actually feels relief when someone rejects his leader role, but he forces himself to defend it anyway, not that he’s good at it

self-sacrificing

short and easily tossed around regardless of weight

tendency to bite his tie when stressed, emotional, or injured to keep from making too much noise

probably hasn’t genuinely laughed in years

doesn’t know how to react when he realizes people are being nice to him because they genuinely like him

kind of doesn’t want to go back to Earth because he knows what’s waiting for him - but he talks to everyone about it anyway because he wants what’s best for them

has been in the Fog for a while - he’s developed a high pain tolerance because of it and is partially numb to a lot of things

may or may not be starting to give up, but he’s holding on with everything he has because he knows what will happen if he does and he can’t stand to think about what it’d be like for his team.

fuck it open starter with Dwight

The worst part was, it’s not even the first time Dwight broke his leg outside of a Trial.

Breathing deep didn’t do anything to ease the pain, but it kept the tears from falling so fast. Dwight shoved the end of his tie in his mouth and hitched up his pant legs. There was nothing he could do about this, he could already tell, but looking at the damage, well, it made him feel less helpless. Temporary solution - as soon as his eyes laid upon the injury it all crashed back down on him again. His shoulders shook with a repressed sob.

Leaning back and digging his teeth into his tie, Dwight let himself settle into the dirt. He didn’t even know where he was, honestly. A long way from the Campfire. Maybe in Killer turf. He’d have to wait for a Trial, then. If he fell asleep, maybe he’d wake back up at the Fire. If he didn’t, he’d have to hope someone would stumble upon him. A kind Survivor to take him back to camp... Or a Killer to put him out of his misery, and knowing some of them, cause him even more first. He shook like he was going to puke. But he didn’t.

Staring up at the Fog overhead, Dwight exhaled. The waiting was always the worst part.
