YUL.
yul understood the need for extra practice. even though he prided himself on being able to pick up choreograph quickly, he didn’t allow any room for slacking when it came to dancing and was often putting in extra hours in the practice rooms before comebacks to make sure his movements would look as good as possible on stage. of course, this was even more true now that he was preparing for champion’s debut, spending an extra hour or two at the building before going home to relax and cuddle with the new puppy he had adopted once he had moved out of the unity dorm. he was always happy to keep other people company during their practice hours, however.
letting out a laugh at her reaction, he remained oblivious to whatever inner turmoil she was going through as he placed his cup down by his things. “please, as if i’m going to go leaking it on anyone,” yul replied, light sarcasm dripping into his tone, “but if a random fan account spreads anything then it obviously wasn’t me.” it was a joke, of course, but he’d already heard enough of the song from outside the practice room anyway. “who said i wouldn’t like rock? i can appreciate it as an art form. like yes, headbang your teenage angst away and all that shit.” growing up, he had been more used to dancing to ballet music but after becoming a member of unity it had been a must to learn how to adapt and dance to whatever sound their company was using them to experiment with next. “excellent, that sounds a great idea! i just need to stretch first, give me a moment.” before he did so though, he paused to take a look at her, his head tilting in curiosity slightly. “your cheeks are kinda red though, are you warm? should we turn the air con on?”
the rhythm of her heart was still quite fast, and that only informed her that she was still feeling flustered—the beads of sweat that gathered upon her brow still present even after she stopped her motions for awhile. taking in a deep breath, she raised her palms upwards so she could fan her face delicately; the cooling motions sending the scent of her shampoo spiraling throughout the dance space. “i know you wouldn’t leak it, dummy!” she teased, painting on a smile to hide behind as she worked on calming herself down. it was becoming obnoxious that this influx of hormones and emotions was still lingering upon her soul, so she was working on fighting back harder than before. “we’re using these really pretty sashes for a good part of the choreo, but i’m still being a klutz with mine. i’m supposed to be the elegant one, but i can’t help but feel kind of like an asshole when i’m throwing this thing around.” reaching backwards, she pulled out the onyx-hued, silken cloth that was meant to be used as a prop from her back pocket; waving it around playfully. “maybe you’ll be a natural with it and can teach me a thing or two? i’d love you eternally if so!” for the first time since he arrived, haseo locked eyes with yul and offered a smile—quickly reverting her focus elsewhere as to not become too distracted with his appearance.
“i never said you wouldn’t like rock, but like, compared to our earlier releases with this sound, this one just isn’t my favorite, i guess? like, i’m not exactly proud to be showing this off to you, or anyone else, you know?” it was true that she was underwhelmed, but when she spoke it out loud, it sounded much harsher than intended. shaking her head, she backtracked slightly to better clarify her point. “i don’t hate it or anything... i’m just not exactly excited about it either.” with that, a soft sigh fell from between her lips; her body temperate slowly, but surely, beginning to cool down. just before her blush is unnoticeable though, her dance partner points out the fact that she’s tinted crimson, and that in and of itself was enough to deepen the hue of her cheeks once more. “really? huh... maybe i’m just a little overheated. go ahead and start stretching, i’ll get the air conditioner for us!” she gestured with her hands for him to get to the barre, and she pivoted around to cause a more chilling atmosphere. during this aside, she takes yet another heavy breath in, then out; doing her best to center herself. this was just like any other time they danced together in the past—that’s all she kept telling herself over, and over, again.
after a few moments, she ambled back over to yul and placed her hands on her hips; her hair thrown over her shoulders in a wavy, perfectly messy fashion. “you warm yet? do you need help with any of your stretches?”

COREY.
he almost knows why he’s here. it’s an easy, slow dive, like snowfall that blankets his senses. it’s a rapid descent, like the blink of a falling star, easy to miss from so far away but if you’re suspended in that space, it’s burning. corey thinks everything feels a bit like that these days. it’s why he’s exhausted with hunched shoulders and trembling hands making dinner in the kitchenette all alone tonight. why he could invite his members from the girls conjoining dorm to be with him but he won’t. it’s why there’s a laptop dusting his otherwise dark living room in dull neon light where he had been writing lyrics, taunting him from across the room. the water not yet simmering on the stove reflects his blank stare as he thinks. it’s unfortunate that there’s a certain melancholy that chases him these days. that there’s a woman who chases him, other’s who leave him. that there’s a perfect evolution of music that avoids him. that his best friends float away from him like a downward current. corey jung can’t quite pin anything down, not even himself. it’s all just, wrong.
she had been an extension of that too at some point; haseo had been a crash course in just how quickly he could derail himself. so easy, too easy at first, and then it became too much. it wasn’t that she was a bad girl, someone he thought he couldn’t tolerate, even someone who hurt him. he had never given her that much power. but she was someone he had taken one good look at in the long, dark light, and he had wished her away like she was a star. because he knew, he thinks she knows too, that they’re not meant for much. but sometimes, beggars can’t be choosers, and he needs someone right now. someone easier than himself to tolerate, just someone.
