T/N: With both Misono, Mikuni, and in the Swimwear Team, Lily’s words are the ones he always uses when he starts to strip - It literally means “bare one’s skin”, but it also means helping someone, so I tried matching it with something that can refer to both stripping and uh, something that’s not stripping. For Swimwear in particular, Lily says “Let’s [hadanugu] in the literal sense”, but “take off” doesn’t literally mean taking off clothes by itself, so I added “our clothes” to show that this time, Lily is not being ambiguous lmao

Also he’s trying to be a good bro to Jeje and he’s so protective of Misono and the twins I love him T_T

With Otogiri, he literally says “Hello, lovely lady”, but that sounded... kinda creepy in English (while in Japanese, Lily always speaks very politely. 10/10, being in his presence makes you feel Very Respected.), so I tried to alter is a bit to keep the flirty/compliment part without making him into a creep. Also, that fourth wall break with Otogiri lmao.

I had most of this lying in my drafts for ages. Just waiting until I finally pulled Dodo.

TN: Took quite a bit of liberty with his line towards Mahiru. “Let’s do our best” is actually “Yoroshiku”, which is mostly said when meeting someone new (”Nice to meet you”), but it also means “take care of me”, like in this case, Jun’s implying he’s counting on Mahiru to help with any monsters. And then “Don’t worry, I’m pretty reliable”... gave me trouble. He says “kou miete”, which is technically “Looks like this”, so literally it’d be “If you look at me like this, I’m reliable”, which... Made little sense. “kou miete mo”, with that mo at the end, is usually a “Even though I look like this” or “I may not look like it”, but there is no “mo”; apparently it can be used in that meaning without it, but tbh Jun looks plenty reliable to me, especially compared to Yumi and Tsurugi (I love them both but.........). So I went for something that kinda-sorta implies that he may not seem reliable instead.

Tsurugi draws in books, huh. Books he BORROWED, no less. Well. So that’s how it is then. Also Jun’s last sentence gave me some problems again. Like. I understood each of those words individually. Framing is definitely that “that guy” (aitsu = Tsurugi) has a habit (kuse aru). A habit to “kiite maaku suru” - listen to [???] and make marks. Who does he listen to? ... yeah wish I knew. “Yumi ni hannin dake”. So, “Yumi ni kiite” would be “listen to Yumi” (Tsurugi has a habit to listen to Yumi and make marks); “dake” means “only”, so if it were “Yumi dake ni kiite” it’d be that he has a habit of only listening to Yumi (Note, though, that “dake” means “only this [much], but it’s enough”; “only this [much] and it’s not enough” would be “shika”). Hannin means criminal, offender, etc, and the “dake” is technically at the wrong place to refer to Yumi. Literally it’d be something like “He has a habit to ask Yumi for only the criminal”, which doesn’t fit bc the criminal in this case is Tsurugi. Idk man. Jun uses words I know but then puts them in a sentence that still makes me go “?????”.

Also damn Tsurugi, just ask for the second ice cream serving lmao. I considered translating the last word (”kora”) as “Watch it”, it’s kinda just a general scold-the-other-person-word. (I have no reason to think so, but I personally like to imagine that Tsurugi just grabbed both ice creams/the entire package of ice cream, just bc it’d be funny)

C3 Trio Team is the same as it was with Tsurugi as the leader lmao.

T/N: So, in the Tsubaki & Higan dialog, Higan literally asks Tsubaki to “cheat well” or “gloss over” it, but that seems to mean “Tell Sham some good reason that’s not ‘I washed it’“ lmao. And Tsubaki’s answer is literally “there’s a limit to the amount of variations of an excuse for why the phone broke”, but that felt a bit redundant lmao. Also, Higan, pls. Check your pockets. I’ve washed money before, I think once or twice a DS cartridge, but...

Otogiri technically just says “The smell stays” or “the smell clings”, but while that sounded fine in Japanese, I felt like it was missing something in English. Higan’s last line in that dialog is literally just “Uncle feels inferior”, but I figured it’s because Otogiri sends him out when it’s cold (I’m on her side).

