Stuff I’ve done today: went on a long train ride followed by a shorter one, listened to every song on Ram It Down except Johnny B Goode and Monsters Of Rock (which were conveniently right next to each other), genuinely forgot I’m A Rocker existed (which is embarrassing because I listened to it the most recently on that album up to that point also it meant I nearly skipped it altogether in favour of just putting The Big One on shuffle again because I was genuinely convinced the last song on the album when it was on shuffle was Heavy Metal and at the end of Blood Red Skies I was like “place your bets, Ram It Down or Heavy Metal next”. It was Ram It Down), met up with my paternal grandparents and one of my cousins for the first time in person for six years, played Minecraft Bedrock edition and decided I would be at least slightly less useless at bedwars and eggwars if I were playing on the Switch version rather than the XBox version (why are the a and b buttons that way round? But also all console versions I believe randomly swap the breaking and placing buttons and it wasn’t just an and b being swapped around that tripped me up. Also I had one game where I just could not get over the bridge to the main island. Like I got over it successfully without getting blown up a maximum of twice that entire game. I don’t know who was blowing me up every time I tried to cross the bridge but someone really wanted to see me explode anytime I tried to cross it. Also there was another game where my team kept breaking our own bed/egg defense when I was making it), got really tired, randomly got Down In Flames stuck in my head for a few hours probably, got driven by my grandfather down to the beach, walked near the beach, visited a pirate/viking festival thing purely to see if we could get some food as an excuse to get some cutlery so I could eat the noodles we bought yesterday for my evening snack, found a big slug, looked through some channels on German TV and sung along to Breaking The Law which was in one of the films that was on (and started just as we got to that film), randomly got Down In Flames stuck in my head, forgot how to spell tired

So, cis women’s entitlement over transmasc bodies. Or, more accurately, cis women’s entitlement over bodies they perceive as being like their own.

Under the cispatriarchy, cis women, particularly cis white women, will often have the role of the enforcer of femininity. You’ll very frequently see this in groups of women and, if you were raised under the assumption that you are a girl, you’ve likely seen it in action yourself, particularly from cis women family members. At some point, your mother decided it was time you learn to shave your pits and legs and made sure you did it. If your girl classmates saw your leg hair, they’d freak out cause that’s soooo gross. If you didn’t wear makeup, they’d either make a huge effort to teach you or they’d make snide remarks about it. If you wanted less feminine clothes, your mom would never buy them for you and since you’re a kid you have to wear the girly clothes she picks for you instead. If she doesn’t, the girls at school will try to “give you a makeover”. Actually, the fact that makeovers are a thing and seen as something exciting to take part in even if the central focus is unwilling should say a lot. Basically, if you’re seen as someone who’s supposed to be a girl and you’re not Performing Girl hard enough, you get harassed until you comply or become a social outcast among women.

If cis women perceive you as One Of Them but Doing It Wrong, they have a sudden need to correct it. This is already weird and a sign of a misogynistic culture. But then we get into the problem of being a trans man in an environment like this.

You want to cut your hair short? “But it’s sooooo much prettier long! Why would you wanna get rid of it?! I’ve been so jealous of your hair, you can’t do this to me!”

You don’t want to wear makeup if you did before? “You don’t have to wear too much, you know, just the basics, come on. You look so much worse now.”

You stop shaving your legs and pits? “Ew, that’s so gross and unsanitary!”

And I haven’t even gotten into medical transitioning.

Which, okay I guess cis women would likely see the idea of taking a body Like Theirs and masculinizing it to be a horror show because they would never want the same thing for themselves. Thing is, out of all the things that are not about them, this is the most not about them. Still, they will make it about themselves.

Cis women who lost the body parts we want removed will take it deeply personally as if we wouldn’t offer to hand you ours without hesitation. Cis mothers will cry and act wounded and victimized over their trans sons getting top surgery. If you go out to a beach with visible top surgery scars, cis women approach you and talk to you like they just caught you self harming for the first time (“oh, sweetie, what have you done to yourself” in That Specific Tone). Cis women in general will say and do anything to make you reconsider your desire to make your body, which they see as Like Theirs, less Like Theirs. As if it’s about them. As if you’re a lost lamb to guide back to the fold. And not just some guy trying to improve your quality of life by getting rid of what’s causing you distress and giving yourself things that make you happier.

