A little bit of info, at 17 he has only just escaped for a little over a year. he’s slowly gaining weight back to a healthy size but it is still really small because of malnutrition and the neglect involved with his childhood.

I'm guessing you're mostly in and around water. Do you have gills, or is it more of a cetacean deal where you hold your breath very well? Or something else I've not thought of

okay uhm , I have gills that connect to my lungs, but I also have a functional human respiratory system so I when I’m not in water I breathe through my mouth or nose, and when I’m in water I breathe through my gills. And I could potentially drown if I breathed in the water with my mouth/nose(which I have learned from experience)
