Jeremy Scott makes a statement with a psychedelic spin in NYFW
It's no secret Jeremy Scott always pushes the limit when it comes to fashion and last week Jeremy Scott gave us something to remember with his Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear collection.
He brought us back to the psychedelic days with the animal print and bold colors. His eccentric 70's theme was also partnered with a statement of how he feels about the topics in the world. He used religious graphics & symbols, as well as, historic references, such as Cleopatra wigs to show his stance on how diversity in culture and religion are what makes the world great. He also had graphic shirts with sayings like "sex is cute"  and pigs with sayings like "Jesus saves."
We love Jeremy Scott's creativity with his bold statements and use of politics with fashion. He for sure let us know that simple is not the way to go this Winter!  Get a closer look at his looks below:

History of the Cat Eye
Cat eye makeup featuring eyes lined with dark black eyeliner, was first worn in ancient Egypt.  These centuries old heavily lined eyes have been famously depicted in ancient Egyptian art, and on statues and monuments.
Egyptian eye makeup was used to mimic the black lined eyes of cats (particularly lions and cheetahs).  Cats represented a number of things; beauty, grace, fertility, and protection.
Who knew centuries later it would come to be worn everyday by women across the world.
Check out this tutorial from  blogger ItsMyRayeRaye, on three different versions of the cat eye.

Why You Should Create Your Own Trends
1. Celebrities Do It
Everyone is dying to jump on the latest Yeezy season and Rhianna’s latest obsession. Truth of the matter is most celebrities act on their creative impulses while some of us take the less courageous route. Rhianna told Vouge magazine about her inspiration for her latest Fenty x Puma release that had the whole world buzzing. “But I didn’t want it to be super-bubbly, so I kept it a bit street—everything was super-sporty and definitely highly influenced by 18th-century French culture, and the style of that time, mainly Marie Antoinette, and the Palace of Versailles. She just had this regal way about her, and everything she did was big. I wanted to mix that in with sport. I thought it would be a challenge, and it was!” With Rhianna’s courage to share her vision with the world, Spring 2017 fashion will be heavily influenced.
2. Everyone Has That One Outfit
Every person has that one outfit that they love, but never wear it. Every time they think they have enough courage to wear it or the perfect event has finally presented itself, they chicken out. Majority of the reason why people chicken out is simply because they fear what other people will say or the looks they will receive. Another reason people never let the outfit see the light of day is because they are too afraid to flourish. Though some may not think they identify with reason number two, the next time you put together a self expressive masterpiece, pay close attention to the little voice in your head and you may be surprised. Either way, the key words here are “self expression”, its free and it’s your natural born right, so let your light shine.
3. D.I.Y opportunities
If looking like you walked out of the hottest boutique is an issue for you, D.I.Y statement pieces are a great solution. Do it yourself projects give you the opportunity to be more cost effective and allow your favorite trends be a reflection of your creative style. A popular D.I.Y right now is the D.I.Y. Yeezy Heels and D.I.Y. Denim Boots. Shay Cherise also known as "Thenuvouge" on instagram has been influencing many women around the world as her D.I.Y. Yeezy heels went viral. This do it yourself project gives women a chance to rock the style with their own twist and not break their pockets. Making your own boots is only one way to exhibit your skills, do it yourself is a wide open field to completely create your own fashion trends.
4. You Never Know Who Is Watching
In the time of social media, narcissist, copy cats, and free thinkers people are receiving inspiration from everyone and everything. At any moment you can post a picture on your favorite social media platform wearing your own fashion statement and go viral. Viral may be a long stretch, but you never know who is watching. With that being said, don’t let your fashion fears be the barrier between you and your next Forever 21 campaign or simply an inspiration to someone who is experiencing the same issues.
5. Bring Back Your Favorite Style
Trends are changing faster than one can get presentable for an impromptu factime call. So if there is a trend that has come and gone or even one you admire from the 20’s, feel free to bring it back with your own twist. Who would have thought regular people would be wearing full colored wigs like Lil Kim did back in the day? Fashion influencer Darrin Wallace also known as “Dvrrrin” on Instagram makes any trend look great. Many would agree that Fubu Jerseys and Adidas Soccer Pants have taken the back seat. However, Darrin slit the knees of his soccer pants spicing up the outfit a bit, and wore the jersey with confidence and it became a Instagram hit.
Honestly, there is no such thing as “out of style” when you put your own creative spin on a piece because now it has become your style and unique is always in.
Creating your own fashion trends is a lot easier than you think. The first step to creating your own fashion trends is removing the ceiling off your own mind. If you aren’t looking to be a fashion pioneer, but are too afraid to show the world your twist on trends adapt an “ I like it, I’m wearing it attitude”. This new found level of confidence will change the way to think of yourself and the way others perceive you. Having the courage to wear your own trends or something that genuinely resonates with you is really you being more like yourself.

