In other news, my years of mental illne--I mean my dedication to my childhood favorite has paid off and I won a DCG Tamer Battle with Purple Hybrid / Koichi 😌 It's just a small regular card game event, but getting Top 16 in GAO with Megidra before that plus the fact that I just started playing in like May with no TCG experience past Slay the Spire and Inscryption is inflating my ego a bit LMAO

(We usually get the participation and winner packs late in my country so they just give you random old event cards while waiting for the new ones to come in)

Anyway I just mentioned it because after that I thought I need to actually finish this animatic, it's the least I could do for my boy to commemorate 🎉 Pretty much just missing the effects and some tweaks at this point!

Embermon

A strangely developed in training digimon supposedly born from data from the 'AncientGreymon' line. Whether it's claim is true or not is difficult to say, given it's nervous nature, but it shows a determination to help others that is rare in such young digimon. It uses its underdeveloped wings to throw its feathers as embers at enemies, with its special attack 'Feather Flare'. When cornered, it will use it's 'Smokey Shout' attack to cough up a smoke screen and turn tail while the opponent is distracted.

hi this is Faulnismon, my child form design for Loweemon!

Faulnismon is the rookie level for the Warrior of Darkness (both Duskmon's line and Lowemon's line)

This guy was born (hatched..?) many years ago, alongside Strabimon. They would both grow up to be part of the Ten Legendary Warriors that eventually fought and sealed away Lucemon.

Faulnismon's teeth and claws are underdeveloped, so he isn't as strong as Strabimon is naturally. As a scavenger, he has the ability to eat corrupted/rotten data that is left over from fights or dead digimon without getting sick. Since he's full of corrupted data that would be harmful to other digimon, he can use this to his advantage when fighting. He has carved the end of his tail into a scythe-like shape, and has covered it in his own saliva to create a dangerously venomous weapon. ...So long as he can slice his opponent enough times.

As someone who has had to rely on his wits and hard work to survive, Faulnismon is a very stern and serious kid. He will never show weakness if he can help it, and he especially will never let Strabimon see how much he struggles to keep up with him and fight by his side.

fairymon can skate on anything with her "wing blades", which create a small, thin barrier of wind between any surface she's standing on. she likes to skate REALLY fast!

she's a moth bird thing and shes sensitive to light

she can't fly but she can glide SUPER good and she can spit highly pressured gusts of wind that you shouldn't get hit by.

and she's got eyespots underneath her moth wing head things to scare off enemies

not associated with Izumi from frontier but she's got Izumi vibes :D

Koichi…🥺

There are a lot of things in Digimon Frontier that I feel had lots of potential but weren't explored nearly enough, one of which was Koichi's sense of isolation from the rest of the team. It's not surprising he'd feel like an outsider, and it feels weird that it was resolved so quickly and easily. Heck, he already had a sense of being an outsider before getting isekai'd into the Digiworld.

There's an episode near the end where the other kids are talking about how they consider themselves Digimon as well as people and that the Digiworld is also their homeworld that they choose to protect, which felt like an insane thing to say in front of Koichi who was essentially turned into a Digimon against his will and puppeted by Digimon for evil ends 😭 Or I am biased as a Koichi enjoyer since childhood and want his character to be explored more 😌

High above the clouds, where mortals dare not tread, two figures unleash their full power in a conflict the magnitude of which resembles a clash between the forces of nature at their most savage. (It's part of a remake project for Digimon Frontier, Zoe gets her Digispirit Beast but she's not able to control it and Takuya must help her calm down. This leads them to have a battle in the sky.)
