One thing that’s very clear about Faile’s first meeting with Perrin is that she thinks she’s So Cool.

And she’s is, tbf, pretty dang cool. She’s Hunter, despite being younger and more female than anyone imagines Hunters to be (she even makes a joke about like “maybe they didn’t notice me at the ceremony. It was crowded”). She’s more competent than some of her colleagues and she has cool ideas about where the Horn might be. And she can do a cool knife trick that impresses even the sailors around her.

But then Perrin is like “You have the same name as my horse” and that totally shatters her So Cool façade for like a minute and she very nearly lets him get the last word.

Idk. I think reading Faile as someone who thinks she’s So Cool is definitely a way to get a deeper understanding of her character.

I love Robert Jordan I really do, but I think it's bullshit that somehow corvids were made to be evil bastards who all indiscriminately serve the dark one. Have you met a crow ? Those suckers are the most unpredictable bird you've ever met, they're loyal to a fault and way to smart for anyone's good. If anything I'm pretty sure that a dark friend's scheme would fall flat once, a mama crow would get killed in the process and from then on every. single. one. of her friends would turn on anyone serving dark forces on sight. The betrayer ? Really ? You think a bird capable of holding grudges and sharing them to it's peers would serve someone called the father of lies ????? You really think that the smartest family of birds would just be born with "chaotic evil but only in so far as they obey a dickwad stuck in a hole in the fabric of reality" as default alignment ?

The wheel of time is amazing but I will not stand for this particular shit. Go back to school and learn a thing or two about animals, Jimmy

The thing about Wheel of Time is everyone in it is in an epic fantasy except the Forsaken, who are all in a workplace sitcom where everyone hates each other.

but in actuality I do think it would be fun if their stories on season 3 do intersect and they just become bffs

because Moiraine needs one, like Lan doesn’t count he’s her platonic husband that’s different, and Siuan is her estranged wife that’s also different, I think Thom & Moiraine coming together and exchanging friendship bracelets is what season 3 needs
