The following project will involve the design of a unique and engaging mobile app, focusing on the planning and conceptual stage. The challenge of this project is to focus on one of the following:
An interface that can accesses a large catalogue or library of information
OR
Somehow enhance, augment or 'gamify' real-world environments, interactions or experiences.

Project 2 Smart Device Design
Design a smart device that relates to an assigned target market and category. It could be a brand new object or take an existing 'dumb' object and make it ‘smart’. It should offer utility and enhance the everyday lives of the assigned target audience.

I created two different moodboards for this project. The first is inspired by organizing stationary. The feel of it is naturalistic, drawing on real textures to communicate the category of the objects. The second board reflects a geometric approach. I drew inspiration from the Tetris game as I envision the objects being packaged in boxes appropriate to their size.

The next step in my process involved sorting the objects. First I sorted the items by size (from small to large) and material. I also sorted the items by classification and usefulness. Both of these methods show a different relationship between the physicality of the objects.

I began my brainstorming using the latch system to generate questions and themes that I would like to explore in this project.