the bell startles him to near death out of his stupor. no one had rang the bell in ages, most who frequent having codes and then he’s reminded that he doesn’t know her so well. not anymore especially. he navigates to the door, peels the door back without any hesitation. he can’t say he expected her to look quite so made up, but it had been so long since they’d met. he felt under dressed in his cotton button-up with the sleeves rolls and that’s about it. she’s stunning, despite the pressure he feels at her appearance, that this would become something again. they’re always off and on like this, and despite reaching out to contact her first, he hadn’t entirely planned for this to spark another on. he offers her the caress of a soft smile, a brush across his lips that doesn’t quite light him up the way it should as he reaches his hand out to grab her palms and escort her in without pause. “you look nice.” it’s an understatement and he doesn’t that kind of thing to taper expectations, squeezes her hand gently in a reassuring nature. he pulls her close into his chest without touch, peers down at her while he reaches behind with free hand to shut the door. “it’s been…” he pauses, considers his words, “too long.” he says. he doesn’t vacate standing far too close to her. her eyes are still as bright and pretty as he remembers, he avoids the fact that they haven’t spoken, touched in so long, breaks the precedent in order to brush her hair behind her ear in a familiar way.
corey jung sure does love girls who are pretty like flowers, sweet like honey. his mind twists away like an insect from supplying the list, the girl he thinks of most of all. “i’m glad you answered me.” god, does he mean that right now.
there’s a repeating series of thoughts that are zooming through her mind as she stands at corey’s doorstep—all ranging from how she looked, to what she was going to say, to how he was going to react to her—and although she’s familiar with this pattern of thinking, it somehow feels foreign; the weight each reverie once held lessening the further apart the two of them were. truthfully, if it were up to her, they’d have continued on the flowered path they were walking upon—feet moving in the same rhythm as her arm was laced into his own; the contact more than enough to satisfy them if they were hungry for more sensuality. however, that ideal image didn’t come to life, even if she wished it did, and it only reminds her that her daydreams are not reality, but a figment of her imagination; a figment painted in wild rose and lush lavender, and drenched in aurulent spoonfuls of delectable honey to make things between them appear sweeter. sure, it’s not the truth—not even fact—but that’s how she chooses to recall their time together; that’s what makes it so easy to run back into his arms over and over again. were they doomed forever? of course, but she didn’t care—she’d go through the same process, and the same idle thoughts, ten times over in order to get close to him again, as if she’s the pitiful moth fluttering towards his open flame. truth is, she would risk the danger of being torched just to pretend to be his girlfriend again, and that’s what’s the saddest thing of all. haseo doesn’t know what their future holds, but at this point, she’s not sure if she cares. aiming for the bigger picture works for some people, but it doesn’t go too well when either of them are involved, and she’s at peace with that.
however, every shred of peace leaves once he answers the door, and there she is again: waiting to be his barbie doll, and his admirer.
a delicate smile pulls at the corners of her mouth, and she instinctively gives him a once-over—taking in the very sight and essence of him again, even if it felt like it was the first time she’d ever set her sights upon him. maybe that’s what made this moment more special. when he speaks, she hangs on every word he says, and lets him finish before giving any responses; never wanting to interrupt him. though, what speaks even louder volumes to her is when he cradles her hands in his, and later, guides her in for an embrace; one that she’s missed ever-so much. “thank you, oppa.” she coos, hoping the use of an honorific wouldn’t take him by surprise. “mm, i’ve missed you.” she adds, her lithe arms still present around his physique as she squeezes a little tighter. each movement feels so new, but the touch of his hands still dons familiarity, which she’s more than thankful for. turns out she didn’t forget him as much as she thought she did.
“i’m glad that i did, too. i was a little nervous, to be honest, but i’m glad you reached out...” she breathed, creating a small distance between them so she could gleam up towards his visage—all of his features so chiseled, and masculine, and stunning. “your text made me smile, and i’m honestly not sure when the last time i genuinely smiled was. promotions have been eating up my whole life like a glutton.” shaking her head back and forth, she reminded herself that it this union wasn’t about work, but instead, it was about reconnecting; reuniting; making up for lost time. that’s what was most important right now.
“something smells delicious in here, by-the-way—are you cooking dinner?”

SOOAH.
Over the last couple of years, Sooah had come up with the idea that maybe, just maybe, she should organize her life in a better way in order to live better and with no complications. Of course, she always knew that was a naïve thought, since problems would always make their way back to ones lives but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t work her way into solving past impasses. She was a better dancer now if compared to her past self after all, she could sing better too, and even rap since Gold Star was pushing her to that area too. She’s not a perfect performer but she’s good at catching others’ eyes and despite not being nothing too special, she wasn’t a bad ordinary anymore, she was improving.
However, there are issues that she still wants to understand and solve in her life. That’s why she messaged Haseo in the first place, and that’s why she’s now at Lucid’s dorm staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out how can she approach the subject she has in mind. She feels embarrassed, she realizes at some point, what if the reaction is not good and Haseo just starts to ignore her after knowing what is it in her mind. But she feels so comfortable with the older female, she just wants to understand what is happening and she truly believes Haseo will manage to help her. “I know, I’m sorry, I think I’m just a bit distracted today,” she starts then, still a little apprehensive, “unnie, I’ve got something to ask you… girl problems, would you help me?” Sooah asks while turning her head towards Haseo. She does trust this woman, that’s the mantra that she starts repeating in her head, ‘you know her for a while, she wouldn’t treat you poorly’, she reasons. Smiling, Sooah reaches for the other’s arm and give it a pat, “you’ll see, even it’s a little chaotic right now, you’ll miss your members when you leave the dorm,” she says offering a assuring nod, “I can’t even imagine sharing an apartment with that many people though, I was the plus one when I came to Fuse’s dorm since I was added later, but we were only five, can you imagine how Wish’s or Charm’s dorms must be? It must be crazy”.
