imagine being madi in xxxviii though. your war is over before it started you're certain your friend is dead & you confront your lover about it and he's like "well yes i am lying to everyone about what happened to him but i won't lie to YOU." and then tells you something that sounds barely believable. and now you're forced to consider one of two possibilities: 1) this man who has just admitted he's a liar is still lying to your face and your friend is dead, or 2) (maybe worse) he's not lying, and the man you love did in fact sell his closest friend into slavery so that you would stay with him forever. what are you supposed to do with that

black sails being described as a historical fiction action series is so funny considering arguably the only characters experiencing that are julius & the maroons. silverflintmadi are in a greek mythological tragedy, miranda is in a haunted house film, vane is in an action blockbuster, eleanor is in a girlfail coming of age story, jackanne are in a workplace dark comedy, max is floating between several genres at once, and billy doesn't know where the fuck he is

currently fucked up about how flint shot dooley in a panic, no hesitation, as soon as he spotted him about to kill silver and how they both just stare at each other afterwards like he's revealed some damning secret (because he has)

imagine starting a relationship with a woman who you've deemed to be a somewhat safe romantic/sexual partner because you've recently become allies in a war. and then months later you discover that actually you have opposing views on how the war is playing out and that her views are closely aligned with the other person you're in love with, a man that you are subconsciously repressing that love for due to the Curse that makes it apparent that the closeness between the two of you will doom one or both of you. and then you realize that the two people you love are so similar that you've basically fallen in love with the same person twice. in one year. and your differences cause you to lose them both irrevocably and forever. this happened to my friend john silver
