Streaming on Netflix as of 11/29/2015
So I searched the AFI 100 movies on Netflix to see what is available right now for streaming and was quite surprised to find that 19 are available, some real heavyweight films too. All of these films are also streamable at Amazon as well:
This will make our job much easier, as our goal is to spend as little money as possible.

Made a Bucket List.
This weekend, my wife and I decided to start writing a huge bucket list. There were many great things on there that will take a ton of money and life changes to make them happen, however the one thing that we both really wanted to do that is TOTALLY doable now, and for nearly nothing, is to watch every single film on AFI's 100 GREATEST AMERICAN FILMS OF ALL TIME. We went to the AFI website and got the list to see what it consisted of and how many of the movies we already had. Luckily, we already own about 15 of these movies, so getting started will be no problem. We decided to set up some basic criteria for completing this project.
1) We have to watch every movie, regardless if we have seen it a million times already. This will be no problem, who doesn’t want to watch The Wizard of Oz, It’s a Wonderful Life, or Star Wars again? We are not giving ourselves any real timeline here, it’s a bucketlist, not a race, however, we would like to get as many of them in as possible within a one year period for no other reason than pure entertainment and writing about it here. The goal is volume enlightenment.
2) You might be thinking here, “Oh, they could probably just watch them all on Netflix.” At last check, there are only about 12 or 13 of these that are streamable, and Netflix rotates out their streamable movies from time to time, so they might not even be available to watch by the time we get to them.
3) This one we are not sure about yet so maybe you can help us. We are still trying to decide whether or not we have to watch them in order, either 100-1, or 1-100. Sure, we could just start watching them in whatever order we’d like, but this would probably lead us to watching all of the best ones first and saving all of the ones that don’t look too enticing for last, which knowing myself really well, would most definitely lead to the end of this list before ever voluntarily watching Titanic out of interest...(yes, I’ve never seen Titanic. Cameron sucks, but we’ll talk about that when we get there.)
Our plan is to watch them and then post our thoughts here on the blog as a document of our adventure. Would you like to follow along with us? Let us know.
