About No Roses Gallery and Our Clients
No Roses evokes the feeling of visiting a chic side-street boutique or gallery while on vacation. Compared to intimate, artisan shops in Paris and New York, No Roses is a carefully curated, gallery-like setting, evoking an urban, yet sophisticated experience. The gallery resonates with our fashion savvy and art appreciative customers from in Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Encino to Silverlake, West Hollywood and Santa Monica.
No Roses Gallery is a warm and inviting atmosphere located on "celebrity row" in the heart of Sherman Oaks. We showcase over a dozen artisan jewelry designers, fine crafters and artists in a setting where everything is easy to see, touch and try on. Each collection is distinctive and interesting. The entire selection changes each month as we bid, "adieu" to one or more of our visiting artist collections and welcome somebody new.
Our clients are mostly women with an artistic eye for unique jewelry and men with a wicked gift-giving ability. We're frequented by L.A. locals who live and work near Ventura Boulevard, at the studios nearby and relax in the hills above us. West-siders, east-enders and out-of-towners have become loyal fans as well.
Our valued friends in wardrobe & costume design love No Roses' flexible hours, emergency "hotline" and liberal policies for studio services, allowing them to pull several pieces at a time on memo for fittings and test shots - subsequently purchasing at a special rate available only to the local entertainment industry.
The Faces Behind No Roses
In launching No Roses Gallery this year, owners Lisa Sirlin Hall and Tracy Hall combined their decades-long professional experience in creative design, fabrication and business operations with a lifetime love of consumer products, functional art and jewelry. A graduate of Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, Lisa says that over a decade of designing jewelry and a lifetime of producing entertainment projects aids in managing the intimate artisan jewelry gallery. Her background as a creative producer is particularly helpful in selecting and curating new and interesting designer collections, as well as helping clients with custom jewelry design projects.
Tracy Hall is the operational backbone of No Roses. An MIT graduate with a background heading up technology for leading consumer companies, Tracy is also the creative force behind the Los Angeles functional art studio, CalDIY. He designs and handcrafts stunning, sculptural wood-meets-metal jewelry displays exclusively for No Roses Gallery and our clients.
FNOLA Event Plans:
Our theme for FNOLA 2011 is “ALL NEW!!” No Roses Gallery is prepping for Fashion’s Night Out with new/exclusive collections from several local jewelry designers, a new photography exhibit, a secret reveal from a very special, local sculptor, plus a gift card reward not to be missed.
Jewelry Debut: Gilded Lace Cuffs Rising jewelry design star Monika Knutsson arrives from New York City just to debut her newest jewelry collection with No Roses Gallery in Los Angeles. Hand-stiched antique lace is gilded with sterling silver or 24k gold. Worn by Miss Universe, fashion models and stylish collectors, Gilded Lace arrives on the West Coast just in time for FNO! The reward? A $75 gift card good for any other purchase at No Roses (no expiration) when you buy a Gilded Lace cuff. Vouchers for the Gift Card are available only at No Roses Gallery prior to September 8th.
Mixing Art with Style: Palms Up - Limited Edition Photographs by Susie Speck Mayor Known for her stunning and often startling portraits, Los Angeles photographer Susie Speck Mayor broadened her body of work in 2011 to embrace new and popular themes. No Roses Gallery is proud to host Ms. Mayor’s latest project entitled, “Palms Up” - a creative view of the iconic tree that, while not native to Los Angeles, has become the ubiquitous symbol of our city. The photographs will be revealed for Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles as a pre-opening debut and will remain on exhibit through September for viewing and purchase.
Exclusive New Collection:  Jeweler Mark Poulin Nationally acclaimed jewelry designer Mark Poulin introduces his new "Cyber-Hippie" collection for Fashion's Night Out - exclusive to No Roses Jewelry. Poulin exhibits at top boutiques, galleries and museum stores across the country - No Roses is the ONLY place to see his latest work through September. A bit boho and mighty petite with a rustic touch, Cyber-Hippie is not to be missed. It appears on the scene beginning with FNOLA!
New Old Good Things: Vintage Jewelry by Eissa Mary Ann Eissa deconstructs vintage jewelry, then re-imagines, re-constructs and re-combines with gems and modern components, creating all new, smashing jewelry that harken back to a sweet yesterday. We’re pleased to unveil a new mini-collection of one-of-a-kind earrings - all for FNOLA on September 8th.
Stylish Greetings: Cat Cards by Sheri Lynn Behr New York photographer Sheri Lynn Behr was a hit with our Los Angeles clients when she debuted her collection of Lucky Cat photographs back in May. For Fashion’s Night Out, we’ll feature an all new selection of whimsical and too-cute-to-miss Lucky Cat greeting cards - available as either a single “meow”, or in a set of five along with her popular softcover book for a bigger “wow”.

2011 Summer Trend
From maxi skirts to chunky bangles, this summer is full of hot trends. We asked you at the end of spring what trend you'll be flaunting this summer season, and the results are in: WEDGES!
Check out these super sexy wedges Nikki Minaj wore to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
We all know that high heels are a girl's best friend (next to diamonds, of course) because, not only do they help increase your height and make your legs appear longer/leaner, but wearing heels can also make a woman feel more confident. Unfortunately, high heels can be incredibly painful and can make walking difficult. This is why we couldn't be more excited about this specific summer trend! Wedges are a lot more comfortable than your average heel due to the fact that it supports your entire foot, so you can wear it for a much longer period without sacrificing your feet. Also, you can wear wedges with pretty much any summer outfit since they come in so many different styles, height, and color!
Interested in snagging a pair or two (maybe even three!) at Fashion's Night Out? Stay tuned as we give you a sneak peek of some of the wedges available in stores participating in this year's FNO LA!

Commercial Shoot [Behind-the-Scenes]
Even on Father's Day, the Fashion's Night Out LA team was working hard to spread the buzz about FNO. With SmashBox Studios' pro-bono provision of studio space, we were able to kickoff our PSA shoot, which should be out for public viewing this August. Joining us that day was none other than Hollywood's sassiest gossip columnist, Perez Hilton, and the always-fashionable TV personality/style expert, Lawrence Zarian!
Just to give you a little glimpse on how epic this commercial will be, here are a few behind-the-scenes photos:
When Perez arrived that morning, he was a little on the quiet side - certainly not what you would expect from someone who's known for his sass and flare. But as soon as he got in the spot light, he was full of spunk! He definitely knows how to work the camera.
LZ is no stranger to the camera seeing that he's hosted countless of red carpet events and style shows. He was so full of energy and was throwing out awesome ideas left and right that we really didn't have to do much. He was a pleasure to work with and was extremely personable. He even took a picture with our FNO team!
Perez and LZ are just two of many other celebrities that will be participating in our PSA. Stay tuned to see who we'll be filming with next!
