Forgive me, but this is NOT ugly. Not by a long shot. This is perfection! This gaze can make you both petrified and smitten at the same time. You look into the void and the void gazes back with a dreadful stare, piercing through all your defenses. It sees your thoughts. It sees all your secrets... ... And just beyond that, it hides broken cathedrals and withered gardens, sorrow and pain. The last petal of the last rose of kindness and humanity in the midst of those silent ash lands that you'd embrace... But... you cannot reach it through the glass. And his younger self in Dark Ages is just that - his younger self, and though beautiful in his own right, I'd take the old guy any time. I'll take that dreadful stare over the puppy eyes. The cold and sure exterior over the confusion and wonder. And all the imperfections - the crooked nose, uneven brows, wrestler's ears... and those imperfect teeth that form crooked grin. It's unique. It's beautiful! And I am sorry to say this, but all you sweet fangirls that are new to DOOM and think THIS is ugly... you don't know shit, lil' darlings. He was gorgeous in the 90s Classics. He was handsome in Quake3 and Quake Champions. He is beautiful in TDA, yes, but... he is perfect in Eternal.

Because I've been #noticing it in the fandom lately:

He's not ugly in Eternal, you're just mean. And you know how fucking tired he is by Eternal? Give the guy a fucking break he doesn't meet your beauty "standards" or whatever. I mean he's still old in the Dark Ages since like he was fighting in Hell for like thousands of years beforehand but in Eternal he's even older than that. He's old. God forbid he looks old when he's old (and still he doesn't even look that old but still, older)

Meanwhile I'm a Doom Guy true kisser no matter what. He's still pretty I'm sorry some you guys can't see that 🫶