being that she’s of the oldest members in her group, haseo is used to being looked up to by her juniors; both in group, and outside of her group, too. if they needed guidance, she was happy to lend a hand, and if all they wanted to do was vent, then she’d lend an ear—all of this because it is important to her to be the person she wishes she had when she was growing up. if she had a mentor, of sorts, to guide her, maybe she wouldn’t have made so many mistakes? so, if she was able to fill that void within someone else, she’d consider her job well-done, and it seemed to her that sooah asked to hangout for more than just bonding time between friends. when she made her way to the dorm, the older could tell that there was a troubled look on her countenance, but she didn’t feel the need to pry—if her taller cohort wanted to talk, she’d talk, and now that what she assumed was coming true, she nodded her head and squeezed a little tighter. “oh, honey—you know i’ll always help you if and when i can. tell me—what’s on your mind?” she inquired, knowing that none of her members would interrupt them as they were busy with dinner. she wouldn’t want her guest to feel as though she wasn’t in a safe place, after all.
the conversation seemed to flow in a bunch of different directions, though, and when they were talking about dorm dynamics again, she shrugged her shoulders; smiling wide. “i guess you’re right. whenever it is i do move out of here, i’m sure i’ll probably miss all of the company and all of the noise... but, as of right now, it drives me insane. who knew six girls could generate so volume?” a soft laughter fluttered from between her lips, but not to get too distracted, haseo now steered their banter back to her junior; never, ever wanting it to seem as though she’s not interested in what sooah has to confide. “what were you going to tell me though, love? i’m sure it’s not as bad as it seems, and i’ll love you no matter what!” the main vocalist reassured, only wanting to go forward with this discussion if the other was ready for it.

YUL.
for someone who prided himself on flirting skills, yul truly was blissfully unaware sometimes about the advances and desires of other people around him. it was probably because he lived in his own world most of the time, so focused on what he wanted and how he would get it. this was no different. he really had no idea about any changes in the way that haseo viewed him, still didn’t in fact, as he made his way to the dance studio where they had promised to meet. he was late, but he figured that she surely wouldn’t mind too much anyway since she was probably used to it by now.
sipping on the beverage that he had bought himself along the way, yul’s pace picked up as he arrived at the building, hearing the faint booming of the song playing over the speaker. it was when he arrived at the door that he flung it open, not even apologising for his lateness as he sauntered in and threw his stuff on the floor by the mirror. “noona!” yul grinned, taking another sip of his drink as he waited for the song to die down before speaking. “starting without me, i see? what that your new song? can i hear it all? i promise i won’t spoil it for the fans.” it was a lot of questions at once, but yul had always been one to ask and demand until he got what he wanted.
although haseo was quick to call herself a dancer, she definitely lacked in certain areas as far as movement were concerned—her expertise in being graceful, in being disciplined, and harboring proper technique often praised, but her slight stiffness when it comes to most modern girl group dances was often criticized. the choreography for their latest title track required ample amounts of strength, ferocity, and presence in order to be done well, and she struggles a lot with the two former styles a lot. being that her hair is quite long now, she’s luckily able to flip her tresses with no strand being left in her visage—thanks to learning the proper neck placements—but she still isn’t convinced that she can master this choreography with that skill alone, especially when, this time, they’d added sashes to the mix. extra practice had never been so important to her before, so she’s glad that she’s able to get a few moments of that in, but all of that comes to a dramatic halt when her company finally arrives, and instead of quietly approaching and letting her finish in a polite manner, he makes himself known—his voice booming over the music as it continues to play, causing haseo to become distracted enough to nearly topple over.
she doesn’t though, thank heavens.
hurriedly, she grabs the remote that controls the sound system and pauses the track—taking a deep breath. “sheesh! you just about gave me a heart attack!” she exclaimed, a little nervous to face him, so she avoids eye contact with him at all costs. that, and the fact that he very sweetly called her “noona” also made her feel strange, but not in a positive way at all. instead, it made her feel even more peculiar for finding someone years her junior so attractive now. “ah, i don’t know, yul-ah... i’m not supposed to show it to anyone,” she murmured, not realizing that she was playing it loudly through the rehearsal space. “i’m afraid that you won’t really like it, either. we’re back to our first concept, so it’s a ton of rock-influences again.” was she insecure about it? a little bit, but she needed to get over it sooner rather than later. the song was being going to be released quicker than she realized. “here, how about i teach you the choreography? it’ll give me some more time to rehearse, and it’ll also give you the chance to hear a sneak-peek?” she asks, crossing her arms over her chest as she turned to face him for the first time—a roseate blush blossoming on the apples of her cheeks.
“does that sound fair to you?”