And you’d hope after a certain point in transition they’d stop. They’d finally recognize you’re a guy and you want a body that matches You, The Guy. And some do. But some don’t. You’re still a tragedy to them and now a danger to other girls and they’ll overwrite your words and your reality to paint you as such. Because now you’re Once Like Ours. Something corrupted. Not a real man but instead That Which Was Once A Woman, and you carry a corrupting force that they fear will reach them or their daughters. That corrupting force, by the way, is the knowledge that you literally do not have to be a woman if you don’t want to be and there are options. Because once you have that, well, their gender policing doesn’t quite work the same way it used to now. They lost control. And that’s scary. But they didn’t need or deserve it in the first place, now did they?

That got a little dramatized at the end there but I feel I’ve made my point.

The wording suggested it was any Gen 2 Mega not just Houndoom, Steelix, Tyranitar or Scizor. Personally I think Heracross’s Mega is a downgrade and it’s my least favourite Mega so far but out of the four in the post I have the least attachment to Scizor)

Every Gen 9 Legendary and Mythical (including the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords but only including one form of each Pokémon) ranked by how likely I think it is they will get Tera Raid events distributing their shinies like the Ruinous Quartet currently have. As ever with a tier list I feel the need to explain my tier choices so here goes:

“Already in raids” should probably have been phrased as “already confirmed” because technically only Wo-Chien is currently accessible that way until Chien-Pao takes over next week. Normally I put the “already there” tier at the bottom but I put it at the top this time because why not

Absolutely coming: 1) like the Ruinous Quartet there was (and presumably still is. There definitely was leading into the presents last week) a large amount of fan demand for their shinies to be distributed so I guess it makes sense (strangely this has nothing to do with me being disappointed at how fanservicy the confirmed-true Z-A and UNITE leaks (Empoleon for the latter, predicted by someone who correctly guessed Pawmot and something else that was already confirmed before the presents last week I just don’t remember what it was) sound) and 2) Zacian and Zamazenta had their shinies distributed towards the end of SwSh and apparently Solgaleo and Lunala might have had that in SM and/or USUM as well so I’m not doubting the pattern as much now

Proto Beasts and Neo Swords: I think it’s more likely that Game Freak/TPC counts them as Legendaries and Mythicals than you think. Anyone remember those three tins from a few months ago? Well one had the Ruinous Quartet on it, another I believe had the Loyal Three (and presumably either Ogerpon or Pecharunt) on it and the other had the Proto Beasts (minus Bolt) and Neo Swords (minus Crown which is especially surprising given it’s normally Boulder who gets excluded out of the Neo Swords. Heck the rare times it is included but they still feel the need to exclude one, Leaves gets special treatment and can be treated separately because of that so uhh Crown is the least likely of the Neo Swords to get excluded and I guess that’ll never happen again and it’ll just be Boulder getting excluded from now on because who likes fat psychic robot bulls with big swordlike blades amiright?) so at least Wake, Leaves, Fire and Boulder are likely to be considered Legendary or Mythical. Plus Wake and Leaves are treated like Mythicals in HOME (being restricted) and the Blueberry Dex (not being required for completion speaking of I had a thought. What if the in-universe reason they’re not required for Dex completion is that Briar discovered the existence of Fire, Boulder, Bolt and Crown (presumably from third person accounts) and just assumed that with the existence of Paradox counterparts of Entei, Terrakion, Raikou and Cobalion there had to be Paradox counterparts of Suicune and Virizion so she left placeholder gaps in the Blueberry Dex for them in case they were officially discovered. Kinda like how everyone knew “Dino Entei” and “Robo Terrakion” would be things when Bolt and Crown were announced and Wake and Leaves had been in the game for a long time already. Actually I forgot they were likely described in the books when I came up with that theory oh well. I mean maybe that’s where she got them from and it’s just she used confirmed sightings of Fire, Boulder, Bolt and Crown to confirm their existences but nobody had managed to confirm a sighting of Wake or Leaves which is why they’re not required for Dex completion. Would still love to register them in their non-native versions though) but both of those are presumably because they’re event-exclusive. I do still think that if they’d have referred to the Raidons as Paradoxes, Wake and Leaves as Mythicals (or Legendaries but I’m saying Mythicals) and Fire, Boulder, Bolt and Crown as Legendaries (specifically sub-Legendaries) in the code more people would have been willing to accept the fact that the code might not be entirely indicative of every classification given between Ultra Beast, Legendary, Mythical and Paradox (and presumably more) you can only have one classification and they only really did it how they did because the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords don’t break Paradox patterns the same way the Raidons do (Past Paradox Pokémon having a pattern that isn’t broken by anyone but Koraidon? Yeah right)

