UKUS Cardverse Arthur cannot wait for the King to be found. So he summons one instead.
A Queen cannot rule alone. We must await the King.
Yao had tried to be gentle, at least. That hadn't lessened the foul taste in Arthur's mouth. Francis had been amused - entirely too amused - at the fact that Arthur couldn't do anything. Arthur had cheerfully reminded Francis that his Queen was possibly the one person in his kingdom he managed not to have an interest in. That had shut him up quick.
But he didn't have time to wait for whoever was chosen as King of Spades. Sometimes you had to take things into your own hands and shape your life yourself.
Which was how he found himself knelt on the floor applying the finishing touches to a summoning circle. People were not going to be happy about this. But this was for them as much as it was him. Without the king, with him forbidden from taking any action until said king was found, the kingdom would be vulnerable. He couldn't allow that.
Carefully so he didn't put out the flame prematurely Arthur stood and stepped back. Retrieving the ancient tome he'd found, he took his place and began chanting. Pronunciation was key. One mistake would undo all his hard work. Fortunately Aneirin had given him plenty of lessons.
The room darkened and the air chilled as he continued. His chalk lines began glowing, dully at first then brightening and in a flash there were shimmering walls before him. The flames danced along the barrier walls, rising higher and spreading until there was a column of flame before him.
Arthur shouted the demon's name and the room fell into darkness.
"Been a while since someone called on me."
The voice was loud, chipper, not at all what Arthur expected. And then the clack of shoes hitting the stone was unusually loud and the candles flickered back to life.
The demon looked human; a young man possibly around Arthur's age with blond hair and the brightest blue eyes Arthur had seen. His wide smile was inviting, expectedly so for a demon such as him.
"Your Majesty, what a surprise." The demon bowed but the mockery was obvious. "What does the Queen of Spades want with a creature such as me?"
Arthur stood at his tallest and still had to look up to meet the demon's bright gaze.
"I require a King."
They laughed, full and loud and warm.
"Me be King of Spades? I haven't gotten such an invigorating invitation in centuries." He leaned in closer, until he was almost touching the barrier between them. "But why should I bind myself to you in such a way?"
Arthur stepped closer.
"You enjoy power. I will give you that power and more if you agree to play at being my husband. You won't be a mere King - you will be an Emperor by the time we are finished."
He could see the interest in the demon's eyes. His gaze swept over Arthur - studying him no doubt - and Arthur held his head high. There was no room for weakness before a demon. They exploited everything they could, even the tiniest hint.
"You'll get places, Queen Arthur. Especially with me by your side."
The smile widened even farther, into unsettling territory.
"You have yourself a deal. Now drop this barrier and come here."
Arthur knew better than to trust a greed demon, especially this one. But he would do what he must to get what he wanted.
The barrier disappaited as Arthur came closer and before he could stop it he was pulled forward. The kiss was forceful, demanding, and Arthur willingly submitted himself to the demon's demands. There would be time for showing him who was in charge here later.
"Call me Alfred, my Queen."

One thing Antonio craved was warmth. Warmth of the sun. Warmth of people. Warmth of life. ...Most would say Romano didn't have any. But they didn't know Romano like Antonio did.
Romano's warmth was in his rare smile. In his laughter. There was warmth in his embrace; in the way he came to Antonio for affection. In the kisses he initiated: soft and warm and so divine Antonio could never have enough. But most of all his warmth was in his eyes. No matter how cold his words were, Antonio only had to look at his eyes to know how he didn't really mean it.

Scotfra
Francis laughed, cheeks alight with drink and mirth, and it all clicked into place.
Fueled by his new knowledge and the drinks he'd had, Alasdair buried his hand in Francis' hair and pulled him forward.
The kiss was rough and sloppy. Alasdair was too eager, Francis too tipsy drunk. But Alasdair wanted more of it. More of Francis, more of them. Francis laughed into the kiss as Alasdair pushed for deeper. French words melted into his mouth and Francis withdrew for another drink.
"Take me home."
He would gladly take him home. Tonight and any other night Francis asked it of him.

Edelweiss Dancing again, some angst
The right music was playing. As much as he was better at playing the music, he knew how to follow it as well. As should the man he approached.
"As we used to," Roderich extended his hand.
Vash looked at the offered hand, quickly meeting Roderich's gaze with fire.
"Why should I?"
"It was merely a suggestion."
Roderich let his hand drop back to his side. If Vash insisted on having nothing to do with him then he couldn't make him.
"I didn't say I wouldn't."
Roderich held back the smile as he offered his hand to Vash again.
"You really must get better with your words."
"Shut up."
Vash stared ahead and all but pulled Roderich to the floor.
They turned to face each other and Vash scowled up at him. He placed a hand on Roderich's shoulder and grabbed his other hand. Roderich gently placed his hand on Vash.
How easily they fell into step surprised Roderich. It had been years, yet it felt as if no time had passed. The expression Vash now seemed to always wear around him hadn't faded in the slightest, but his body responded to his without protest. Every step was dutifully followed, every turn perfectly executed.
He had missed this. He missed Vash.
Vash looked away and Roderich stared at his profile. There was a hardness to Vash now; there always had been but nothing like this.
"Relax," it slipped out before Roderich could stop it.
The scowl deepened and still Vash refused to look at him.
"Relaxing will change nothing about this," Vash snapped.
He was right of course. Every step was as it should be; a perfectly executed dance. Vash being tense didn't change the skill or flow of their motions.
How could he tell Vash he wanted to see him relaxed again? That he wanted Vash to enjoy himself the way he did before everything fell apart between them?
"Do you think about it?"
The whisper took Roderich off guard, too sudden and personal for him to process at first. A few steps passed before he admitted;
"I think about you."
Vash stiffened, they almost missed a step, and still Vash wouldn't look at him. Roderich wished he'd look at him again.
"Vash,"
Vash pulled his hand away and stepped back.

