(Yes this really is the only good picture I have of Wrath right now, he’s come down with Ich but is recovering fast) I need some tank ideas, cause this fella will be getting tank makeovers alongside Sloth. Got any suggestions? Sloth and Wrath are both very dark bettas, so a nice theme would be sweet.

Bettas get the short end of the stick in England too

Everyday on tumblr I see posts about Petco, Petsmart and Walmart selling fishbowls and tanks so small not even a snail could live in. Often they are marketed for Goldfish or bettas!!

I’m shocked by the low standards of fish keeping in america.

Where I live, the minimum tank size for a betta is 15g. Yes, there are small tank kits but those are ALWAYS and STRICTLY only advertised for shrimps or snails. And I’m talking about tanks 5g or more! Bettas also are kept in filtered and heated tanks in pet stores and get a big bag with oxygen for transportation- just like any other fish.

It’s just so shocking to me that a country would not ban animal abuse like keeping fish in bowls and I just thought I’d share this with you.
