Our neighbor has an outdoor cat and Goldfish (my pet chicken) does not approve.

Goldfish is the primary alarm bird. She is normally the first one to call out dangerous things. When it's a hawk she knows to run for cover, but when it is a ground threat such as a cat or a snake, she will stand in one place cussing up a storm, waiting for me to come deal with it.

Also context, Dragon is the name of my flock's boss hen. Dragon owns everything, I just take care of it.

Keep your cats indoors.

Varnishing a table I thrifted, my girls are keeping me company. It's also really windy, I've got thd doors open, so the kitchen is the most sheltered place.

My son had a real bad patch mental health wise, and physically too, in 2021, which is when we first got hens. The difference they made was subtle, but noticeable; he was interested in them, they gave him confidence to go in the garden, they gave him a safe companion whilst he was off school (I was off work a lot,but still had to run our lives, so sitting all day wasn't an option). Pip and Chicka were the BEST therapy hens; we lost Chicka a while back, but still have Pip. I'll always keep hens now, I can't imagine life without their beautiful souls.
