Stephen posted a video to Instagram: Most of the Team is in Ottawa for Al and Merabs fight so we had the place to ourself. Dylan, Katlyn and I tried some fun stuff with the landmine. Without Jammer Arms for the rack and a new cable coming for the crossover, I like to work the landmine where we can start with generating ground force up the chain and yet let the right and left arms run in natural striking trajectory as opposed to the shoulder flexion ranging about 130-140 degrees which naturally occurs with the landmine when releasing the arm. So we anchor it to the side of the rack and accommodate the resistance with bands. I am a fanatic for pulling and grip strength. These are ancillary pulls with the same set up as for the strike, but the sleeve of the bar serves as a nice imitator of forearm circumference . Of course such pulling movements can be achieved a host of easier ways, but I am after the marriage of imagery with biomechanical applications here. That is just finishing with a movement that allows one to see and feel a fight specific/grappling application while enhancing the periphery's capacity to execute it. I have no data for this but imagery has some support behind it so maybe the marriage of it with the movement execution offers unforeseen benefits. If not, they are still increasing ripping force and power. This is our first run through so much we can improve. However - Primum non nocere - fulfilled. http://bit.ly/2GZNAUd

Fight Science Institute Team is truly excited to collaborate with Purmotion on the development of their Combat Sports Division. Future collaborations will include research,.seminars, certification, and efforts to advance fight performance through Purmotions equipment and training systems. FSc-I cofounder, Tony Ricci, considers this a tremendous opportunity to work with Jorge Bonnet, Purmotions founder, a CSCS, and 5X Olympian in Judo and Bobsled. "For years i have attempted, with minimal success, to construct scores of vector forces and training applications that Purmotion affords seamlessy," states Ricci. Bonnet and Ricci appreciate what may be deemed more -conventional- strength training methods. However they see the potential of further advancing fight performance through Purmotion which affords joint smart movements whether basic loaded applications or loading the body safely across a multitide of fight specific foce vectors. Tony and Jorge will be together for the Purmotion Discovery Day at the Purmotion Training Center in Pelham, Alabama on May 14th, along with some of the nations top wrestling coaches. — view on Instagram http://bit.ly/2VmgkzO

A major highlight of this past FSc-I seminar on Saturday was watching the respect and immediate bond amongst these great women fighters, crossing the disciplines of Kickboxing, Boxing, and MMA. The FSc-I Team was honored to have them join us. I love wotking with women in fightsports. My experience, when a woman asks you be part of her team, consider it an honor as their dedication to their team is unsupassed. I have been very fortunate to train with three of these great fighters and had the honor of finally meeting Maureen Shea this weekend, working her performance training with the great Phil Daru. Stephen posted a video to Instagram: #Repost @fightshape_ricci ・・・ Sometimes i like to explore and ATTEMPT methods to determine if the training we are doing may be directly impacting a given skill due to the enhancement of a targeted biomotor quality. I understand that we are measuring a skill, hence if the skill improves so may the timimg through which it can be applied. I also understand that the the proper execution of a skill in competition may correlate greatest to setting it up, timing of when it is applied. This is also true of course of nearly all biomechanical and neuromuscular qualities we test. My current method forTesting - shot speed - is riddled with uncontrolled variables, but it is a start. Over the distance we standardized for Katlyn it has improved by nearly 4/10s of a second. I cannot prove it has something to do with my training protocols, just as no performance coach can concusivley prove their training protocols were expressed as enhanced qualites in competition; despite the absolute certainty in which some claim. Nevertheless, what I do know is I have not slowed it down and occasionally incorporating these testing applications can be fun if facilitied properly. Both proactive and reactive tests are taken and measured, shown is a proactive shot initiated at Katlyn's will. And thanks to Greg and Max for the great field tools from @exsurgo.us http://bit.ly/2tUnBr8