JAEIN.
at first, jaein doesn’t think she was always super fond of haseo. perhaps it was the female’s background and the prestigious nature that just flowed out of her; something that couldn’t even be helped. she just seemed like a big contrast to jaein, and she found it difficult to approach her. that was her insecurities speaking up. however, after some time together, she’s realized that she’d been mistaken, and that there wasn’t an individual out there who she could relate to anymore than haseo. there was always something between the two of them that clicked and brought them together. she’s thankful that they got to debut together and now, she couldn’t imagine being in this industry without her. while jaein felt that way about most of her members, it definitely stuck a little stronger with haseo.
she can’t help but let out a little whine when the older female nuzzles against her though grateful that she’s smart to not ruin her makeup or hair. “i have to or else i’m the one that gets killed with nagging by our choreographer.” haseo’s also probably the only member that gets to hear jaein’s whines. she doesn’t open up her emotional baggage onto her, but she does allow herself to at least play the role of the younger member around her. she cringes at the thought of their “viral” stage. it’s possibly the worst thing to go viral for, and she remembers being concerned each time one of her members fell. it was the worst with haseo, and she can still recall the painful thuds that echoed through the stage with each fall. “everything about that memory is painful. both physically and emotionally.” jaein shakes her head, trying to remove the thought completely from her mind. “let’s see if we’ll have enough time for that. i think i’d be lucky if i can drag myself into the shower before going to sleep at what i assume will be around,” she stops to take a look at the time on her phone, “maybe 5am?”
there’s a lot of things that jaein has to stop as the leader. ordering take out is most likely one of them, but she thinks her members, and frankly herself, deserve that after the gruesome hours spent filming this music video. “what should we get this time? chicken? jokbal? maybe even both?” it was going to be hell the next day when they’re in the gym, but she tries to push that thought away for a moment.
despite painting on a killer smile, and laughing sweetly to showcase a light-hearted demeanor, jeon haseo is well-aware that, at times, she can come across as arrogant, prissy, or hell, even intimidating. that’s what a mouth full of silver spoons does to a person, and she hates that that’s the case. it’s still unfair, but even in modern society, she’s found that her occasional ( and often accidental ) resting-bitch-face garnered her ample amounts of hatred, but it was only because of how she was raised. there were countless videos online of people compiling moments of her treating people poorly on variety shows, and almost all of them contain the words “snob” and “spoiled” in them—which rouses a bitter eye-roll every time she reads over them. had she come from more humble beginnings, would people treat her differently? truth is, they probably would, and she was at peace with that, but that didn’t mean it didn’t suck to endure mindless opinions that she never asked for. yes, she can’t change her upbringing, but she strives for nothing more than to do away with the preconceived notions that many hold over her head; hence why she tries extra-hard to be a breath of fresh air in everyone’s lungs—it’s all for a bigger reason; one that she doesn’t even understand most of the time.
but, alas... here she is—simply existing. more like simply miserable and confused.
luckily though, she was able to fill her life with a group of people she held near to her heart, and even if her relationships with them don’t start out pleasant, they almost always metamorphose into something golden; something effortlessly special. so, her friendship with ryu jaein wasn’t an exception, even if the main vocalist wasn’t exactly knowledgable of the prior judgements her leader had made about her. “oh, sweetie—i’m sure they don’t mean to be so stressful. they’re just doing their job.” having spent years upon years dealing with really strict, really intense ballet instructors—especially those who had long careers in france or russia—she’s learned how to have a thick skin to a degree, but only really when it comes to the art of dance. if any of her vocal teachers were to harshly and negatively comment on her voice, she’d probably burst into tears. “that, and i’m confident that we’re feeling so emotional today because of how early we had to wake up. early call times have never, ever been our thing!” the older reassured, offering one of her signature infectious smiles to ease any tension her comrade might’ve been feeling.
“i’m just glad we’re done with those promotions, to be honest. don’t get me wrong—i loved ‘me gustas tu,’ but after that, i like, never wanted to listen to it, or sing that song, ever again...” and unfortunately for her, that was one of lucid’s most cherished title tracks to date. just her luck, right? “you’re probably right about that, though, which is awful to think about. do places even deliver that early in the morning? honestly, i’d be shocked if we find anything to order-in besides coffee and pastries, but at this rate, i’d be fine with that, too... but ONLY if there’s absolutely nowhere that’ll make us bring us some jokbal. if we can find simple, we should definitely have a feast around the table like a proper family! you know, all sentimental and stuff.” she teased, her elbow nudging into jaein’s side.

spoiler alert: i haven’t made up my mind for character #2, and i still need help, so if you’d like to lend me a hand, click the read-more for more information!!  \(●~▽~●)
sOoOoOoOoOo i’m still really indecisive about who i should bring to the group, so i started working on writing up a rough draft for the two people who won my last poll ( park jinyoung and shin yeeun ) and sadly, i don’t think they were going anywhere i liked. ( ◡△◡✿ ) so here i am again asking for more opinions, but with more information on muse ideas i think would be interesting to play around with and to develop!! i’ll be providing some brief ideas below, then on this poll, you can tell me who you think the dashboard needs the most!!
