Masquerade // Honey Lemon & Firebird

Honey would without a doubt consider herself a party person. She loved dancing and music and food and people … This big ballroom with loads of people in different masks made her very excited but at the same time the blonde couldn’t help the creeping loneliness that made it’s way into her head.

She couldn’t recognize anyone. And if anyone recognized her, they weren’t much paying attention to her. With a sigh, Honey Lemon turned back to the snack table, fussing with the skirt of her blue gown. Maybe that was the issue. Honey always wore yellow or pink or white or something. She wasn’t that accustomed to blue.

At the sound of a familiar voice, Honey spun around, a slight gasp escaping her lips as she saw her friend. “Uruvion!” the chemist giggled happily. At his invitation, Honey blinked quickly up at him, a shy smile gracing the corners of her lips.

“Sure but … I’m really no good at ballroom dancing- or more like I’ve never tried…” Honey twisted her hands nervously, biting her lower lip as she glanced, almost longingly, over at the other dancers.

Urúvion hadn’t expected to wind up in such a situation but somehow he just couldn’t help it. It was likely due to the fact that the event heavily reminded him of the festivals he and his siblings would secretly attend many years back. But who could say for sure? At least he’d managed to find one familiar aura throughout the sea of masks.

He couldn’t help the amused smile that managed to make its way onto his face as he noticed Honey’s apparent nerves. “It’s not that difficult.” He reassured as he held out a hand to her. “I know your more then smart enough to figure it out quickly.”

The phoenix shifted about on the branch he was perched on as he was spoken to. ‘I am not.’ he assured, voice ringing through the girl’s mind. ‘I was simply resting here for a time until I felt ready to head off once more.’

Curious...he didn’t notice it before but it was far clearer now that she was a tad closer to notice then it had been. It seemed that she had a sense of royalty about her. Not exactly a queen however, more of a princess. If that were so, what was she doing here as opposed to being back at the castle?

‘If I may ask...’ he soon spoke up with a click of his beak, ‘I notice that you carry an air of being royalty, if that’s so then what is her highness doing in the forest as opposed to the castle?’ He asked, head tilting to the side slightly.

“Not exactly the same.” Firebird confirmed with a nod. “There will be some similar lessons, but that’s it.” As the two approached the pond he waved a hand to indicate that Elsa should step closer to it.

Urúvion made sure to stand a safe ways away but close enough that he could step in should something happens. But, if all went as it should he’d only have to worry about water. “In order to better control the powers you have, it would be wise to learn how to also be able to control your base element as well.”

“You already are capable of it, and it should prove easy.” He explained before the queen could question. “Just move like you would when using your own powers but keep your focus on the water itself as it is.” It may have seemed like he wasn’t doing much to teach her, but this was the same way his sister taught him. She told him it had been to see what he was currently capable of already so as to learn what needed to be worked on the most.

In this case, though Elsa’s main power was ice and snow, she should easily be able to move water without even thinking about it, otherwise she would need to establish a better communication with the element.

“It should be fine, as long as there is a fountain or maybe small pond of sorts in the gardens.” He said as he followed Elsa outside, he figured that there likely was, a royal garden always had at the very least one fountain somewhere. It was cold out but he was warmed well enough that he shouldn’t have to worry too much if something happened.

As they walked he continued to explain what he’d begun to while inside. “What people now a days seem to have forgotten is that every element has a temperament of it’s own, it is it’s own being in a way.” His golden eyes glance over to the Queen beside him. “Have you, understood what I’ve said so far?” He asked, both to make sure she actually understood and to make sure he’d even been making any sort of sense in the first place.