Loyal Three: I think there is a slight chance by default but with the Ruinous Quartet getting the event and the Raidons being very likely to follow (just as soon as the last few Pseudo Legendary raids are done and by the way I’m glad we didn’t just get another Pseud raid last week because that would have been boring and not worth saving for the presents. Besides, the presents kinda needed something interesting coming out of the SV section because there wasn’t much interesting stuff coming out of the mobile games (but I’ll take Terastalisation in Masters and Pawmot in UNITE) and Z-A’s exciting new stuff was overshadowed by the disappointment of the leaks being confirmed true for real this time and the absence of the Kalos starter Megas because I’m impatient. The tracksuits were also cool to be fair. It’s nice to have something to wear that’s version-dependent but also looks cozy even if colour scheme wise they look like they swapped versions (and no way is Clavell letting you in with those outfits. I don’t care they have the school’s emblem on them at least the New Uniforms (which I also don’t consider to be correct uniform, just Clavell giving up and I guess maybe considering a uniform change because Team Star wanted to wear them instead of the actual uniform) are worn by characters in-universe. The tracksuits aren’t worn by anyone). Also looking forward to the Aardman collab) and a possibility of the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords getting this as well I just think that might be too many previously shiny-locked Legendaries and Mythicals getting their shinies released for one game most people are trying to move on from. If the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords aren’t considered then I think it’s slightly more likely that the Loyal Three would be

Ogerpon and Pecharunt: I just don’t see it happening. The others work in a way due to being in groups which for some reason makes them more likely (maybe because you can just announce them all at once). I think Pecharunt specifically requires it to be done with the Loyal Three as well. For some reason Pecharunt’s shiny feels like it was designed with the intention of being distributed at some point but I think my brain is just on something (not to be confused with being on to something)

Terapagos: I do think it’s more likely than the above tier but I also realised when making the tier list that if it is distributed it kinda can’t go in a raid because its Tera type can only be Stellar and the Stellar Tera type can’t be used in a raid as the raid boss. It just turns all the other raid dens invisible

I think I’m gonna have to start making a post trying to explain (headcanons only) how their shinies could exist because a lot of them don’t really have room for shinies lore-wise (the Ruinous Quartet were likely only made once (and Chien-Pao and Ting-Lu only had one of their respective treasures to transform from), Ogerpon’s lore only makes sense if there was only one species, same goes for Pecharunt, the Loyal Three were probably only transformed once, Koraidon and Miraidon were only (mentioned to be) brought to the present day twice each with neither instance being shiny, Terapagos is the only remaining member of his species)

Like why is he a Speedster when he’s only the third fastest Eeveelution (beaten by Jolteon of course and also Espeon, the latter of which is in the game as an Attacker) and Speed is his third highest stat (beaten by Attack and Defense. Surely All-Rounder would have made sense. I literally think I would have given him any of the other roles except Supporter and even then it probably has enough moves whose only purpose is to heal and/or only work in double battles or similar formats in the core series)