12 Must-Have Vacation Essentials
You've requested your days off, booked the airfare, reserved the hotel, and arranged your excursions. There’s nothing standing between you and that sweet, non-cubical air. Oh, right, except for one thing: packing. This activity may be the most only stressful aspect of any trip, and it requires the same strategy and precision you used to plan the fun stuff. To simplify the process, we narrowed down the top 12 must-have vacation essentials. See below for the plane necessities, pool musts, and other packing requisites that'll streamline your vacay. Bon voyage!
1. The Throw-On Dress One of the most versatile pieces you can toss in your bag, the throw-on dress can be worn a multitude of ways. Try it by itself with sandals for a day of sightseeing, over your swimsuit for an impromptu dinner, or even layered atop trousers for an unexpected night-out look.
2. The Reflective Sunglasses Retro and current at the same time, these mirrored lenses give a modern twist to a range of classic frames, so you can get your natural #filter on in the most stylish way possible.
3. The Roomy Dopp Kit There’s no reason to stuff your daily essentials into that old pouch you’ve had since your first flight experience. That’s especially true with these super cute makeup bag that are as functional as they are cool. Grab one in a quirky pattern that could double as an impromptu clutch — just remember to ditch the toothpaste first.
4. The Instant Camera You’re at the beach — get off your phone. Save some space for an actual camera to replace your mobile's shooter. You’ll create memories without being tempted to check your email every 30 seconds.
5. The Plane-To-Pool Slides Love 'em or loathe them, shower shoes are going nowhere this summer. If you've been considering hopping aboard this trend, now's the time to do it. Spanning a range of cool colors, textures, and embellishments, this season’s iterations certainly have a life beyond the freshman dorm. They make for a solid footwear choice that's comfy while you're flying and convenient while you're floating.
6. The Wear-All-Week Studs Your jewelry routine should be simple when you're on vacation. There’s no reason to schlep your entire box with you when fuss-free, eye-catching studs with quirky shapes and classic finishings will go with everything for any occasion.
7. The Slip-On Sneaker The sneakerhead is ruling the world right now, and slip-ons are leading the pack. Spanning a massive range of fun prints, like colorful leopard, textures and embellishments, these kicks make airport security a breeze and look cool paired with cuffed jeans or even a more-formal dress.
8. The Carry-On Bag A no-nonsense shape in a graphic print or saturated hue is practical for toting around your iPad, dopp kit, and magazines. It adds spice to your travel ensemble, too.
9. The External Charger You won’t want to be glued to your phone while relaxing, but there’s nothing worse than seeing that flashing red battery — just in caseyou really need to use it. A portable external charger is small, lightweight, and won’t leave you stranded on the island.
10. The Don't-Forget-It Jacket Hopefully you won’t need one, but with the airplane’s AC and the sometimes-cool beach nights, it’s smart to have a lightweight jacket on hand. A bomber style is sporty-cool but feels feminine and modern with splashes of microfloral.
11. The Textured Clutch A textured clutch in summery-feeling raffia gives your going-out look extra depth. A 3D-embellished version with protruding, black and white goes with everything, and a multi-colored option with textured stripes instantly dresses up any look.
12. The Headphones The No. 1 traveling rule? Don’t forget your headphones. There’s nothing worse than sitting on a 10-hour flight with a screaming baby and no "Yonce" to calm you down. Try a standout print or a sleek, white option to update your tired earbuds. Just make sure they’re noise-canceling.

