Note to self: it's hard to read silver sharpie. Day four of trying to find the good and feel lucky and blessed. Today I had another cry positive day, and here are my #3awesomes 1. The night sky. My family lives way up on a mountain, not near any big towns or any lights, so when I let my cats out at night and look up, it's amazing. Literally awesome. There are so many stars and the rest of the sky is so black. Makes me feel tiny, which brings me to number 2. Feeling part of something bigger. Who knows what's out there, but realizing we live in this planet in this galaxy and there is so, so much more out there, or thinking about being part of one giant consciousness...that kInd of stuff makes me feel good. 3. Good friends. I know, sorta mundane after thinking about the galaxy, but so true. #ILOB #BLESSED #WHYDIDILEAVECAPSLOCKON? #sorryfortheyelling

Day two of trying to convince myself I'm incredibly lucky and outrageously blessed. Today has been harder than yesterday, probably because I didn't get enough good quality sleep and it's a Saturday but my husband is working instead of home. Normally, I probably would've gotten sucked into being negative. Knowing that I am taking on this challenge, though, is forcing me to look for the good, which was one of my goals. As you can see, today my #3awesomes are naps, sunshine, and podcasts. Naps because I am thankful that my daughter takes one every day, even if it is not as long as I might want it to be, and it gives me a chance to nap if I want to. Sunshine because being outside in it, even if it's not very warm, always makes me feel good. Podcasts because I'm so thankful that I can stay connected to the outside world even when I don't get that much adult conversation and even though I don't get very good radio reception up here on the mountain. I love being able to listen to almost whatever I want, whenever I want. #incrediblyluckyoutrageouslyblessed #ILOB #typematters #handlettered #typography #inspiration

I really, really, really like reading about psychology, how our brains work, how to make life better, how to be more positive, and anything even slightly related to that. Loving this book. Took the test to find out if I'm an optimist or a pessimist, but the scoring takes time and I haven't finished yet. So far seems like I'm in the middle.what about you? “Looking back, my choice to celebrate the awesomeness of my body and take good care of it through healthy habits rather than hating how it looked and trying to make it smaller and hoping that would bring health, was absolutely the best choice I could have made and my life is exponentially better in terms of my mental and physical health because of my choice to pursue HAES. But in this case I had to sacrifice something to get something better and what I had to sacrifice was my addiction to the pursuit of thin, the “good fatty” approval I got for being the world’s worst dinner companion constantly blabbering on about calories, points,  and drinking enough water.

If you try to change your body from a place of fear and hatred, guess what? If you lose weight, you’re still not going to like yourself.
If you try to change your body/health habits from a place of love and respect, guess what? You’ll love and respect yourself no matter what size you end up.
