I'm a little bit obsessed with Shen Qingqiu insisting he isn't into Luo Binghe romantically and then the second he learns he's Luo Binghe's only love interest he takes 3-5 business days to reorient his world view and then comes to the conclusion that he's been recast as the fussy bottom. And he does the absolute most in fulfilling that role, too.

in wei wuxians second life, after everything he’s been through and all of the preconceived ideas he had about what lan wangji thought of him, he notes the change of how lan wangji treats him and is so quick to completely let go of that lingering resentment/confusion and trust fully that lan wangji truly does respect him, has his best intentions in mind, cares for him.

he doesn’t ever question lan wangjis motives, or wonder if he’s worthy of lan wangjis esteem. he’s confused at first, but only because he doesn’t understand it when faced with the reality of everyone else in the world hating him so much more now (cough jiang cheng) but once it’s revealed that lwj knew who wwx was the entire time, wwx processes that and is like okay chill love that for us.

like i really don’t understand how people characterise wei wuxian as someone who is oblivious or has low self esteem. he’s critical of decisions he’s made in the past, sure. but he never questions his own worth, when lwj made it clear that he wanted to be around wwx, even at the risk of his own reputation, wwx wasn’t horrified at the idea of someone as amazing and The lan wangji dirtying his hands by associating himself with worthless little wwx. he is touched, a bit shocked but he accepts it and doesn’t try to fight lwj on his decision.

ugh i just think wwx is such a great character 😭

why do people have to be so bitter and mean when they disagree with something i said. like it’s one thing to think im wrong but its another to insult my intelligence, especially bc you’re not even engaging in my post in good faith- just bringing up random things that i never even mentioned.

i’m not really that bothered to get deeply into arguing with u, i’ve already disputed a lot of what you’ve reference here with someone else but, lotus pier being burned down wasn’t because of wei wuxians feelings for lan wangji. it was burnt down because madam yus pride made her lash out against wen chaos favourite woman at the time.

i’m not that interested in ur personal feelings, nor am i saying that jiang cheng wasn’t allowed to be hurt. i was just directly referencing the fact that jiang cheng is a hypocrite, stuck in the past and bitter. it’s made pretty clear even just by his introduction in the novel.

i wasn’t doing a deep dive on jiang chengs psyche, nor a meta about wei wuxians and jiang chengs relationship- bc by the end of the novel there isn’t really a relationship to speak of.

it seems to me that ur angry about a lot of things i didn’t even mention in this post and i would rather if u made u own post to talk about irrelevant things next time, thanks.

it’s kinda wild how deep jiang chengs debts to wen ning and wei wuxian go. even without the knowledge of the golden core transfer. wen ning saved jiang cheng, retrieved zidian and his parents bodies. he brought them to safety and wen qing gave them medicine to recover. then wei wuxian gave up his only chance for a favor from an immortal, given to him from his mother whom jiang chengs family has spent their entire lives disrespecting, for jiang cheng to get revenge and continue cultivating. as the world turned against wei wuxian, do u ever think jiang cheng thought about this sacrifice wei wuxian made for him? that maybe if wei wuxian hadnt given up his chance for jiang cheng, he could have went to baoshan sanren for help. did he ever go to the ancestral hall where his parents were able to receive their full rights of burial only because of wen ning and think of the fact that his parents bodies probably would have been thrown into the burial mounds or burnt if wen ning hadn’t saved them.

i wonder if he ever thought about that when he yelled at wwx about unpaid debts, betrayal and disrespect.
