everyone talking about the disney+ jp interview that revealed how they're planning to produce the TWST anime after so many years, which, i have had mixed feelings about it.

what i don't understand??? is how people are saying 'i am scared of the new fans joining and ruining the franchise for illiteracy'.

we have had illiteracy issues in the game already, when people never read anything or bend it out of character to their own liking... the gatekeeping is so typically western fandom mentality (ironically???) cause i have only seen joyous reactions from my asian friends.

that being said. my concerns with the TWST anime?

the horrid animation... the poor quality... changing seiyuu cast... or even worse the english dub cast... i have seen the quality issue already with something as hyped as sailor moon crystal, man, we are not the same if people are genuinely terrified of new fans. GEEZ.

some unhinged thought i had the more i scroll through social media (& this has nothing to do with this blog whatsoever, more like other sites, not even tumblr):

kind of tired of the energy some people create about shipping. i, for one, am pretty chill. i see that nothing has changed over the years: people going crazy over mlm stuff (which, same), but then either are 'meh' or side-eyeing over wlw stuff, & let's not even start about people straight up shaming or being hostile towards canon/oc, especially if it is a het thing.

somehow we could not keep that petty energy in the 2010s. if i cared about other people's opinion i would've asked, the policing is craaaazy.

twst culinary crucible (azul&ortho) jp server spoiler under read more !!

anyone who is surprised that azul is - in fact - not a great cook & rather clumsy with minor tasks like mincing an onion in the event, lemme give you a reality check rq:

his favourite dish is fried chicken, anyone who eats something off of the kids' menu has no culinary understanding (to some degree imho)

there's a reason why floyd (& jade) are cooking meals in the mostro, azul has the trattoria knowledge of his nonna & mom and all that, it does not grant that he has any practical experience (theory =/= practical)

but maybe his execution is not that bad under water; we have seen him struggle with things on the surface in human form, there are vignettes talking about how he struggled with his strength cause he went from 8 arms/legs to 4 instead & could not accustom to it as easily as the tweels

floyd had called him out as a "backseat chef" which lines up with azul's personality all over so i am not surprised that he is more talk than he can actually back up (lines up also with his UM & how he makes deals in order to get more powerful cause he has no talent of his own (to SOME degree, again).

am i the only one who is a bit disappointed about the tapis rouge event?

i get it, vil is the star & the beloved child of twst (along with a few others), but he stated himself that he is not originally from the shaftlands & moved around a lot as a child due to his 'job'. whereas, jack & cater are yet again forgotten & they're not part of the event?

i would've loved to see jack & jamil interaction, but i can dream.

a little update about my hiatus; since my health had not been the best & i've seen one doctor after another to see what is up with that, i've not had the energy to be on here much. i just find more pleasure in writing on discord, if at all, i also just spend my time either resting or drawing... watching movies & series, you know.

since my health comes first, i didn't see the need to update this as much.

however, i thought it would be nice for people to know that i just am looking after myself & trying my best.

to be honest? yes. recently, i've been adding kalim to my roster just because i know a bunch of my friends like to write jamil. & even if their ship (written as the majority of the fandom writes them, sadly) does not tickle my interest whatsoever, i do enjoy to explore their dynamic from, you know, childhood friends to enemies to best friends & maybe lovers somewhere in the far future. i do not really see it in another light.

kalim has grown on me, i did not like him at all, even with the book 5 turns, i more so thought of him as a character that i would never like, & could only tolerate. however, exploring his personality when writing was certainly something that changed my view a little bit. he still is nowhere near my favourite characters, but i do see him in a different light now.

this is so hard to admit, because i realise he is a fandom favourite & i know so, so many people who love him or have him as their favourite character, & i always felt like getting backlash for speaking about my true feelings, but i just hope that people realise i am being respectful of everyone's choices & mean no harm.

i also wanted to make more docs for my tw.st OCs & whatnot, perhaps once my health is picking up again, i will be able to sit through all of it. that being said: i am doing a lot better, but i am still not fully diagnosed. the worst has been over & done with. but there are still some things i dread to do, especially with surgical stuff (like colonoscopy & getting scopy of my stomach again for my endometriosis & surgical removal of the growths).

ㅤㅤㅤ *.·:·.★ーIt truly was rare for those kinds of moments ー even rarer if there were no ulterior motifs attached to those acts. Dazai had been used to being used by organisation(s); he had his fair share of understanding how to use others, too. This had just been the regular circle of life. But he had moved past that ー he had moved past the Mafia in general; even if there were still fragments of the past attached to him & his lifestyle.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ Hardly moving in his futon as he heard someone breaking into his apartment, he had a gun at the ready for anything, he had never gotten past that bad habit ー but at the sensation of someone actually joining him in his bed, he simply tilted his head behind himself to see what this was about. Even before that small frame had been pressed against him, he could tell that it was Nakahara ー the expensive cologne & the sound of his footsteps were enough to give him away. At least to someone as attentive & detail-oriented as Osamu.

ㅤㅤㅤ Wanting to make a comment, he was cut-off immediately, leaving the brunet to snort quietly as he shrugged his shoulders, putting his hand away from where he stored his gun, rolling over instead to meet the redhead face-to-face; it was quite evident that Dazai had not yet fallen asleep, & by the tired look on his face, he most certainly had been skipping out on a healthy amount of sleep, too.

I know that you are still with the Mafia, but I could've shot you... right... there...❞ Reaching a hand up to point his index finger in the middle of the smaller's forehead, smiling as sterile as ever as he got cozy & nuzzled against his face. ❝Is there a reason to take the sneaky route in here, Chibi-chan?❞ His voice was kept rather low & sullen, almost as if he attempted to sound sleepy, albeit he was not one to fool his Twin Dark partner from the past that easily.ー★･:･:*

ㅤㅤㅤ *.·:·.★ーSeeing the slightly younger man sit on his bed, reading a book was not the worst ー Poe understood sleepless nights, whether or not they were due to nightmares or regrets, it still was something that he'd be able to relate to to some extent. However, things could be worse ー Nathaniel could be more frazzled & less calm & collected, yet Edgar also could understand that sometimes, there's more than meets the eye, logically. The tired expression on the fellow ex-Guild member had spoken volumes.

ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ❝Oh, please. You are a guest here. I don't expect you to work, when you are supposed to be asleep.❞ The ex-Guild architect had a point there ー there was no point in dragging him out of bed just to make some tea; it was the least that Poe could do at this moment.

ㅤㅤㅤ Gesturing towards the tea set, he had also brought some light pastries that went well with tea ー nothing too heavy this late at night ー but enough to comfort along with a warm drink. Shyly glancing at the book that the other had put down to tend to the tea set, Edgar chuckled abashedly for a moment; there were times ー which he could remember so well ー when Nate was rather taken aback by the kinds of stories that he wrote, seeing how those were rather grotesque in the light of the man's beliefs. The shift surely set his heart aflutter.

Nathaniel had been curled up in bed, book in hand when he heard Poe's voice. He looked up as the other entered, giving him a tired smile when he noticed the tea being set on the coffee table.

"Thank you," he said softly, his smile still in place as he put the book down. Nathaniel knew he should be sleeping, but the recent nightmares kept him awake. Instead he began to search for distractions and set himself to reading Poe's entire collection.
