Heyo, I'm making an updated alter intro thing because honestly, I was such a try-hard at first but now I feel like I've stopped being such a caricature and have settled into being myself so...
Name: Orpheus
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 21
Gender: Male (I specifically identify with the transgender experience because of being in a female body)
Sexuality: Mostly straight? Idk maybe like, biromantic or smth? It's confusing
Role: Protector
Sign off emoji:  💀
More on looks: I'm like an alternative Adam Sandler. I also often give 12 year old boy. My biggest issue right now is finding a masculine way to style my hair. Once I've got that down it's over for u bitches
Likes: Playing solitaire, sitting in the sun, being a menace to society, playing with my dog, trying new food, video games
Dislikes: People, cleaning, being told what to do
Hobbies: Being a general nuisance, playing games, listening to music, reading and watching scary shit
Fun fact: I have a twin sister (Ophelia) and my best friend is Hitoshi (Louise is VERY close second I promise). Also my friends have Benadryl Cucumber'ed my name so now I get called shit like orphanage.
Pop off below if you feel so inclined

Our System (updated!)
Hi! We are a system. We are not yet diagnosed but are certain that we are a system and are currently on a psychiatry waiting list. Our alters will make their own posts when they front or ask someone to make one and we will have a sign off so people know who is replying or posting. Please check our profile for more info on each alter and feel free to comment alter specific comments or questions under their intro, or submit an ask!
Here is a list of alters. please check our profile for more info on each alter:
Lou ✨ (Host) (She/They)
Orpheus 💀 (Protector) (He/Him)
Anya 🌿 (Caretaker) (She/Her)
Shinsou Hitoshi 🎤 (MHA introspect) (He/Him)
Sunny ☀️ (Little) (He/Him but doesn’t mind others)
Ophelia 🌸 (Soother/Gatekeeper) (She/Her)
Dealanach 🥀 (Sexual protector) (She/Her but doesn’t mind They/Them)
Cleo 🌻 (Little, a trauma holder) (She/Her)
As well as OSDD, we also suffer with ADHD, ASD, OCD, we are hard of hearing (HOH), and we are diagnosed with FND (though some of us are not 100% happy with the lack of testing etc). FND, or functional neurological disorder, impacts each and every aspect of our lives and the symptoms are extremely broad. Our most obvious and pressing symptoms are seizures, a type of temporary limb paralysis called dystonia, and chronic pain.
Check our profile for more info on our alters, ask as many questions as you want, and as we are all very new to this, feel very free to leave any tips or knowledge we or any other systems may want/need to know!
Thanks! - Lou  ✨

Everyone has the idea that I'm very stoic and flat but the reality is that I opened the bathroom window, heard someone playing a saxophone, said out loud 'they're jazzing it for the ax man of new Orleans' and made myself laugh so hard that our dog came in to check on me.

How did you get diagnosed as a system? All I got was 'well aged 19 is a confusing time' and 'people are complex and multifacited' and 'sometimes a diagnosis is a bad thing' like my guy I AM MADE UP OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE

I am writing a character with OSDD1a, is there anything I should avoid doing? Or something you particularly suggest?
Again, I'm assuming that you're the same anon. All the questions you've asked make it clear that you're a singlet. With that in mind, there is only one piece of advice I can give you in regards to writing a character with OSDD1a.
Don't.
Well, ok, here's a bit more nuance: A main character or just a side character? A side character who helps the MC for a chapter then goes about their own business, yeah, you can try your best.
But don't write your main character as someone with OSDD and most definitley don't write ABOUT having OSDD. You don't have the knowledge or experience to do that. Leave it to the people who are systems.
I'm going to talk now on the assumption that you want to write your main character as an OSDD1a system. I may be wrong on that, but this post is for everyone to see, so maybe it will reach someone who does have this plan. So this bit is for everyone.
WHY do you want to use a character with OSDD? Knowing your intentions can tell you a lot about how to go about something.
Representation? No. It's not your job nor your place to represent systems and the lives they live around being a part of one. That is something that ONLY a sytem can do. It's a job for lived experience only.
You think it's cool? No. It's not cool and you're strange for thinking that. It also tells me that you don't respect the condition beyond it's cool factor.
Sorry, anon, if this wasn' the answer you wanted to hear. But OSDD is such a complex and complicated condition. I don't think it's worth the risk of bad representation.

Can the host remembers, like through a flashback or passive influence, what an alter does in a osdd1a system?
I assume you're the same anon so I'll say it here. I deleted your ask about being polyfragmented simply because we do not know.
Anyway.
OSDD1b is specifically that you don't experience complete amnesia between alters, like you'd expect to see in DID. So yes, we remember things between us. Sometimes they are 'true' memories (aka looking back and seeing the scene, or however your memory works) but for some memories, it's closer to 'simply knowing'. I may not remeber anything about lunch, but I have the knowledge that Anya ate a cheese sandwhich, for example. Kinda hard to explain, you either get it or you don't, I suppose. Or maybe I'm just bad at verbalising things.

Can alters in a osdd1a system have different genders?
yes
-Orpheus
I've been asked by Anya to elaborate. Yes, it is extremely common for systems to be made up of alters of different genders, sexualities, races or species. Shinsou is Japanese but I am English, for example. It's also important to note that alters may feel their genders in different ways. Shinsou is just a dude, but I specifically feel like a trans guy. Our body is female and was raised as such, so I relate to the trans experience. You should probbaly ask the alter in the system if you think you're close enough to get the information because it might help you understand them and their experiences a bit more

Note
If y'all are okay with us asking, do y'all have OSDD1a or OSDD1b?
Totally cool if it ain't okay, just ignore us. Good luck, y'all.
We are currently undiagnosed, so I could be wrong. But our theory is that we were an OSDD1a system that 'fractured' for lack of a better word, and became an OSDD1b system. The fracture was due to some more trauma, and we think that becoming a less covert system is just what we needed.
Idk tho
