She saw the time passing by her eyes and didn’t care about it, she checked the clock, it marked seven o’clock and she was sitting in the practice room trying to practice her singing but no doing much.

One more hour passed, the clock was marking eight o’clock and there were two options on her head: give up for today or ask for help. In her mind neither seemed to be good, but she needed one and found herself asking for help.

And she just stayed sat on the floor looking at lyrics given to her and looking at her phone, waiting for an answer and a person to come through the door.

she’s been staring blankly at the television for over an hour now. her workout is over, and she’s showered and changed, but she stands idly by the treadmills watching the nightly news on mute.

its only serving as a minor distraction, barely doing its job well.

her phone makes a violently ugly sound as it vibrates on the dashboard of treadmill, and its enough to bring her back to reality for better or worse.

the text is from a trainee asking for help, and granted seolhee could just say no, in fact her fingers type out an excuse before her brain can even compute. but she pauses for a moment. it won’t kill her to be helpful or nice, no matter how tired she is and frustrated she gets, the trainee has done nothing to her to not deserve her help

somehow, the more she walks to the practice rooms the more she begins to detest them. she can hear the squeaking of sneakers against wooden floors and the the muffled sound of songs coming from each room until she finally finds the last one, silent and seemingly void of life.

“hey, sorry i’m a little late i was in the gym.” she says peeling off her coat and tossing it into the corner. she remembers this training room, five years ago it was the one she practically lived in waiting for her turn to shine.

it’s barely changed since then.

“so did you choose a song or did you want me to pick one out for you?”

four drinks in and she starts to feel like a deity.

untouchable, venerable, beloved.

she’s sure her face is ruddy and unattractive and she’s always hated the way her nose crinkles when she laughs but for now she’s drunk enough to not be concerned enough with her own vanity for now.

bottles, food containers, and guitar picks litter the ground and seolhee knows she’ll hate herself when sobers up and its time to clean but she clumsily moves her fingers along the guitars neck as she tries her hand at playing an acoustic and inebriated version of wouldn’t it be nice.

it almost sounds nice until she hits too many wrong chords.

the neck slips through her fingertips unceremoniously and clatters against the wooden floor making an ugly sort of sound, but a laugh escapes her anyways. four drinks in and she feels like her problems no longer exist anymore, she loves it.

“siwan,” his name slurs past her tongue and she’s certain her accent has only become thicker, “you and me, let’s make a duo where we sing the beach boys and wear hawaiian shirts. it could be so fun, don’t you think?”

“this is probably a really cliché answer but cherry blossoms. when i was a kid i used to like climb on the tree after school and break off branches and give them to my parents and sisters and i love walking by the han river when they’re in bloom. its really beautiful.”

Do they play any instruments?

“i started playing guitar when i was 12 because i got it as a birthday gift, and then around the time i moved to seoul i started playing piano. i want to learn how to play the drums though and maybe have a concept album where i write all the songs and play everything on it too. that’s probably not that feasible though.”

“i really love my parents a lot. my dad is a high school teacher and my mom works in a cafe she and her sister run. and when i was a kid i’d get really frustrated because they didn’t want me to become a singer even though that’s what i wanted to do, but now i see they were just worried it wouldn’t pan out well and they didn’t want me to suffer. but yeah i love them a lot and i miss them a lot too, but i don’t have a lot of time to go to jindo to see them a lot.”

What does their living space look like?

“surprisingly my house is actually pretty clean considering i’m sort of lazy. when i was a kid i always had a ton of chores because i was the youngest so i guess i’ve always been in the habit of keeping my house clean.”

As a kid, what were they like?

“a pain in the ass, that’s what my sisters always told me. i grew up on jindo and there’s not a lot to do there so i’d always find something to do and usually just get into trouble. up until i got a guitar i would just spend all my free time hanging outside and climbing trees and stuff and then i just stayed home and made a whole lot of noise while i tried to learn how to write songs.”

“lychee. when i was a kid i used to eat the gross canned ones that taste sort of metallic, but i’m sort of obsessed with the flavor? i always buy lychee falvored calpico and gummies and at my fans give me lychee a lot when its in season. i love it.”

“uh i’m pretty lazy usually so i’m really more of a jeans and t-shirt type person and i don’t even really wear makeup. but my company is encouraging me to be more feminine so i’ve been trying to change it up and wear more skirts and blouses and trying to wear make up more. i don’t know if it’s working out so well for me though.”

Tea or Coffee?  How do they take theirs?

“i drink a ton of coffee, especially during comeback times or during recordings. my kidneys probably hate me honestly, i ought to try to be more healthy. but my favorite type of coffee is when there’s a ton of sugar and milk and it doesn’t really taste like coffee anymore. basically i just like sugar.”

“i mean i stay up pretty late usually because i game a lot and I feel like i write better songs at night, but my dog really loves to go jogging in the morning so as much as i’d like to sleep in i’m up pretty early every morning to go running. the things you do for your dogs, y’know.”

her eyes follow the trail of cobwebs in the corner of the office.

she hates kang inseong’s office with a passion. it’s too cold, poorly decorated, and only serves as a room where he turns to express his overwhelming disappointment or serve her with overwhelming disappointment.

today, its about the former.

it starts by an honest to god mistake. an instagram live session for her to chat with her fans ends in scandal when sanha walks into the room talking about “how much he’s missed his baby.” no one cares he’s only there to take a nap or that he was talking to her dog; the damage is done and it leaves them sitting in kang inseong’s office while he rages about.

“don’t you care about your image anymore?” he asks, or rather pleads. its not a question directed at seolhee, but instead for sanha— the bigger money maker between the pair of them, the one that matters more.

“sir,” she cuts in because god knows she can’t bear to sit in this office staring at the same cobweb drifting in the air-conditioned breeze, “with all do respect. sanha isn’t my type at all. put that in the press statement, nothing happened and we all know it, now can we go?”

there’s a heavy pause in the room. seolhee’s supposed to be quiet, sweet, timid. that’s what kang inseong promotes her with; the virtuous girl with the quiet r&b songs and melancholy raps. but this diverts so far from her normal demeanor she can see how the shock settles in on his face.

“okay, i’m going to take that as a yes then. i’ll be going.”

she’s from jindo and the youngest of three girls and grew up in a pretty normal fam

her uncle showed her how to play the guitar when she was 12 and like fast forward a few years and she’s posting her music on soundclound and like companies are taking notice of her

so even tho her whole family told her it was a bad idea she went to seoul to train under redlight music

and she was originally gonna debut in a subunit with @fmsanha​ but those plans got scrapped and he went into decypher and she became a soloist

def feels some sort of way about redlight prioritizing decypher aka she’s really bitter about it and lowkey doesn’t like decypher because of unfair treatment but she keeps that to herself

writes her own songs and what not!

hardly appears on tv, has been on music shows a grand total of twice, would like to appear on tv more but for reasons due to management and her company she doesn’t

really nice and kind sort of to a fault

also super chill and is known for giving really good fan service and what not

tbh is heavily considering red light bc like while she’s chill with having a small fanbase she’s also bitter that her company doesn’t do anything but apparently provide her with false promises

her baby is a 105 pound akita named sagwa who likes to go on aggressive jogs in the morning so you could a) go jogging with them b) get scared shitless every time you see this big bear of a dog coming for you or c) treat sagwa like the sweet little baby seolhee claims he is.

considering she doesn’t have comebacks frequently or do much promoing she has a freer schedule than most idols so she indulges in her hobbies aka she watches a lot of anime and games a lot, a total nerd could who likes to drink beer and rewatch naruto and is still in love with kakashi
