So... Remember how I said I wanted to watch/rewatch too many shows at once and dunno how to pick just one?

I ended up going with The Catch because... well... my old crush on Simm reared its head + the premise (okay, not the premise of the show itself, but specifically Rhys) seemed right up my alley.

I wasn't wrong. I love Rhys. He's my British bi thrill-seeker gangstah baby ❤️

But I gotta say — the show did him dirty. I mean, I'm already upset it was cancelled so soon but that 'mockingbird' plot twist is just... ridiculous?

Anyway, I’m adding Rhys here, because of course I do, and maybe I will add some other muses if I actually watch the first five eps of S1 (yes, I started with Rhys' first ep 😎) + rewatch the rest playing more attention to other storylines.

A look of genuine confusion crosses the Master's face — the way the Doctor asked that question sounded not like she disagreed with that title specifically ( and God knows, some of the Doctor's incarnations are quite particular about being addressed that or this way mocked the one who preferred to be referred to as the Master, exclusively and universally ) but more like... she wasn't aware it could be applied to her?

But then the golden light washing over her hands and how unsteady she looks on her feet make the puzzle click — the Doctor must have just regenerated, and considering how much of a gamble it always seems to be for them ( which is not exactly surprising for the amount of lessons they skipped or slept through in the Academy... if anything, the fact that they manage to regenerate into someone attractive every time is more surprising ), she most likely doesn't know yet that her new face is female.

Don't you have a mirror in your TARDIS, Doctor?

Unbidden, the memories of his own first days as Missy come to the forefront of his mind, and he feels a small stab of sympathy towards the Doctor, knowing that adjusting to presenting as a Time Lady for a change takes some time.

Not that the Master is going to be of much help.

Certainly not after she evidently failed to recognize him, once again ( even though she might not have met this face of his yet, it still hurts, deep down inside, the fact that he could recognize his old friend and best enemy practically anywhere, no matter what they look like, as if something deep in his mind, his hearts, his soul just whispers "that's him", and the Doctor... can't ).

The bitterness of that thought easily swallows the morsel of sympathy, and the Master smiles, polite and slightly sheepish, as if taking the Doctor's question to mean exactly what it didn't – preference in title:

“ I'm sorry if I was too hasty in my assumptions, Mademoiselle..? ”

He goes as far as to reach out a hand to her in greeting, his smile and slightly raised brows and the meaningful pause in the place where the surname usually goes indicating he's waiting for her to introduce herself.

If the Doctor doesn't recognize him, he's not going to make it easier for her.

"Why are you calling me “madam”?" head is spinning, hands glowing, lingering post-regeneration energy beneath the surface of her skin.
