The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after ever project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.

Attention all Ninjago tumblr artists and writers!

Masters of Zinejitsu is excited to announce our very first ninjago fanzine-

Elements of Sentiments!

Elements of Sentiments is about bringing artists and writers across the fandom (or at least the tumblr side) together, with the purpose of putting a spotlight on your favorite ships! Our goal is to pair one artist and one writer and assign them a ship. The pairings will then create a collaborative piece of art + a short ficlet inspired by one of four themes. Angst, Jealousy, Crush, and Comfort. Both the ship and theme will be assigned based on personal preference. However it is important to keep in mind that only one ship is allowed per pairing (with five ships per theme). So it is likely you will not get your first choice.

While it is always nice to have a partner in mind, that is not required! We will be pairing up single individuals based on preferences. If you have someone in mind you want to collaborate with you will have the option to put that on your application when the time comes. You have a week from now to get your ducks in a row in that regard. We also ask that you have your portfolio’s/example pieces ready to go and visible without having to request access ahead of time. One last thing! We are limiting our acceptance to ships to Ninja X Ninja OR ninja adjacent characters. So no OC’s or self-ships. We are also limiting our accepted content to canon or canon-compliant AU’s only (as there are some ships on here that haven’t met/haven’t interacted in canon in a very long time). This is so our scope is more focused and cohesive. We do have future plans for OC and AU zines however so there’s always next time!

Applications will be opening up next Sunday June 22nd at 12 PM PST. Until then we will be introducing our mod team. Feel free to check out our FAQ *link that here*, and if you still have any questions shoot an ask our way!

if you wanna know how a writer does something you can just ask them btw. no need to wallow in awed mystery. a lot of writers are always down to yap about Da Process. and even if they aren't, provided you are nice about it, they usually won't mind you asking. just be prepared that sometimes the answer will be "brother i also have no idea"

I'm being so serious guys if we keep running into this issue of untagged spoilers: block the person.

As much as I hate just blocking people off the bat, this is ridiculous. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me that I have to completely avoid the main tag because I just saw THREE untagged spoilers in two minutes. Ridiculous.

Don't give them the time of day. Block, move on. They can only get you once if you block them.

As much as I want to put these people on blast, I myself do not have the authority for any of that, and there's only so many people I can get to.

Block the person, and the next one, and the next one. Even if they're your moots. Your peace deserves to be protected, don't let some bozo ruin a season for you out of inconsideration.