BET EXPERIENCE 2016 RECAP
In the past, the BET Awards were simply a highly anticipated award show. Today it is four days of fun in Los Angeles, with the city filled with the hottest celebrities. The festivities started Thursday, June 23rd with 106 & Park at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles. Through the weekend there were concerts, talks with the faces of the industry, fashion shows, a celebrity basketball game, and of course the annual BET Awards.
This weekend was most definitely a concert over load. If you missed your favorite concerts throughout the year, the BET Experience was a great place to play catch-up. R&B favorites Usher and Bryson Tiller shut L.A. Live down, followed by Metro Boomin at The Novo. Later, Rap Geniuses 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne hit the stage, giving an amazing performance. Throughout the B.E.T. Experience there were Free…Yes Free Concerts held on the BETX Stage. Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Desiigner, OT Genisis, and Ro James graced the stage just to name a few.
The highly anticipated celebrity basketball game got a little steamy this year. A-List celebs such as Chris Brown, Floyd Mayweather Nick Cannon, The Game, Meek Mill, and Tank made appearances on the the court. Following the Celebrity Basketball game was a BETX Slam Dunk Contest judged by Deon Cole, Jemele  Hill, and Micheal Smith. Hill, and Micheal Smith.
BET Experience took the initiative to host a informative “Genius Talks”. DJ Khaled made an appearance, giving the audience the major keys to success. Music Moguls Damon Dash, Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dog, and Birdman talked about their new premiere television show “Music Moguls”, airing this week. Gabrielle Union gave the inside scoop on being a black woman in Hollywood.
With all the anticipation building up over the past 3 days, the BET Awards was nothing short of breath taking. With an empowering opening performance by Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar. Prince was the spotlight of the show, with 4 performances dedicated to him throughout the BET Awards. Jesse Williams accepted the Humanitarian Award, while also delivering a powerful speech about the society we live in today. Samuel L. Jackson received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the entertainment industry.

The Best Nail Colors for Summer
In the grand scheme of new beauty-product releases, nail polish is, undoubtedly, the most overwhelming. The top brands flood the market with several launches every season. This constant flood of colors, brands and techniques makes it hard to keep track of all the newbies.  So what's the latest in color trends?  Ahead, we have listed the 5 biggest nail-color trends to rock right now.
Petal Pink Soft, neutral nail shades are some of the most popular of the moment (which is perfect if you're hesitant about full-on brights). And pale pink is the “new neutral.”
Nailing Hollywood Nail Polish in Cork, $9.99, available at Beauty.com.
Beautiful Blue From bright sapphire hues to shimmering royal shades, designers have been embracing the blues. Our top pick? This vibrant shade of blue with a touch of metallic that reminds us of the Caribbean. Wear it on shorter nails or as an eye-popping pedi choice.
Whim Nail Lacquer in Indigo Waters, $10, available at Ulta Beauty.
Seafoam Green We adore this color for summer. The hue is soft and subtle like this clean, pale pastel from NARS.
NARS Nail Polish in Thasos, $20, available atNARS.
Rouge Red Deep, vampy reds and love affairs with orange-red are over. Let’s be honest, a classic, true red never goes out of style — particularly in the warmer months.
Burberry Nail Polish in Military Red No. 300, $22, available at Sephora.
Metal Mani We typically reserve metallic makeup for nights out. But as Marc Jacobs, Reem Acra, and Naeem Khan proved, metallic nails are for any time, all the time. Plus, metallic polishes tend to possess more staying power, so if you’re heading on vacay, a shimmery shade like this silvery shade is a solid pick.
Essie Nail Polish in Cashmere Bathrobe, $8.50, available at Essie.
