Another example of ridiculous gendered parenting, the harm it does and how early it starts.

Tiktok OP's pronouns are he/him.

What you should and shouldn't do about censorship in 2025:
DO:
✅️ Spread the word on all platforms that you have an account on.
✅️ Sign as many petitions as you can.
✅️ Call, email, and fax your Senators and representatives about KOSA, the Screen Act, the BEARD bill, the HR 9495 bill, and COPPA 2.0.
✅️ Call Visa and MasterCard.
✅️ Cancel YouTube Premium if you have it.
✅️ Find alternatives for YouTube and refuse to use it at all on August 13th and for every day afterward until they remove their age verification policy.
✅️ Save everything that is important to you on USBs.
✅️ Protest.
DON'T:
🚫 Submit any form of ID to any social media platform or website.
🚫 Comply with censorship regulations of any kind.
🚫 Let anyone tell you that this is to "protect the children." If they wanted to protect kids, they would release the Epstein files and arrest everyone in them.
🚫 Give up.

Hey kiddos, I just want to put this out there:
If you only just found out about the YouTube boycott today, you can still participate. Take the day to download videos that you want to watch, and then you can join us tomorrow. As long as you’re willing to start, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with starting late.

things to do instead of youtube
Obviously you can go do anything, but this one is specifically for people who listen to youtube to fall asleep or in the background of work or whatever:
-twitch streams
-catch up on shows and movies youve been meaning to watch on various streaming services (I say use the legit services because youtube can compare their drop in traffic to the spike in traffic at lets say netflix. Obviously pirating exists, but the data from another legit service helps slap youtube in the face again)
-pick your fave creator and subscribe to their patreon (also helps support them while they take the hit from people leaving youtube)
-podcasts (tons of youtubers also have a podcast, and you can support them by listening here!)
-audio books
-audio dramas (im starting the magnus archives, relistening to welcome to night vale, and theres a couple batman ones too i wanna check out)
-go seek out new music! Ask friends to make you playlists of songs they recommend, or take a chance on a new soundcloud artist, or go find your favorite band and listen to their entire back catalogue
-noisescapes! You dont need youtube to find ambient noise to listen to, plenty of other sites make these or even allow you to customize your own
-physical sound machines, like white noise machines or those stuffed animals that play sounds. Yes, theyre for babies. Yes, you can buy and use them too. Im 30 and I have a sleep sheep- my favorite is the rolling waves and distant thunder setting
-videos on vimeo and dailymotion. Right now these are youtubes most directly analogous competitors. Driving their site traffic up might make youtube think they do in fact have viable competition

I just wanna warn as many people as I can, that yesterday youtube rolled out a new policy using generative ai, and guess that a user is +18, or not, depending on what you watch. If they think you're a minor, they're gonna ask for your ID. So if you can, DO NOT OPEN youtube for a while!

Reminder: do not open YouTube on August 13, and do. Not. Give. Your. ID. To. YouTube.
When you open the site, it’ll probably say “hey, we think you’re a minor, so show us your ID or we won’t let you watch videos made for not kids.” Don’t. Don’t do that.
If you need something to watch or listen to at work or something, find some videos now and download them off the site to watch or listen to locally. But don’t give Google the last piece of information they don’t have about you, don’t accept that this is an okay thing to have happen, don’t be complicit in it. Listen to every computer class from the 90’s and don’t give random companies and corporations on the internet your ID. It’s that simple. Spend a day watching streams on Twitch or watching podcasts with video on Spotify, or pick up that game that’s been sitting in your Steam library for eight months, the one you keep saying you’ll play but don’t get around to. Or read that book you thought you’d be interested in, but put aside when your friend sent you a meme and that sent you into a rabbit hole of Wikipedia links. Or listen to a new band - any band will do, maybe try some genres you don’t normally listen to and pay attention to how the patterns of time signatures and instruments shifts through genres and years, and how it stays the same.
Just don’t open YouTube, and don’t. Give. Them. Your. Fucking. ID.

If YouTube’s new AI flags you as “underage” and asks for an ID or your face, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.
Uninstall the app. Close the browser. Leave a 1 star review on the App Store and/or Google Play Store. Call them if you can, and don’t email as there aren’t any humans that see those.
Let them know that this new policy unfairly targets gamers, those with autism, those who watch cartoons, etc. It was never about protecting the kids.

Youtube Blackout (important)
I’m basically just restating a couple of other posts so that hopefully more people will be aware.
Tomorrow, August 13th, Youtube rolls out a new policy that uses generative ai to guess whether a user is 18+ based on the maturity of the videos they watch. Anyone who watches ANYTHING related to cartoons, video games, kids media, etc, will be targetted.
If you continue to use their services once you have been warned, they will “request” your ID and other personal information from you. This is a major privacy violation. If you do not give your personal info, you will be banned.
Starting tomorrow, until the decision is reversed, there is going to be a blackout where (ideally) nobody uses Youtube to force their attention.
I want you all to participate, if possible. Download videos beforehand if you need something to watch during the blackout. Censorship will continue to get worse if we don’t retaliate.
Adult medias that feature gameplay and/or animation are just as susceptible. This affects everybody.
Please pass it on.

This is your daily reminder to keep bugging Youtube about their AI Verification Bot until they give up and scrap the plan. Whether it's through Email, or clogging up their phoneline with calls, keep pressuring them.
If it's working against the Credit Card companies, it's sure as shit gonna work against them too. We shouldn't have to give our faces and IDs to Youtube because some parents are too fucking stupid to look after their kids.

Want to add something to the whole "YouTube ID protest" thing- (More info about this here if you need it)
If you're participating in refusing to use YouTube from the 13th of August until the ID policy is lifted, there is a chance you might accidentally use YouTube in one way or another.
Muscle memory, autopilot, a misclick, any number of things, please don't let that mistake cause you to give up! We are human, we make mistakes, but as long as you correct it and continue the protest it will reduce the damage and keep the viewership loss on YouTube high, increasing the chance of success! That's what matters, that we keep trying. We need to show that even if we trip and fall, we'll just get back up and keep going!
I believe in you, even if you make a mistake, I'll keep believing in you, as long as you keep trying!
We will succeed. We refuse to be tracked or censored. We deserve our privacy!
Privacy is a human right, NOT a privilege!

YouTube is implementing an AI policy that tracks your watch history and determines your age with it. The only way to be able to continue watching the videos you want on YouTube if you've been falsley flagged as a minor by their AI is to give YouTube your government ID. This is being implemented in the US right now. It is essential to rage against this and put YouTube in the fucking ground if they continue with it—that may be the only way to make them backtrack. But damn isn't that hard to do when responding to this announcement with a polite but negative comment flags you for violating community guidelines and bans you from even posting it?

If you don't mind me asking, why do you enjoy drawing mold? I do not mean this in an accusatory or judgemental way, I'm genuinely curious.
I like taking inspo from weird stuff. It’s not about mold, more so challenging myself to exploring topics beyond the norm
