dana could sense the urgency in their words alone. perhaps in her thousand years of life she's had the wrong purpose for it. sure becoming a vampire had been the greatest gift for her back in burgundy. but now life had somewhat settled beyond just finding her sire and reconnecting with her. this felt like it could be the next best thing, especially knowing she'd been on her own at the beginning for so long. "hierarchy is such a fickle little thing," she sighed, having overheard some conversations. she believed them. "i understand. though i myself have never truly been a teacher, i know how it feels to not have anyone. to not have the proper instruction," dana paused. "i can be convinced though."

maya nodded, already having the freedom to travel around without too many consequences. however, things had changed while she’d been away. she’d discovered things about herself that isn’t sure ethan knows about. maya needed to tell him everything, in person. “he’s fine. i just had some important news to tell him and it wasn’t something i wanted to tell him over the phone.”
