How could she thank her though for letting her come aboard? They were doing their best to communicate, but they really could only go so far, huh?

Not knowing what else to do, she just started gently patting the floor, a little smile on her face. Boat Mom was so nice....

🌺} - Hey, isn't that Boat Mom? She met her once before, right?

Yes, it is indeed Boat Mom! And they had met, though it was quite a while ago, wasn’t it? Still, Lor doesn’t forget things easily, especially the face of such a cute kid. Well, at least what she could make out of it, given her poor vision.

“>Hello!” The ship says, giving a friendly wave with one of her oars. Petal might not be able to reply back, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t give a greeting anyways.

She's only more excited by their confirmation, it takes her a moment to realize they asked her a question back. Her twirling around them came to a stop, the child face-to-face with them and giving them a curious look.

To answer, she fluttered back behind them and gently held the tip of one of their wings in her nubs.

{🌺} - I mean, we're both butterflies! Right? Isn't that how it works?

Letting go, she went back to facing them again, giving a friendly smile.

{🌺} - Besides, I can't talk! My sister says I'm mute! So this is better than nothing, right? It's nice to meet you, by the way!

Maybe their tone was rather, well, cold and distant, but to the girl, she seemed too lost in her own excitement to fully register it’s subtext.

In fact, she didn’t seem to bare any fear of them at all. Only curiousity and excitement, shown clearly in the excited flutter of her wings and the twinkle in her eyes. Thats just how kids are sometimes.

{🌺} - Butter butter butter BUTTER!!!

The girl suddenly flew up into the air and descended back downward quickly, spinning around the warrior once she reached them again.

{🌺} - This is amazing! Can you hear me? My name is Petal!! Your wings are super cool!!

What in the voiddamn?

Unceremoniously slapped in the brain with the youthful voice of a girl enthusiastically shouting “butter” repeatedly, the revelation that Petal could send psychic messages to others was so unforeseen that Morpho’s composure dived into a lake of dishevelment.

As such, all they did was stare blankly off into the distance as Petal flew around them. Their thoughts were so concerned over why Petal had telepathy—an ability that even they didn’t have—that they were barely able to register what she said afterwards.

“…Hm? Oh, right. I can hear you, indeed. And my thanks for your compliment, I suppose. Though, I must inquire, why do you have telepathic communication?”

But... wasn’t she a home? Now she looked even more confused...

She couldn’t ask though, so maybe she should just let it go for now. Instead, she curiously fluttered over to the taped-down mat, looking down at it curiously. She pointed down to it. Could she sit on it? Was she allowed to?

The puffling gave a curious flutter of her wings, head tilting at the strange blue mat. She looked ready to fly over and check it out, but stopped herself. She's gotta mind her manners after all!

She turned back, meaning to look at the other and point towards the mat, but she realized she didn't exactly know *where* to look. Her head tilting again, kinda looking around and pointing to the mat at times. Just a curious and confused little girl.

Dawww, the compliment on how she had been growing made her look a little bashful! Indeed, she had a small pair of horns growing in now, and her wings were a bit bigger than before.

At Lor's suggustion, she fluttered up quickly, a big, bright smile spreading across hee face once she landed onto the deck. Her wings gave a flutter of excitement!
