i think y'all would be happy to know that there's a korean musical adaption of dorian gray that just finished production. i had the opportunity to watch it and in it, not only are basil and dorian explicitly in love with each other (they made out three times on stage) but also it is heavily implied that henry and basil had a thing before henry got into a political marriage.

(spoiler + suicide tw!!)

additionally, instead of dorian killing basil per novel canon, basil takes his own life upon seeing dorian's changed portrait, and encourages dorian to leave with him. overcome with guilt and sadness, dorian takes his own life too and in his final moments, crawls to lay next to basil and hold his hand. and it ends with the portrait changing not just to dorian's youthful self, but dorian and basil embracing

i rise from the dead to have a mini spiel about my latest obsession - evilive (spoliers, duh)

i loved watching dongsoo's descend into madness, always a treat to watch a pathetic man discover he's insane.

but what i really loved was the distinction between him and beomjae. even though they started off going through the same things, and committing crimes, dongsoo changed with the power and money, accepting the mercedes and the expensive suits, changing the way he looked as well whilst, even though beomjae made money too, he still used his old ass phone and rides his motorbike. in the end, dongsoo let it all consume him whilst beomjae still maintained his morality and felt immense guilt over everything that he's done. we don't talk about his death ohmygod </3

I fucking hate that they killed off ojhae and detective ma. ohjae for purely personal reasons, i love the man, oohhh brooding hot loyal bodyguard, i need him so bad. and they didn't even make him go out in a decent respectable manner, 99.99% taken out by a falling car is crazy. BUT DETECTIVE MA? OH I'M MAD MAD ABOUT IT. he was literally one of the oNLY good characters and only ever wanted to help dongsoo and be a decent policeman. and dongsoo fucking betrayed him FOR WHAT REASON??? literally could have taken down any other of those bum but no, the one good man??? HE'S A FATHER FOR FUCKS SAKE TOO, WOULD NO BODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

on another note, shin hakyun is joining my list of ahjuicy right up there with ldw, i'm also watching beyond evil rn and i'm having a great time