OPTION 001  //  choi bomin, takata mashiho, lee daehwi, or kim yonghee // vocal unit leader / lead vocal of charm, or lead dancer / sub vocal of charm, or vocal of charm.
he would be on the younger side of the spectrum as far as charm’s age range is concerned, but he’d be of the most responsible out of the group, which explains his title as vocal unit leader if that’s the role i can snag!! see, he grew up in a single mother household, and due to her multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads and groceries in the fridge, she wasn’t around a lot when he was growing up, and to top it off, he has four younger siblings ( a set of twin brothers, another brother, and one sister who’s closest to him in age!! ) that he has to watch out for. if anyone’s seen shameless us, think of him as a fiona gallagher type, but obviously not as intense as she and her family are in the show!! anyway, his childhood was mostly spent cooking meals for them, helping with homework, and cleaning the house—even when he was in elementary school. his mom and pop trusted him with a lot. so now, he’s a bit of a mother hen figure to everyone because that’s how he was raised, but he’s also severely exhausted, and he constantly puts everyone before himself, but that’s actually a fatal flaw for him instead of an act of selflessness. now, if you’re wondering where his love for music comes from, it’s because he learned to play the piano before his parents divorced, and it’s one of the only things that calms him down. in order to get his siblings to sleep, he plays a portable keyboard he bought with his life savings, and sings for them until they pass out. playing music reminds him of simpler times, and music itself, is his first love.
as a preteen, he was scouted by bc entertainment due to his visual charm, but when he auditioned for them, they were quite fond of his voice. it was untrained, but really beautiful to listen to, and they decided to take a chance on him. presently, he’s so dedicated to his work, and to his craft, but he fails to care for himself—often falling sick due to lack of sleep in conjunction with exercise, writing music, and other idol duties. i envision him similar to woozi in that he’d be someone who contributes composition, lyrics, and productions to charm’s albums. he’s very multi-talented, but he’s recently let that swallow him whole, and it’s not good for his health. he works so hard because he still has this idea that he needs to be the sole provider for his family since his mother is even more overworked than before, and his younger sister is now in charge of the siblings, which makes him feel guilty.
personality wise, he’d be a little bit of a soft, sad boy aesthetic come to life. moody, tired, emotional, and sensitive, but in all the right ways, if that makes sense!!
OPTION 002  //  kwon nara, park jiyeon, im yoona, or kim seolhyun // vocal of gal.actic, leader / main rapper / lead dancer / vocal of fuse, or lead dancer / vocal of lipstick.
think of a strict visual center type who’s also an actress, model, and master spokeswoman—a girl who’s calculating and who draws in a large crowd; someone that ever woman aspires to be and every man aspires to marry; she’s just that good, sparkly, and golden, you know? she’s a sunbeam on the outside, and her image makes her palatable to all types of people, so she isn’t just a sex symbol meant to capture the male gaze, she’s meant to be a people pleaser by default, and she’s really good at that. however, she’s been in the business for a very long time, and she’s pretty tired of it, but her bank accounts are nice and full due to all of her side gigs. like the muse in option one, she comes from very humble beginnings, but it was more so that her parents were dirt poor after being ostracized by their much wealthier families. see, the two of them were never meant to be together ( think romeo and juliet ) but decided to defy the wishes of their own flesh and blood, and embarked on a journey of their own!! it was hard, and neither of them adjusted well at first, but when they became pregnant, they kind of had to get their shit together really quick. when their daughter was born though, they loved her unconditionally, and raised her to be humble... as well as a bit of a con-artist, but that wasn’t necessary their intent. they needed help with bill and rent payments, amongst other things, and at a young age, she discovered that painting on a face and being a good actress would help them a ton. she was an innocent looking kid, so when she’d swipe the money from cash registers, or steal groceries from the supermarket, no one ever knew it was her. she was a bit of a master thief as a child, but it was all in the name of helping out her household. it was what she could do to contribute.
however, as a teen, she took it up a few notches and started to flirt with rich boys in school to get access to their money, or like, she’d find ways to manipulate people into eating out of the palms of her hands, all in the name of survival. though, when she was scouted by her company, she was able to convince them to sign her as a trainee despite having no talents. she promised them to work hard, and that she did, and even though she didn’t train for a long time before she debuted, she proved to be an asset to her group due to her ability to woo people of all types. her life, in a sense, primed her for fame, and she wants to take advantage of it now that she has all eyes on her. her past also made her into a fantastic actress, and she’s known to give thrilling and believable performances.
personality-wise, she’d be very two-faced, but never intensely malicious. she’d never like, manipulate her friends into bending to her will, or treat her boyfriends with any sort of toxic behavior on purpose, but she’s definitely not the girl on tv that everyone knows and loves in real life. however, the one good deed she does more often than not is volunteer at food banks and homeless shelters to assist those who were once in her position. so she’s not, like, chaotic or true evil per se, but more chaotic neutral more than anything. she’s definitely motivated by success and money, and in the past, has been accused of social climbing to gain further notoriety, but that’s neither her nor there now!!

she had no idea what she was doing because, if she ( somehow ) did, she would’ve rationally convinced herself not to drive the distance to his apartment; convinced herself not to put on a gorgeous outfit to make his jaw drop; not to generously spritz on his favorite perfume to sense on her; not to style her hair in a manner that made her resemble a princess that needed saving. without necessarily realizing it, jeon haseo had created herself to be a person that many men flock to, like moths to an open flame, and while she’s always happy with the attention they gave to her, she’s mind-numbingly unhappy with the obnoxious, dreaded aftermath of the scenarios she wandered into time and time again. it isn’t much of a secret that she paints on a demeanor that resembles sunshine and rainbows in order to mask her very real, very dark, insecurities, and if she were being truthful with herself, she expects it every single time, but hopes that it won’t happen; that things will surprise her and end up completely different. god, how naïve, right? she’s been hurt so many times, and dons so many figurative and literal bandages, and yet, she still hasn’t learned her lesson on how men function, especially when it comes to the possibility—hell, even the mere thought—of being tied down to her for forever.
