“That’s actually a pretty smart idea.” Pidge admitted. Really, food wasn’t her forte, never had been (her consolation was that out of the cadets in the Garrison, managing to fuck up boiling water was not something she’d done). “We should propose that after dinner, since dinner’s probably either in progress or done.”

“I have some good ideas” Keith replies with something like a smile sneaking onto his lips. Not pride, but more amusement.

Keith nearly began drooling as they made it into the coridor that the kitchen was in. “It smells so good from here--” he sighed happily, pace quickening before he hand to stop walking fast as his side began to hurt from the last battle. A bruise was blooming across his side no doubt, but he underestimated how much it would hurt.

   He huffed as he rubbed at his jaw, “We agreed no face shots.” He spat out, falling silent as Keith took a few steps as he opened and closed his mouth to make sure it was still functional…event though he just used it. 

    His gaze softened a bit as he rubbed at it a few more times before nodding a bit. “Yeah…It’s fine. Probably just a bruise.” He grumbled out before he paused a bit, getting back into his stance. “Round three?” He asked, rolling his shoulders as he looked to him. 

“I know… I know.” Keith replied a little quieter than he mean fists clenched at his sides, fingernails trying to dig into his palm.

Patience Yields Focus.

Keith finally exhaled, tension in his muscles ebbing away slowly. “Why don’t we go get what ever is the space equivalent of frozen peas to put on your jaw instead?” he offered, using his shirt edge to wipe away the sweat on his face. He took another pause, watching Lance. “I’m sorry...” he finally relents, a little begrudgingly and his stomach dropped as he said it. “I really didn’t mean to hit you” he adds finally.

He takes a few more steps back facing Lance before turning away. He pauses briefly to lean down and get his coat before standing at the door and shrugging it on, waiting for the other.
