Suzanne collins wrote a trilogy where a main media propaganda strategy was to market a horrific act of violence as a love story to distract ppl and then it got adapted into a box office breaking movie and ppl made it all about the love triangle. so then since they didn’t get the point the first time Suzanne collins wrote a prequel story about the main dictator and she makes it so that you as a reader want it to be a genuine love story so badly even tho it’s so very clearly not and instead feels extremely unsettling to make her point even more meta which then gets adapted into another box office breaking film and now ppl are making romantic snowbaird tik toks. do u think she’s gonna write another book that’s somehow even more blatant or just give up and start executing ppl? hard to say but I wouldn’t blame her for the second one

I personally choose to believe that the Hunger Games series is supposed to be Katniss's memoir/way of setting the record straight about her and her loved ones part in the Games/war. Meaning I think the entire country of New Panem was going into a FIT with every new chapter they read, let alone book. Just imagine the podcasts for a second.

That baby reveal??? Had the country in SHAMBLES when they realized Peeta was lying. Her editors probably told her to just keep that out and she probably just said "why?? I have actual kids now, it's fine." The tabloids are blowing clear the fuck up all day every day. Peeta's hijacking??? People already knew but they didn't know EVERYTHING. God, those podcasts were LIT.

Mags Flanagan

After watching tbosas i realized that Mags' games were only shortly after Lucy-gray. So snow was probably trying to build up the games and had crazyy ideas that he was trying and Mags still won. Also at that time (unless i missed it) District 4 wasn't a careers district, so i assume Mags helped to shape it into one, through mentoring.

Mags was old enough to remember the war and the dark days, she was probably old enough to remember the reaping of the first games even if her name wasn’t in the pot then. 

Mags was 16 when she won, and Coral was 16(ish). Even if they weren’t friends Mags would have probably seen her around town/ in school and on reaping day. Even if they didn’t know each other Mags probably knew that a girl from her district was able to make it far enough in the games, whether she finds out before or after she arrives in the capitol is a different story.

  The point is her Hunger Games weren’t that different from the games Lucy Gray was in.

This means the tributes were probably still kept in the zoo and treated inhumanely. As well as the mentoring program, where they had to be presented to the capitol. (But they probably stopped them from seeing the arena beforehand)

She was the victor of the first year Snow would have a say in the games and was a reminder of the start of his “new life” as he tried to remove the rebellion. Then 64 years later she dies in the last hunger games Snow will ever see, trying to protect the symbol of the rebellion. 

Her story has the same factors as Snow, but they are completely different. Both remember the war, both existed at the same time, both were mentors in the games, and both were in the arena and were scarred mentally from it.  Yet she never let it change her nature, and remained as sweet and caring as possible. 

I just love her so much <3

the hunger games has been my roman empire since i read when it when i was 10 and here are all of my smaller empires bc this has always been my favourite series ever:

the tributes being treated to a life of luxury both as a “last meal” sort of thing and as a way to make them more vulnerable for the games. keeping them well fed before the games so the starvation hits harder

how perfect katniss’ character was. i was a little girl and i wanted to be exactly like her when i grew up. she wasn’t the cliche “doesn’t need anyone accepts this specific guy that will always save her” she saved peeta, and some times peeta saves her

probably the overdramatic english lit nerd in me but katniss’ hair going from intricate braids to messy ponytails

what happened to finnick

how well written and realistic the books were. peeta loses his leg to the infection, katniss loses her hearing in one ear, finnick suffers from extreme ptsd and it shows in district 13, peeta not being an easy fix. he still suffers years later, but he slowly pieces himself back together. Johanna’s anger, people often don’t like the fact that ptsd DOES make you angry, haymitch’s backstory and effie’s growth.