it’s a repeating process for her, and unfortunately, it never, ever ends well.
first, the vocalist puts forth an image that isn’t realistic or attainable after a long period of time, but she loves living in her own fairytale fantasy that way. next, she finds a man that pleases her—who whispers sweet little nothings into her ear, and overall, treats her as if he’s made up his mind; as if he’s already possessed her without asking that fated question yet. then, she feels comfortable enough to take off her mask, to rid of the impossibly high standard she’s forced to live up to now, and inevitably, she starts to feel vulnerable; starts to think that what she feels is love and nothing else, but before she’s able to inform these men of her feelings, they’re long gone—out of sight, out of mind, with a piece of her heart in tow. none of them have seen the tears she’s cried on their behalf, but she’s okay with that; she’s okay with forcing her best, most angelic smile, no matter how exhausted or drained her soul is.
it’s what she’s had to do all of her life, after all.
tonight, though, hopes are still at an all-time high, and now that she’s arrived at her destination, haseo pulls out her coveted compact mirror from within her purse; taking a few moments in the privacy of her vehicle to check on how her waved tresses are holding up, and lastly, to apply a fresh coat of lipstick to her full pout—the color of it, blood-red rose, making her appear romantic, sinful, but classic, all at the same time. when she decides she’s ready, she takes a deep breath, and once again, enters the night—her heels creating a rhythm as she walked, navigating her way to the front door of his humble abode, and once there, she presses the doorbell with her fingertip; taking a few paces back to allow him some more to answer. honestly, she couldn’t wait to see him, as pathetic as it seems; to soak up his gorgeous appearance and sunbeam personality after all of their time spent away from one another.
she just hoped that he looked forward to seeing her, too... that’s all that mattered to her right now.

JAEIN.
her lips purse together as she listens to the older female’s opinion. she thinks she’s seen the handkerchiefs done before by some other group, but she can’t exactly put her finger on which one. however, there was nothing truly unique or new in this industry anymore, and so she thinks it was just an aesthetic inclusion. either way, whenever lucid was practicing the choreography, jaein could feel the silk slipping, forcing her focus to spread all the way to the tip of her fingers. the teasing gets to her, and she can’t help but chuckle because haseo has read her mind. that’s exactly what she was worried about. “watch. the directors at music programs are going to be screaming into their earpieces when we start promoting because they have to pan out or focus on a member whenever i screw up that part.”
jaein’s never thought that she really pulled off one concept better than the other. her own fans seemed to prefer the innocent, schoolgirl concept, but she thinks that’s only because the number of fans that joined the fandom grew tremendously with the change. who knows how many of them will stay. “you think so?” she questions back, looking down at her outfit. it always surprised her whenever haseo would shower her in compliments. personally, jaein struggled with being verbally affectionate with her members—or anybody really—so whenever the older female casually complimented her, she was still taken back. “i think i’m used to dancing around like this with heels. my legs are definitely going to be a little bloated tomorrow morning.” with that, she takes a moment to massage her legs to make sure that they don’t completely torture her the next day. “we still have those cold patches at the dorm, right? i think i’m going to need like four of them on each leg.”
jaein had such a delicate way about her, and in a sense, haseo thought she was genuinely quite perfect. it was hard for her to describe, truly. occasionally, a person meets another person that makes them feel inferior, but not necessarily in a malevolent fashion, no. instead, it’s more like, they’re so effortlessly good at everything they do, and they’re so beautiful inside and out, that they’re almost surreal. for lucid’s main vocalist, that golden individual was her group’s leader. ever since the two of them met, there was a deep connection, but it never felt romantic in tone. it definitely resembled that of a sisterhood, and the older of the two was so glad that she was able to forge such a strong bond so soon into her trainee days at dimensions. if it weren’t for jaein, haseo probably would’ve left the company prior to her debut, but at the time, she felt it important to see it through, especially if the younger girl was going to be around. being that both of them weren’t exactly thrilled with being idols, she didn’t want to put her best friend through hell all on her own, so here they were: hand-in-hand and facing the world head on.
her lips tugged into a smile at the brunette’s words, and she nudged her gently; not wanting to mess up her hair, makeup, or ensemble. “oh, stop—you’re gonna kill it every single time and you know it.” she teased, moving her face in closer to nuzzle against the side of jaein’s cheek. being physically ( and even verbally ) affectionate was something that haseo had no issues with, but she knew that personal space and boundaries were important, too. “that, or if you do mess up, it’ll be a viral moment. trust me—after having survived falling, what? five times on stage, you’ll be fine. i mean, yeah, the comments asking how a former ballerina could be so clumsy kind of stung, but i can actually look back and laugh at it now, you know?” hopefully her advice wasn’t seen as obnoxious. when cold patches were mentioned, though, she nodded her head. “i think we do, yes! when we get back home, you should draw yourself a warm bath, take some medicine, and rest for as long as you can. you’ve gotta save up your energy for promotions.” which, to the both of them, wasn’t necessarily a thing to look forward to.
“to be frank with you, i honestly just can’t wait for us to head back to the dorm so we can order takeout. that’s the best part of the day for me.”

