Of course, you should always do what’s best for you, but just know that you’ll be deeply missed <333 Every one of your fics has been such a joy to read. I mostly stay on the sidelines—just quietly reading and following the authors I love here on Tumblr—so I haven’t experienced much of the toxicity firsthand. But it’s such a strange, conflicting feeling to be part of a fandom and love two characters, knowing they were created by someone so unhinged and full of hatred.

Thank you for loving my writing!! I must admit, at large I have been so very spared a lot of the drama, most of the times, I just see the consequences of the toxicity and what is has done to writers and creators that I myself enjoy

I won’t leave the fandom. Not really. But I think I’ll stay away from tumblr for a bit. Not that I was an active user, but I was here, everyday for the last two years or so

I’ll keep writing, and I’ll always answer comments on ao3 🩷

I’ve been trying to formulate posts in my head and none of them come out right. So here’s a list of thoughts that I’ve had in the last few days

• it’s becoming harder and harder to be a part of this fandom and also being aware of the absolute shit that jk Rowling doing esp to the trans community

• most of the people that I entered this fandom for (writers, creators, misc personalities) are actively leaving the fandom and/or distancing themselves from it - due to the absolute shit that is going on (caused by jk Rowling but also by others in the fandom itself)

• who even are these people? Is it younger fans with no sense of fandom etiquette? Is it older fans that are more conservative (for some reason)? What’s going on?

• is this what it’s like in other fandoms? Has this always been the case specifically for this one? Is it meant to be this dramatic and fucking toxic?

• all that’s gonna be left soon is the rabid tik tok comments just recycling the same old atyd quotes after chasing every creator out of this space

• I should write more, I have an entire story in my head and a finished outline I should just sit down and write

• I have absolutely no motivation to write

• I haven’t even read wolfstar in (what feels like) ages

• should I just leave the fandom?

• …

• we’re spiraling now, it’s not so deep.

Lily introduced Sirius to the amazing muggle contraption that is the magic 8 ball.

Sirius consulted it for every minor decision he made for the rest of the week and also freaked out when he asked it if Remus loves him and it said the chances were high.

I’m so deep into this femme phase that I started listening to Justin Bieber again

And Sirius, who grew up with a very different (read traditional, conservative and archaic) view on romance and relationships being absolutely wooed

I love thinking about old-fashioned, gentlemanly, ultra romantic Remus who gets all of his ideas and expectations of what romance is from books and fairytales. He is showing up to dates with flowers and writes love letters and poems that he spends hours on. He takes things slow, and gets nervous about holding his dates hand for the first time, and stresses over his first kiss being absolutely perfect. He pulls out chairs and walks his dates to the door and says things like "you look lovely tonight" ❤️

Currently watching: I had to pause my house rewatch because I came to season six/seven and it started to become unhinged

fig !!! I think about calling off the dogs CONSTANTLY. as well as the experience I had waiting for updates every week. Seriously that fic made me fall back in love with the art of a WIP !!!!!!! And your lovely responses to my frankly massive comments remind me to continue commenting on other fics, knowing how important it is to do so.

I’m doing ok…. Which is a bit of a disappointing answer maybe. Life’s good in general, and I’m happy, in general. But I have a lot at work currently, and I don’t really know when it’s slowing down. It’s a all fun stuff, but it’s unrelenting

I am planning something new. And I’m letting it steep in my brain for as long as I’m busy with other shit. I think that might be the key to really write with joy, to be excited to write
