We believe that in such a dramatic moment, such as the one the Palestinian people are experiencing before the eyes of the entire world, we cannot remain indifferent. This is an image coming from the Second Intifada, and its a famous image of child fares odeh throwing a rock at an israeli tank. The way israelis redefine the intifada is how they reframe this image. They treat the tank like a backdrop that its something normal in the landscape and the child is the one "breaking the peace." Israeli violence becomes a backdrop. The tank in the village is an act of domination and intimidation towards the unarmed palestinians around it. This show of strength enforces israeli occupation and reminds palestinians that they do not have a right to the land, but to israelis, palestinians must be subjected to this type of violence. Fares odeh was killed in 2000 at only 14 years old for stone throwing
