Second Chances has finally come to a close. Caryn and I had enjoyed writing for Mercedes and Sam and we would both like to thank all our followers who had supported our messiness. Happy was not enough to describe the way Mary was feeling at this moment. Her eldest son was not only married to the love of his life but he was also expecting his second little bundle of joy. Tears of joy began to gather in her eyes. She could not believe that she almost ruined her son's happiness all those years ago and yet as though they were destined to be together, the hands of fate had brought them back together again. Standing up, she went to both her son and daughter in law and kissed them both on the cheeks, "I am so happy for the both of you. I can't believe I'm going to have another grandchild. Congratulations, mom and dad." She went to grab her grand daughter from Kurt and kissed her on her chubby cheeks. "You're going to be a big sister, Diana." The one year old cooed and giggled, "That's right a big sister..."

Stevie made a face at his twin when she gushed over the news of their sister in law being pregnant. He was happy for his brother and Mercedes and wished every ounce of happiness for the both of them, they truly deserved it after all but being around so many people was giving him a headache. Being stuck in the tuxedo he was wearing was not helping matters either. Not wanting to be the only one who hadn't congratulated the happy couple, he said, "Congrats bro, I'm sure this baby will be as awesome as Diana." A brunette that was sitting beside him told him that he was being sweet and suddenly the day had gotten just a little bit better for him.

"What? You're pregnant?!" Sam didn't mean to shout out the news but he was too excited at that moment that the words flew out of his mouth before he could catch himself. He reached for his wife and kissed her passionately before peppering kisses all over her face. "I'm so happy, Mercy!" The guests began clapping and cheering, making the smile on his face grow even more.

The smile on his face grew larger as he listened to Kurt and Blaine's speeches. He had never been happier in life and he suspected that from this day forth he was going to be even happier. It was hard not to be happy when he was surrounded by the people he loved. "We have the best family and friends around." He told Mercedes as he kissed the back of her hand. Smiling at both his friends, he raised his glass after their speeches and said, "Thanks guys, we'll make sure to fill our home with two or three more adorable kids."

Blaine smiled when Kurt agreed to his suggestion and returned his kiss happily. "We should talk more about this after the wedding, right now I'm going to start the toast." He got up and lightly bang the dessert fork against the empty water goblet that he was holding. When he had gotten everyone's attention, he spoke, "Hi everyone, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Blaine Anderson, Sam's best man. I have known Sam it seems like forever now and I could not be happier that he has found the one for him." He looked at Mercedes, "Mercedes, you know I love you like a little sister and I'm not just saying this because Sam is my best friend but because it is absolutely true. You have made the right choice in choosing Sam. I don't think anyone could ever love you as much as he could so congrats you guys." He took the champagne flute on the table and raised it in the air, "To the happy couple, maybe they live happily ever after and fill their home with a lot more children."

Blaine smiled at the kissing couple sitting beside him. They looked so happy together, just like they should be. He could see Diana wiggling in her dad's arm and decided to take his god daughter from out of her parents hair for a minute. "Come to uncle Blaine, precious..." He cooed as he took the little one from Sam. Turning to his husband, he said, "I think that it's time we start a family, Kurt. What do you say? Should we give Diana a playmate?"

Sam sat little Diana Marie on his lap once he and Mercedes had taken their seats at the Head Table. “Are you having a good time, Mrs Evans?” He smiled brightly at his wife but quickly turned his attention back to his daughter who was reaching for the table knife. “She is dangerous…” He commented as he handed the knife to Mercedes.

Mercedes:

"I love you too Sammy." She whispered back to him before turning her attention to the pastor. They got to the vows and Mercedes had prepared a whole speech, but listening to Sam say his vows. All of it flew out of the window. Tears glistened down her cheeks. When Sam mentioned her mother, she looked up towards the sky with a smile on her face just imagining her mother looking down on her. "Wow, how could I compete with that?" She laughed and the guests laughed alongside her. She took at deep breath and continued. "Sam, when I lost my mother over thirteen years ago you were my light throughout all of the darkness. You pulled me out and helped me through those dark times." She paused and was about to continue her speech until she saw a blur in her peripheral vision.  She looked and saw her daughter walking towards. She urged her on and picked her up into her arms when she finally made it. "I’m so grateful that we are here today and that you have forgiven me for the past. You have given me the perfect daughter and best life that I could ever ask for." She squeezed her daughter into her side. "You’ve shown me what true love is like and I could never thank you enough. I love you Sam. Forever and always."

