It was hot.

  As expected from the Sand Kingdom of course; it was hot and Koala didn’t like it at all. If anything she was a lot more used to the winds Baltigo and the ocean carried, bitterly thinking she would avoid Alabasta and similar islands for all of her worth in the future.

  “Excuse me,” gently calling out to an equally cloaked figure before her on the street Koala offered a smile, hoping the stranger knew her way around the land. ��Do you happen to know if there’s a café or the like around? A restaurant or bar would also be fine, this heat is wearing me down!” a friendly laugh and knowledge she was surely sounding like a tourist now.

Koala was aware of the members of the Straw Hat Crew, having seen their bounty posters a couple of times and being great with remembering faces; yet, it was no preparation that eased the surprise when seeing the boy’s tail. Because that... was an actual tail, was it not?

“Destroying the factory...?” Koala repeated, being taken aback by Crystal’s sudden outburst and change of topic. It took her a moment of confusion to put the pieces together, the realization slowly dawning upon her. So that was why they were in an alliance with a Warlord. “You Straw Hats will start a ruckus, won’t you? I need to get to the colosseum as well.” smiling, she hugged her friend quickly, “I’m glad I got to meet you again, Crystal.”

Crystal tapped her hands together nervously as she watched her best friend’s skeptical look. She sighed relieved when Koala gave her approval. “phew, thank goodness. I promise you’ll like him though, Koala. We should go see h- WAIT!! I FORGOT ALL ABOUT DESTROYING THE FACTORY!!!” Crystal shouted shocked as she completely forgot about what she was doing before running into Koala.

She was smiling, quiet triumphantly at that, and held up a finger to illustrate the rules. “Rule number one, whoever screams first loses, that’s all. Winner buys the other dinner, any complaints?” Koala was certain she would have some later when this was over, or even more likely way before that, but there was no harm in doing something new, was it? Watching horror movies with friends always held a special kind of excitement and making a competition out of it gave it another depth Koala didn’t mind trying out.

...And possibly never doing again.

“So do I, but I’ve been through worse before,” Koala gestured, moving the hand holding the bottle slightly while shrugging, the side of her lips turning upwards as she recalled some of them. “But being chased is definitely on the bottom part of the list.”

“Are you a pirate?”

No, she wasn’t. But while Koala wouldn’t deny being part of the Revolutionary Army, she wouldn’t outright say she was either. “Depends on your definition of one,” she paused to drink some more, “I’m... fighting for freedom, I guess you could say. I heard pirates love their freedom.”

“I’m Jenny.” said Jenny and smiled at Koala. “Nice to meet you. I wish I’d have met you under other circumstances tho.”

“What about you by the way?” she asked after a moment. “Are you a pirate?” Jenny was hoping Koala wouldn’t mind this question. Some people took it as some kind of insult if you ask them if they are a pirate.
