Our goal is to create a Clubhouse where adults with mental illness can go to be in a supportive environment that provided the life skills and social skills necessary to live and thrive in the community. We also wanted the Clubhouse to focus on the person's strengths and abilities while challenging that individual to pursue his/her chosen life goals. Foot Print to Success Clubhouse mission is to assist adults with serious and persistent mental illness in developing the skills and confidence necessary to lead satisfying and productive lives in the community. This assistance is provided in a psychosocial programming and pre-vocational skill development designed to empower and support its members. Our clubhouse services are provided within a continuum of care, inclusive of recreational, social, vocational, educational, natural supports, and other services. All of our services are free. July is park and recreation month
In honor of park and recreation month of July, we encouraged our members to improve community wellness by promoting health and wellness, becoming involved in nature, increasing community spirit and increasing social equity. By promoting, getting OUTDOORS and eating a healthy meal outside -- who doesn't love a picnic in the park? The Clubhouse members are planning a picnic in the park. Our picnic basket will consist of: •Plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables •A variety of crisp, raw vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, and radishes. We are also taking along homemade hummus •Wrap sandwiches made with roasted chicken •Salad dressing that contains acidic ingredients such as vinegar or citrus instead of mayonnaise •Whole grain buns, pita bread •Water or plain chocolate milk to quench our thirst (Shelf life stable, found in grocery stores) •Frozen yogurt cups for desert -- so refreshing!