Sam: 

Seeing tears in her eyes made him want to swipe them away, he hated seeing his wife in tears. She had cried enough for a lifetime and he never wanted to see her in that state again but he knew that this time it was different. These were happy tears. His own started to fall as she recited her vows. Their daughter's appearance stopped the tears between them. "Hey, beautiful..." He smiled as Mercedes held her. Diana had a way of making everyone around her smile and that included him and Mercedes. He was so lucky to have the two women in his life. When the pastor told him to kiss his bride, he pulled her close and kissed her passionately, letting out a laugh when Diana smacked his cheek, wanting some attention from the both of them. Pulling back, he kissed his daughter on the cheek and took her from Mercedes. Turning to face their family and guests, he laced his fingers together with his wife's and headed towards the reception that was to take place a few steps away.

Mercedes:

When Mercedes thought of her wedding, the vision could never compare to what she was seeing right now. Everything was perfect and ten times better than her imagination. She got the flowers, the dress, the beautiful daughter and the guy. What more could she want? Kurt and Sam’s mother really outdone themselves to help put this together and it was so perfect. The sun was setting on another day as the pastor and her Sam waited for her under her and Sam’s special tree. The ceremony started off without a hitch as Mercedes got married for the second time to the love of her love.

Sam: 

They were back here again. After 12 years of love, heartbreak and reunion, they were back at their special tree, this time to say their vows in front of their friends and family. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like forever. True, they were already married but today was extra special because their beautiful daughter Diana was here to join them. A huge smile spread across his face as his beautiful wife made her way towards him. When she was by his side, he took her hand and whispered, "I love you," as the pastor presided over their wedding. He was first to say his vows. Turning towards his wife, he squeezed her hand and began, "Mercy, I think those closest to us could already tell that I've been in love with you since the first time I laid eyes on you. You are not only beautiful but also one of the strongest people I know." He thought of the months following her mother's death and started to choke up. "Just like I am, I know that your mom would be so proud of the woman you have become. I know she would be. She is probably watching us right now with a huge smile on her face. You are not only a great friend but also a great mom and wife to both Diana and I. This is where I say my vow. " He cleared his throat, "I promise that I will always love, you and take great care of you until we grow old and wrinkly together. Thank you for making me the happiest man alive and becoming my wife. I love you."

Notes: Sam and Mercedes welcomes Diana Marie Evans into the world

Warning: Excessive fluff and happiness. You might throw up from reading this. Lol. 

Mercedes looked away as the doctor did his business, only looking back when he was finished. He told her all of the necessary things before he left, reassuring her that everything was coming along fine. She cringed in pain and clamped her mouth shut as another contraction hit her. She breathed through the pain and only opened her mouth to speak once it had passed. “No Sam. I don’t want our baby to come into this world high on drugs. I’m fine and I can do this. Besides it’s all in my birth plan. I want a natural birth. Don’t you remember that Sammy?” She asked while shaking her head. “How did your call with Kurt and Blaine go? I know that he wanted to be here for this, but his work comes first. Are they still planning to visit in July?” 

Sam wanted to argue with Mercedes about getting the epidural. He couldn't stand seeing her in pain, every time a contraction would come, his stomach would drop but he didn't debate the matter. She was one of the most determined woman he had ever met and there was no arguing with her when she had set her mind to something. "Okay, baby. We'll stick to the plan. Just breathe like what they taught you in Lamaze class. Kurt squealed in my ears." He laughed at the memory, "He's also very excited for us. He wants pictures as soon as Diana makes her entrance. Yes, baby, we're still going to New York in July." He stopped talking when another contraction hit his wife. Holding her hand, he gritted his teeth when she bend his fingers back to the point where he honestly thought that she was going to break them. Smiling through the pain, he said, "You're doing so great, baby. You're such a trooper." Now if you'll only stop trying to break my fingers, that would be great. 

An hour passed with very little progress. The doctor had to give her pitocin to speed up labor and after another three hours, she was ready to push. His mom came in then with a huge smile on her face. He gave his mom a kiss and a hug and after Mercedes gave her consent for her to stay, she started pushing. He held up one side of her leg while his mom held up the other. She was screaming and cussing him out but he blocked out the hurtful words and concentrated on helping to bring his daughter into the world. Tears poured down his face, when he saw his little Diana make her entrance and heard the wail that she emitted. The feeling was indescribable. "She's so beautiful..." He said through the blur of his tears, "She's perfect." Kissing his wife on the lips, he continued, "You did it, babe. You were so strong. I'm so very proud of you."
