valentine’s day at hogwarts (in my uni dr) જ⁀➴ ♡

♡ lots of warnings from professor snape that he doesn’t want to see so much as two ingredients for amortentia next to each other, let alone find out someone has brewed it.

♡ professor trelawney gives each of her students rose quartz and develops her lessons around the holiday, whether it be tarot card reading, astrology, or palm reading. she’s practically a matchmaker this time of year, and she gets things right every once in a blue moon.

♡ the owls work overtime around valentine’s day. there are valentines constantly plummeting from the sky in the great hall, and of course they’re grander than anything. students spend the entire week leading up to valentine’s day perfecting their cards with spells and enchantments, so you’d best hope none of them go up in flames literally !

♡ dates to the three broomsticks are almost a guarantee on valentine’s day, and while they’re lovely, tables go quickly. any way you turn, there’s lovers sipping their butterbeer, or an awkward pair ready to leave. every so often there’s a creative bunch that’ll go above and beyond for their date. you may find them having a picnic by the black lake, or even daring to enter the forbidden forest (if you’re into that sort of thing).

♡ professor sprout watches her plants closely, because she knows all too well that some sneaky students will try and nab a flower or two.