braport In which Luciano talks his way out of being eaten by a dragon and gets added to the treasures.
This was Alfred's quest. Luciano was just there for the ride; to have fun, to help Alfred because he had actually asked nicely for once and how could Luciano say no to that. But now Luciano was regretting his decision.
"You want me to what?"
"Distract the dragon while I find the prince."
Alfred sounded so sure of his plan. Luciano was sure splitting up while there was a dragon somewhere nearby was not a good idea. This may be one of Alfred's worse.
"How about we find the dragon and kill it, and then you can find the prince?"
Once again they passed the remains of some poor souls who had been there before them. There were too many would-be saviors with barely any remains lying about.
"Look around dude, I don't think our chances of that are very high even if we team up."
"But splitting up? And you want me to find the dragon."
"You're just scared, ain't ya?"
"No." Luciano sighed. "Fine. Leave the dragon to me while you open some doors."
"Thanks dude."
And with that there he went, leaving Luciano alone to figure out how to distract a dragon and not die. Which he did have a better chance at doing than Alfred... Oh well. If Alfred wanted the boring job, he could have it. Luciano could have some fun with a dragon.
If he found the dragon.
So far all he'd found was more people who'd failed to kill it. He would hate to fail his side of the not-plan because he couldn't find a giant fire-breathing lizard before Alfred's generally loud presence alerted it.
Luciano breathed in the fresh outside air of the courtyard and looked around. There was more castle, the tower stories said Alfred had to find his way to, the dragon outlined by the moon, another– Luciano looked back at the dragon. It moved fluid as water down from its perch toward him and he had no idea what he was actually going to do.
The roar was defeaning and Luciano snapped out of his awe to run. Away from the tower, out onto the castle grounds. There were plants out there. Cared for plants; maybe the dragon cared enough to not torch everything. The last thing he needed was dragonfire.
Fortunately - or unfortunately depending - the dragon landed. Between Luciano and the entrance back into the castle. As long as nothing happened back there to draw its attention they'd succeed.
He just had to keep it out here.
It was not easy to avoid the tail. Or the claws. The mouth was easier to keep away from.
"Wait wait wait! Don't you get tired of killing everyone who enters the castle? Do you even sleep? Powerful dragons like yourself need rest too. Can we just talk about this?"
Either it didn't understand him - doubtful; dragons were highly intelligent ancient creatures - or it didn't care what he had to say. The difference didn't matter much when he hurt all over from getting knocked into the nearby stone wall. That he hadn't broken everything or fallen unconscious was a miracle he wouldn't question. Slowly Luciano pulled himself up.
"I'm here for you anyway."
That stopped it in it's tracks, and it looked at him doubtfully, but Luciano wasn't finished.
"Yeah you heard me. Look at you- why would I be here for some unknown treasures or a prince when something as stunning as you exists? And under this moonlight... People say moonlight enhances beauty and," Luciano whistled, "now I know what they mean. You might be the prettiest creature I've ever seen."
The dragon was still and Luciano grinned. He couldn't read dragon expressions but he had to assume he was getting somewhere. Boldly he took a few steps closer.
"You don't mind if I get a closer look, do you?" Luciano reached out and to his surprise the dragon let him touch it. "So smooth and so beautiful... I could admire you for hours."
The dragon scoffed and the exhaled smoke billowed around Luciano.
"Don't be like that. I mean it."
The dragon got down until they were eye level with each other and Luciano had never felt so small before.
"For such a small, cute, thing you do have a big mouth."
Cute? Luciano flustered and lost what he was going to say next.
"What's wrong? Don't you have more to say to me? I was enjoying your flatteries, human as they are."
Luciano had so very much more to say but all of it had left his head the moment the dragon spoke. The dragon tilted its - his? - head and something resembling a chuckle came from him.
"I can bring us somewhere more appropriate."
Before Luciano had time to question he was off the ground and holding onto smooth scales.
The dragon carried him to a different part of the castle he hadn't seen yet. As he was deposited onto a pile of treasures it briefly occurred to Luciano that it just got so much harder to leave.
The dragon lay down and looked at Luciano expectantly. Luciano got as comfortable as a person could on a pile of treasure and thought over what to say. They were definitely going to be here a while. What wouldn't get him eaten?
Compliments, praise - all not untrue and Luciano refused to think too hard about that - kept the dragon occupied. Minutes stretched on and more than enough time had surely passed for Alfred to have found the prince. Luciano carefully slid from the pile and stretched. The dragon watched him but didn't move.
"Well this has been fun but I should be going."
But his path out of the room was soon blocked. By the dragon.
"You aren't going anywhere," the dragon said.
Luciano refused to get distracted again.
"I really need to go."
If Alfred came looking for him, Luciano didn't want anything to happen to Afonso- to Alfred. He didn't want anything to happen to Alfred.
"I'm just a human anyway. Surely there's no reason to keep me around."
The dragon lay down, still in the way, and smiled.
"One of the most interesting humans I've had the pleasure to meet."
Getting killed by the dragon was at the bottom of his list of things to do today. But there was no way out of this. Maybe once the dragon was asleep? Did dragons sleep? Did Afonso sleep?
He was going to be furious when he realized the prince was gone and Luciano did not want to be around for that.
"Stay a while."
Spending more time with Afonso was preferable to joining up with Alfred and his mystery prince.
Just for a while.

the “dont like dont look” fandom rule from the 2010s should really be brought back because i feel like if it did fandom spaces would feel 20x more welcoming and less angry
Too many people hate-watch content or send harassment. Some people literally seek out content they dont like just to complain about how they dont like it. Like come on
