Remaining 4 B.A.P Members Part Ways With TS Entertainment After Deciding To Not Renew Contracts

The four remaining member of B.A.P have all elected to not renew their contracts with agency TS Entertainment.

On February 18, the agency shared the news on B.A.P’s official fan cafe with a post titled, “Official statement regarding the future activities of B.A.P.” Their statement reads as follows:

Hello. This is TS Entertainment.

We would like to notify you that TS Entertainment’s exclusive contracts with B.A.P members Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, and Jongup have ended.

With the exclusive contracts that B.A.P members Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, and Jongup had with TS Entertainment ending, we have come to the agreement that they will not renew their contracts and will instead find their own paths.

We wish to sincerely thank all of the Korean and international fans who have sent their love to B.A.P members Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, and Jongup, and we hope you will continue to support them in the future.

Thank you.

With this announcement, all six members of B.A.P have now parted ways with TS Entertainment after deciding to not renew their contracts. The members had contracts that ended on different dates, leading to a staggered departure from the agency. First, it was announced in August 2018 that Bang Yong Guk would be leaving the agency, with Zelo following suit in December 2018.

We wish the members of B.A.P all the best in their future endeavors!

Bang Yong Guk is excelling as he ventures into solo work!

He released his new single “Hikikomori” on January 20 and the song was met with a positive response from fans all over the world. He’s enjoying a successful start as a solo artist as “Hikikomori” topped the iTunes K-pop charts in 14 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Spain, Denmark, Italy, Taiwan, and Thailand.

“Hikikomori” is a term that means “Person who lives in seclusion” and is used to described people who stay in their rooms and focus on their hobbies, or those who avoid personal relations. Bang Yong Guk used the term for his song to describe looking inside himself during his battle with depression, as well as to describe people who are lost in anguish as they spend time by themselves. The single was especially meaningful as it was Bang Yong Guk’s first since departing from TS Entertainment.

Bang Yong Guk said, “I believe there are many people out in the world who have that ‘Hikikomori’ side to them. This song is about me, but it’s a song that most people can relate to through similar experiences. I made this song hoping that each person who listens to it has their own interpretation of it. I want to tell the fans who waited for me that I respect them, and I hope to keep making music that not only reflects my own story, but the stories of others as well.”

TS Entertainment has announced that Zelo will be leaving B.A.P.

On December 24, the agency released an official statement confirming Zelo’s departure from the group:

Hello. This is TS Entertainment.

We are informing you that B.A.P’s Zelo’s exclusive contract with TS Entertainment has expired.

After holding numerous discussions as we approached the end date of our contract with Zelo, who has been with us since December 2, 2011, we have mutually decided that Zelo’s exclusive contract will end on December 2, 2018 and that he will leave B.A.P.

We express our gratitude to Zelo, who did his utmost up until the very end, and we promise to send Zelo our warm support in the future as he makes a fresh start and goes on to show great things.

Once again, we would like to thank both Zelo and all the people who have given B.A.P so much love.

Although Zelo’s contract with TS Entertainment expired on December 2, the idol chose to remain with B.A.P past that date in order to complete the group’s “Forever with BABYz” tour of Europe earlier this month.

Okay. Stay with me here. The reason why I don't get the logic of T$ framing Himchan like this is because they obviously have nothing good to gain from it and the risk of it boomeranging back to them is too great. What do people mean by "it's because the boys' contracts are expiring"? T$ never gave a shit about B.A.P when they signed so why would they care now that they're leaving??? AND if it's really true that a huge percentage of the money B.A.P gets goes straight into the company's wallet, why would they deliberately put their breadwinners in danger for the time they have left to squeeze them dry? If they cared so much about their contracts then this is exactly what they shouldn't do because the boys aren't afraid of bailing and taking them to court - they've proven that back in 2014 and heck, Yongguk has bailed TWICE. After all this shit that they've gone through together, you better believe that these boys have titanium steel for backbones. There's nothing that's gonna change the fact that T$ can't manage talent for shit but, don't give T$ too much credit esp since nothing's official yet.