Also, he still uses “old man”/”uncle” for “I” a few times more often than I translated bc it sounded weird to me to let him say it Every. Single. Time.

That little pause before Tsurugi replies... T_T

TN: The words Sham uses with Bel are “tsume ga amai”, tsume meaning (among other things) the last few moves when playing Shogi, though it’s apparently used for losing focus etc near the end of stuff in general.

And the word Shuuhei uses, which I put as “mixed feelings”, also means complicated, so his line could’ve also been translated as “It’s complicated”. Love how Sham and Shuuhei are like “Wtf is going on??” while Yoshimasa is just vibing.

Also, with most of Team Melancholy, Shamrock uses “kisama”, which is like, SUPER rude in current day Japanese (hence why, when Misono uses it, it’s often translated as Bastard). Tsubaki is, of course, Young Master, but I love how polite he is with Otogiri. That’s a gentleman right there lmao. Also, what I’m gathering from their dialogue is that Otogiri is ripped af so she can make her own soba.

Wow I often forget how great Yoshimasa is bc like... He did not get much focus... But then I look at this and. I love him lmao. I want him back, idk how that’d work, but he’s fun.

Loving the implication that Hyde occasionally asked Hugh to tell him love stories, maybe that’s where he got the “Ophelia let’s run away together!” from. ... Maybe I’ll now Headcanon that Hyde likes to read Shoujo mangas. Maybe.

T/N: I’m actually really unsure about that sentence just before the choice (”I didn’t ask...”). Just very literally word-by-word translationg would have been “Didn’t ask ‘Takuto wants to go to an amusement park with you’“ or “Didn’t listen ‘Takuto wants to go to an amusement park with you ’” (Since “kiku” can mean both ask and listen). So it could’ve also been “I didn’t ask Takuto if he wanted to come along” or “Takuto didn’t listen when I asked him if he wanted to come along” or “You didn’t listen when I mentioned that Takuto wants to come along”, or “Takuto didn’t ask me whether he could come along”, or... You get the gist. I do love how according to Jun, Taku-chan says he wants to go with the player. Not his dad. The player. Sorry Jun lmao, my kid now.

Takuto is very precious and must be protected at all costs. Also, I honestly really love how in every one of this trio’s routes, at least one of the others is mentioned. In Jun’s, he mentions Tsurugi at the end. In Yumi’s, Tsurugi talks during his phone call with you and he gets a call from either Tsurugi or Jun. And in Tsurugi’s, Tsurugi talks about going to the beach with Jun and Yumi and what they did there together. They care so much about each other and I love that that’s shown, y’know?

Gear of Night Trick Event: Character Cards

The new event is kind of like a visual novel; I don't know yet how I'll format the Event itself, but the character cards are kinda neat and can stand on their own. You get them when you start a new game.

Sometimes he looks for fairies, hunts ghost, and solves supernatural incidences together with Gear, and sometimes he doesn’t.

A werewolf who gets called “Gear” by Youtarou. Since he doesn’t age, nobody knows how old he is. He turns into a wolf during nights with a full moon.

He likes the newest household appliances and cocoa.

So we’ve run into a medium-sized issue.

See, there’s a new event starting at noon-ish on April 1st. And because of that event, I can’t access anything else. And I hadn’t saved Jun’s route yet, and only about half of Yumi’s route.

So, if any of you happen have any record (screen recordings, script, whatever) of Jun’s and Yumi’s White Day Events, could you message me? Or if for some reason you still have access to the normal Tanaka Box, could you make a screen recording etc of their routes for me (and everyone who wants to date Yumi and Jun)?

T/N: Lily talks so politely; it’s hard (for me at least) to show that in English without it sounding like he's showing off, but he talks like an absolute gentleman. Very friendly and polite, 10/10, you feel very respected in his presence.

When he mentions Misono inviting you, he actually copies Misono’s style of speech - Translated more literally, it would be “Misono probably invited you, saying ‘We’ll hold a birthday party!’“, so he quotes Misono.
