing a gift exchange, but for now at least I'm not too comfortable doing that. I'm sure it could be fun, but I see a number of possible issues with it that have put me off atm. It's something I'm still open to trying someday, though.

And of course, I'd like to redo the initial FHS week again sometime. Most likely once the anniversary of the first FHS week comes.

There's also the possibility of jumping in the bandwagon for an event that already exists- like, idk, Femslash February but FHS edition. Not sure how that'd work out though, exactly, but it could be fun.

I think there's something very neat about Freddy, who's always wanted to sing but been too afraid to do so because of Fred, being with Golden, who praises his singing abilities even when Freddy (Actually Fred) intentionally interrupted him and happily sharing the spot light with him. The guy who craves attention but is afraid of it because of a secret he's hiding + the high profile celebrity who's tired of his own fame.

Also they're both called Freddy. I just think that's really funny for some reason.

Now THIS is the opposites attract ship. We have a rich girl who cares deeply about her looks and reputation Vs. a guy that's grown up in poverty, that barely showers and is hanging out with a gang. And yet, despite how different they are, when Toddy needs a new team after accepting that the Toys never wanted her... it's Nightmares and Onnie that she chooses. It makes one wonder just how they managed to bond with their lives and personalities being so radically different.

Propaganda for Goldami (under the cut due to lenght):

They have so much in common and yet they're so different at the same time. They both struggle with loneliness and repressing their feelings as a response, they would understand each other, and help each other, like no one else could. But their personalities are so different, Golden is a romantic craving real love and clinging to anyone who will give it to him, prone to helping anyone around him, while Cami separates herself from anything of the sort and is literally in the villain squad. They also have some drama to deal with, regarding Cami hypnotizing him, literally taking away his agency: Golden's biggest fear. And yet he doesn't recognize her as the one who did that. Oh, I wonder how that could go! (Submitted by @chocottang)

The name of the game here is POTENTIAL! The mere idea of the girl who once brainwashed the person she will later develops feelings for, and be romantically involved with, is very intriguing on its own.

How their turbulent first interaction (mind control) could ever evolve into something like friendship or romance. Does Cami regret having brainwashed Golden? Does she view it as an obligation she had to fullfill? Do the two talk about it? Does Golden remember the mind-control/ know it was Cami and if so, is there a lingering weariness toward Cami? Does she pick up on this, and if so how does she grapple with someone fearing her. Later down the line with someone she has feelings for/is dating, still "fearing" her, whether its on a conscious or subconscious level?

What does she think of Golden remembering, or not remembering? Is it guilt? How does she react as she realizes someone who was "simply a tool for bigger plans", becomes a real person to her? An individual person. Cami's view shifting from a how she previously saw Golden, or how she thought she saw them, possibly how she convinced herself to see them? Has she convinced herself she saw Golden as a simple tool in order to not think about the weight of mind control, of having the power to take peoples autonomy? There is just no way Cami sits in this relationship without wondering if she is somehow "brainwashing golden again" into "doing as she says again. Even if her brainwashing/mind-control abilities are something she has to fully intent for them to function, the inking of doubt, and the self-demonetization is a turbulence worth exploring.

Then there's Golden and how his whole personal struggle in life is being controlled and bossed around by family, drowning in work to do. Would he even be allowed to date someone in the first place? Regardless of whether or not he is allowed to, does he have the time for one? How much guilt does he feel over not being able to be there for extended periods of time, dates having to be planned in advance, and even being unable to respond to a simple text in a timely manner because hes so busy? How does it feel to have adoring fans, your name known, then have your own attention set on one person? Do her eyes on him blur and blend with the masses, can he distinguish surface level adoration and true deep feelings? If he can, can he believe it, can he believe anyone knows him enough to develop such feelings? How hollow does that make affection feel? Does he take certain gestures for granted, view them as normal, or do they maybe make him uncomfortable due to their semblance to fan culture? Of all the ships, it's the most developed of the entire series- we ge to see them meet, how they become friends, how Bon develops his feelings for Bonnie, their first fight, how they resolve it... There's just so much going on with them and it makes the ship really fun to think about.

FHS Ship Tournament... Round 4!

We've passed the midway point, only 8 ships remaining, and now we only have two rounds to look forward to. The ships that pass this round will be the finalists of their respective brackets. With only the heavy hitters still hanging on, which ship will be loved enough to cross this final hurdle?

There's 32 ships per character in your ship names spreadsheet, so maybe you could do an entire tournament just for the ships of one character? Like, all Freddy ships duking it out.

WAIT YOU'RE RIGHT ANON that could be fun! Knowing who's the favorite of them all... That could be really interesting, especially if we compare and contrast the different results different characters get.

Although for most of them I don't think the actual result would be all that shocking, lol. The middling battles would be pretty cool, especially since it'll involve trying to think about some dynamics between characters that never interacted (like, what kind of dynamic would Freddy and Shadow Fox have? Freddy and Loon? Freddy and Towntrap?) but they'd get destroyed by the more popular Freddy ships like Freddica or Golddy without receiving much of a second thought.

I'll definitely consider it, though. And if I do decide to make it, it'd be fun to make a vote on what character gets the honor of having all their ships fight to the death.

What ships would you even put in a second ship tournament?

First of all: The ships that lost the preliminary polls! So Felibon, Townami, Owonnie and all the others who didn't make it to the final cut. Then, any ships that I've heard mentioned that people wanted to submit but forgot- I believe someone mentioned Camai and someone else Annwynn? And probably others if I were to look into it.

Also, the more popular ships that didn't get included in this tournament, like Goldica, Foxtrap or Foxica. Although that might be a bit unfair against the others if they're just going against a bunch of rarepairs lol.

Plus I would want to add some of my more obscure ships! I didn't bother with putting them in this one because I knew they'd never get through the first round (except Neibon... And they lost preliminaries). So things like Oxynn, Onnfox, Deuzagi, etc.. Just a few of my weirdos.