safeguard.
/ˈsāfˌɡärd/ — verb. protect from harm or damage with an appropriate measure. featuring cho sooah, fuse’s maknae, vocal, rapper.
being an only child, haseo was used to being lonesome, and never had a younger sibling to protect, to dote upon, and to tease, and that’s not to say she didn’t beg her parents for a little brother or sister. every time she did, she would receive the same answer; that she was all that her mother and father needed, and that adding another baby into the mix wasn’t a great idea. sure, now as an adult, she was able to rationalize with them, but as a child, she never grasped why her parents were intent on providing her someone to keep her company; someone she’d love fiercely and for forever. all of that wouldn’t matter later in life, however, as she was able to form sisterly bonds with many girls in the industry, and cho sooah was one of her favorites on the list. their age difference was pretty large, but they were still able to find commonalities, and learn to trust one another in a deep manner. she was finally getting everything she wanted as a child, and she couldn’t be more glad about it. that said, she rolled over in her bed and wrapped one of her arms around her junior; pulling her in close as they rested. “you haven’t been talking much tonight—is something on your mind?” she queried, resting her forehead against the back of sooah’s head. “if you don’t feel like talking, that’s totally fine too, though, okay? i guess i’m just easily worried.” the older of them teased, squeezing fuse’s maknae a little tighter.
in a lot of ways, she saw a lot of herself in the other girl. when she was her age, she was just as confused by her feelings, and the rush of adolescent hormones never helped. back then, she wished she had someone to hold her hand through all of the confusion, but unfortunately for her, that never happened. now, though, haseo was adamant on being the type of woman she always wished would give her all the answers, and she was glad she could be there for so many people. maybe it was her maternal instincts kicking in, but there was something about her that loved to nurture, and care, for other people. she just hoped it didn’t come across as intrusive. that said, though, she lightened up her grip from around sooah, and inhaled an exasperated deep breath before exhaling it; rolling her eyes at the noise coming from the shared area of lucid’s dorm. “you’re honestly so lucky you’re not in your dorm anymore,” the main vocalist mused, shaking her head back and forth. “do you ever wonder what it’s like for groups that have, like, more than six members, though? i couldn’t even imagine sharing a space with ten other people...”

bewilder.
/bəˈwildər/ — verb. cause ( someone ) to be perplexed and confused. featuring han yul, unity’s main dancer, vocal, rapper.
this is was a sensation that haseo never thought she’d have to think through, but the instant it happened, she knew that she was doomed. after many years of trying to convince people that men and women can simply exist within a platonic relationship, here she was: stuck with a now marred image of a man that she considered to be a close pal—one that she would stay up late text messaging whenever she couldn’t sleep; one she would sneak away with to dance in order to de-stress after weeks of promotions; one she held near, and dear, to her heart due to his unwavering brightness and exuberance. now, though, all of those innocent moments and images were forever altered, and she despised her mind for causing this dramatic shift. what’s worse is that, no matter how hard she tries to erase these now delicately x-rated reveries that involve her coveted dance partner and friend, she’s unable to—the strength of his beautiful arms wrapping around her lithe frame now bringing her a flurry of mixed signals as opposed to comfort, and that’s the last thing she wanted; needed. for days now, she’s had to live with this befuddlement all alone, but after suffering in silence for quite sometime, she and he finally made plans to meet up before lucid enters promotions for their new comeback, and before he rushes away occupied with one of the many projects that he’s involved in, and she has no idea what to do, or how to act, or how to respond—she just hopes she can keep herself composed.
if this were a simple brunch date, she wouldn’t be as nervous as she was, but just like usual, the pair of them made plans to dance; to mess around with choreography, and to create what they liked to call magic. if it were under any other circumstance, haseo wouldn’t have thought twice about accepting the invitation, but when she was asked this time, she actually hesitated. how bizarre, right? nevertheless, she tried desperately to distract herself with the eight-counts she’d recently memorized for “you and i,” and performed them in front of the mirror within dimensions entertainment’s coveted dance rehearsal space; waiting for none other than han yul to arrive. he’s fashionably late, as usual, and though that fact about him used to annoy her in the past, she’s now perfectly okay with having some alone time to center herself. maybe all of this was caused by lack of physical contact? maybe she was just more sensitive to it now because she hadn’t been sensual with anyone in the last few weeks? every reason she tried to find for it only sated her curiosity for a little while, but then it would all come crashing down fiercely when she remembered what it was like to be in his grasp that day, and how strongly she reacted to it.
shaking her head free of lascivious thoughts, the music that blared over the speakers reached the chorus, and when it did, she forced herself to dance harder than she had been doing—her voice being heard when she parted her lips to sing along with her part; practicing movement in conjunction with her singing so she’d remain stable during live shows. yul would be walking in any moment now, but she tried not to think about it; instead focusing on the choreography she had spent weeks learning, hoping she was doing a good job with it.

MINHYUN.
