So @phantom-sith tagged me in a post to list the last 5 things I googled for a fic! For some reason it's not letting me reblog from that post. I'm thinking it's because someone who has me blocked is tagged in it somewhere. However I still wanted to share because I haven't been tagged in a while.

Plus this was fun as my brain is so fried from Grad School. I had a hard time at first remembering what I googled for a fic. I've been so busy googling stuff for school. So I looked through the most recent chapters of my fic and it triggered memories of google.

1.) Charles Worth New York Store (Trying to figure out exactly where people bought House of Worth dresses without going to Paris)

2.) Catherine Donovan (House of Worth dresses were exclusively sold at this woman's 5th Avenue boutique. She however was also a famous fashion designer herself. She designed and made clothes for NYC's elite like the Astors and Rockefellers).

3.) Costume Designs Marguerite Faust

4.) Prophylactics 19th Century (Things I already knew but I like to go down rabbit holes and see if I can learn new things)

5.) High Striker (what I finally came across as the name for the device after googling hit thing with mallet ring bell so then I googled it with the proper name)

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.