His outfit and hair were carefully planed yet nothing impressive since he wished to do what normal people did on their first days, nothing fancy just an ordinary date hoping she wouldn’t mind his idea since he thought it would be more special that way, he knew it was risky but it was a break from their life, wanting to experience the feeling of being normal and not an idol. “Haseo” He whispered with a smile as he saw her in the park, even with the people around he would always be able to recognize her right away. “Hello” He greeted her while raising his cap while pulling down his face mask gently freeing his face so she could recognize him. “I am…”He began before clearing his throat in awkwardness. “your date” Minhyun finished feeling quite happy to say such words before he found himself talking without knowing “You look pretty today” Minhyun spoke, a reddish tint on his cheeks barely visible, in his eyes she always looked good but this time perhaps it was the fact that unknowingly she had dressed herself up for him that made her look even better in his eyes.
to be honest, if jeon haseo could get at least one measly sliver of a normal life per day, she’d be thrilled; her own existence much more grand than she’d intended it to be. being an idol wasn’t the end goal for her years ago for this same reason, and yet, she went along with it because she was desperate to prove a point; desperate to be successful in some entertaining aspect so she wouldn’t be forced to wed someone she didn’t love, and start a family with him. however, she bit off much more than she could chew by signing with dimensions entertainment, and she’s reminded of that obnoxious fact more-and-more everyday. however, for the next few hours, she was to be wined and dined by a guy that made it very clear that he was interested in her, and though she was teased about it by her members when they were arranged to go on a date, she was still hopelessly flattered. most of her life was spent in rehearsal spaces or on stages, so she never really had an opportunity to date. that, and well, she’s always been more interested in working rather than playing, but now that she isn’t necessarily in love with her occupation, she’s decided to lean a little further towards the art of playing; especially when it comes to romance.
if it wasn’t already obvious, she’s extremely excited—and just as anxious—for this night out on the town, but she doesn’t necessarily want to appear over-eager. that wouldn’t be attractive at all. so, she kept her outfit elegant, yet simple; accessorizing with a matching beret to better conceal her identity. she wouldn’t want to cause any scandals, after all. once she was all set, she made her way to their meet-up destination, but couldn’t catch a glimpse of him, so she did her best to make herself as inconspicuous as possible while she waited.
though, when he finally approached her, she turned to set her sights upon him; offering a soft smile. “minhyun-ah, hello!” she replied, raising her hand to wave delicately even though he was standing close to her. little-by-little, her pupils swept over his appearance, and when she noticed that he was trying much harder to hide himself from the crowd, she inaudibly gasped; bringing her palm back only to cover her mouth with it. “should i have worn a mask, too?” she was embarrassed, that was for sure, and she hoped she didn’t make some grave mistake that would only land them in trouble. however, her mind fell a little more at ease when he gave her a compliment; her frown transforming into that same leonine grin she was known for.
“aw, well aren’t you adorable? thanks so much!” luckily, she was wearing enough bb cream to hide the blushing warmth that blossomed on her face, else she’d be back to being embarrassed if she hadn’t put enough on. “you look pretty today, too!” she teased, emphasizing her playfulness with a wink. “i can’t wait to see what all you have planned for us!”

JAEIN.
facing to her member besides her, jaein leaned onto the older female’s shoulder for a moment before sitting back up, afraid that she’ll mess up her set hair. “do you think the handkerchiefs were a nice addition? i’m always afraid that it’ll slip out of my hands, and then i’ll look stupid dancing without it on my own.”
to say that she’s exhausted is an understatement, but haseo’s always craving extra sleep on the sets of music videos. the early call-times have never been her favorite—as a taurus, she loves her sleep a little too much—but here she stands: barely functioning and dressed to the nines in dark, moody attire. the days of pleaded skirts, pastel colors, and schoolgirl uniforms are long behind lucid already, and to be honest, she misses that concept much more than she thought she would. in a sense, it provided her a fantasy of what her high school career could’ve been like had she not pursued a career in entertainment, and boy, was it refreshing. honestly, at this point, she longs to live a blissfully mundane life like most of her best friends. sure, she has public recognition now, and tons of access to designer garments, but the glory and the material items don’t necessarily etch smiles across her face. if anything, they somehow make her feel more hollow. on the outside, she’s a strong and fragrant rose, but on the inside, she’s long since wilted and showing no signs of regrowth. it’s tragic, really, but she can’t do much now—she doesn’t need to be seen as a quitter, especially by her peers.
however, just before she jumped off the plank she’d been wandering down since the crack of dawn, she felt the comfort of her most beloved member’s—ryu jaein—head upon her shoulder, and in that moment, she was reminded of her stance within lucid. sure, the slightly younger girl was the leader, but haseo was of the oldest in the group, and while she wasn’t in charge of schedule operations or in charge of keeping tabs on the others, she was still seen as an older sister by almost all of them. so, instead of seeing her break a sweat, she painted on a better smile and paid attention to the cadence with which her best friend spoke; finding it more than comforting in this unfortunate moment. “i personally think so, yes!” she exclaimed, eyes angled upwards to gaze at the one-centimeter taller girl’s visage. “luckily for us, though, they’re just gonna edit the best looking parts for the video. we don’t have to worry about dropping them until a few more weeks,” she teased, tapping the tip of jaein’s nose with her index fingertip.
“you look really gorgeous though! you’ve always been able to pull off this gothic stuff so well. every time i watch the monitor when you’re on camera, my breath is taken away from me.” if giving compliments was an olympic sport, she’d win the gold medal every single time. though, it was much easier to show people she loved in sweet words. jaein must’ve been used to it by this point in their friendship. “how’re your legs and feet feeling, by-the-way? i’m so sorry that you’re stuck in heels, babe.”
